A list of puns related to "Grandfather Clause"
Mine is WW2. I can't stop WW2 without undoing my existence. Due to increased contact between America n the phillipines after the war leading to my parents meeting. Stopping WW2 is basically the "you can not kill your grandfather" clause

My friend has been offered to buy a business. The business is a retail store. What's curious about this store is that its located in a pure residential area in Ottawa. It really stands out. I'm not originally from this city but where I come from, these types of stores are allowed to stay open because of a grandfather clause. Meaning that they have an exemption that allowed the store to continue with operations that were approved before the implementation of any new rules in the neighborhood.
This also usually means that once the owners stop being the owners, they cannot sell. Meaning no one else can take over the Grandfather-Claused business.
Can anyone suggest a way for my friend to find out if this is indeed the case before he goes any further?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I posted this in another thread but Iβm going to make a separate post for it. Iβm terrified that if Cricut does a βgrandfatherβ plan they will do updates so often to brick your machine after a few years. Itβs what all computer/phone manufacturers do, and is not illegal. So say you have a perfectly good maker from 2019, by 2023 it would be a brick because they want to force you to the new plan by buying a new machine. If lawyers follow through with class actions, DO NOT let them come to a grandfather clause agreement. All or nothing. We need to act like r/wallstreetbets. They banned together to put pressure on unscrupulous hedge funds, we can do that to Cricut.
So Iβm 20 and Iβm looking for a place I can purchase cigars where they honor the grandfather clause since I was 18 before they changed the min age to 21
I heard most places wonβt sell to you regardless and/or they give you a hard time. Anywhere they donβt?
I live on a residential lot about .75 acres in size. I moved in about 6 years ago and have had chickens here for those 6 years. The local town passed a zoning law 2 years ago against chickens and other livestock animals. There is no grandfather clause in the new zoning law.
But I have to imagine that there is a zoning law on the county or state level that would have some sort of grandfather clause in regards to zoning issues as I would not think it would be lawful to apply new laws to previously lawful structures. How would I search for something like this or search case law in a way that benefits me? I am located in Western, NY in Monroe County.

Basically title. I've never needed the account as I only have it on my phone, but I may be upgrading my device and for migration purposes an account should make it much easier. Since I did pay previously, is there a way to go about proving it or whatnot? Also it might be a good idea since recently my auto downloads on new episodes seen hit or miss and the app is sluggish and prone to freezing, so a clean reinstall may be in the cards and I want to make sure I don't lose anything.
