A list of puns related to "Gym Mat"
Companies know that more and more people are making home gyms, so the rubber floor mats to prevent damage at home are greatly upcharged. What people donβt know is that a lot of farms line their stalls with a rubber mat for the horses. It helps keeps the horses from standing on a hard floor, just like a human would want, and they can be cleaned off easily.
You can generally find high quality mats for a fraction of the price, and theyβre the same type of flooring that youβd need anyways!
Edit: As some have mentioned, you might want to let any mats you buy βoff gasβ for a bit, but this will happen naturally if you can leave them in your garage first. Similar to how youβd leave a shipped mattress to off gas. These are also generally thicker than a cheap gym mat (3/4β is common for use in stalls) so bring a friend to help carry it to your vehicle or into your home, if needed. Thatβs a workout itself!
Hi guys,
I recently joined a gym and have been using their heavy bag. Unfortunately unlike my previous gym which closed down, the floor is very hard on my feet. There's no padding, it's just a standard hard gym floor.
After a 20 minute session my feet are getting blistered and the ball of my left foot is quite swollen and raw (I'm a southpaw).
Should I buy a mat and just stay on that which has the drawback of not moving around much or invest in some rdx non slip socks and hope they're sufficiently padded?
Depending on my kidsβ schedules I train BJJ 2-5 times per week. That usually looks like 2 classes/ day on Tues. and Thurs. with another class thrown in somewhere if I have time. I also like to lift but I find myself dragging ass at 5:00 am when Iβd be able to go to the gym.
I want to maximize strength training and mat time but Iβm having trouble finding a good balance. What do your schedules and routines look like?
Iβm thinking maintain the BJJ pace for cardio and then do two full body days at the gym focusing on large muscle groups and compound lifts.
Is my mat time too ambitious for a 30 year old chubby amputee?
Let me know what you think. Thanks guys.
I'm trying to get an idea what it would cost me to setup a new mat space. FYI, I'm over in Europe, but wouldn't mind numbers from anywhere to compare.
Any comments on what type of floor you prefer is appreciated as well.
Hello! Looking into renting some of the old school padded blue gym mats for a possible beginners judo/grappling demonstration at a camp ground in July. Does anyone know if there is such a thing available in the GTA for rental? Anywhere within an hour of the GTA is fine if itβs not actually in the city. Not the puzzle piece mats, but the blue ones that come in attached sections of 4 and Velcro together.
Thank you very much for any help! Have a wonderful day :)
Anyone know of any gyms with a dedicated bag/mat room, ideally with a mix of weighted light/heavy bags?
Iβve heard most robot vacs canβt handle black flooring as it thinks itβs a cliff. Has anyone used a robot to clean black flooring such as black grappling mats and black rubber gym flooring. Iβd love one that vacuums the black mats everyday. Then one that mops them. Any suggestions appreciated xx
I would be able to air the futon mattress and flip it regularly, just the tatami in combo with the futon mattress is pretty expenno and if I could get the same effect etc from gym Matt's then id be happy to, new to this though so seeking any experienced answers or recommendations! Thanks :)
Hi. we recently bought a new place with a basement and I wonder what is a good choice if I want to set up something in the basement for solo drilling including breakfalls. Kids would probably use this space for fun as well.
I know there's a lot of option online but I'm not sure what kind of mat I should look for. The most important criteria I am looking for is safety for both me and the kids especially when involving any of falling. I don't mind paying for some extra price if the quality of the mat is good and installation is relatively easy because I am not very handy. And I don't worry too much about removing the matt for now since we plan to live in this place for at least another decade. But I hope to be able to maintain/clean the mat regularly without too much trouble.
Do you regularly host open mats? Do you attend other open mats?
What is your take on students visiting other gyms?
Are they training for dyno boulders ?
I dont know if this sub allows links, but if it does please share which mat you use and if you like it or not. Or if this sub doesnt like links, then please let me know what exact brand & model you like. since i'd be buying online i want to make sure i get the exact right ones. I'd ALSO like to do yoga on it.
I was thinking of getting like a $100 big activity mat on amazon but just saw that ikea has smaller folding ones (so i'd get two) called plufsig. but i've never seen a regular exercise mat in person and i dont know what the best one is to get, or if ikea isn't as good as the ones on amazon which are taller but probably harder.
i'm not a minimalist really, but i live in a small NYC apartment, i have a nice bed but i love the idea of not having one and making more floor space with something i can fold up and away during the day. how many inches tall of a mat should i get? im a side sleeper, a woman with wide hips.
do you layer it with blankets over it etc? i am interested in the mundane details, like how tall of a mat do you use, brand, etc, how exactly you set it up (layering with sleeping bags, blankets etc), how it makes you feel.
i think the getting up off the floor in the morning etc will be good for my body anyway.
thank you!
Probably till the end of December, just seeing what I can work with. And if any have drop in rates; not a big deal, just don't want to be blindsided with a charge.
