A list of puns related to "Destiny Of The Daleks"
Literally any word would fit.
Just found out that there was a 'special edition' of this 1972 serial. Anyone know what extras it contains?
Am considering a rewatch if it's worth it :)
So, the original idea for the ending of the first Dalek serial The Daleks (or The Dead Planet or whatever) was for a peaceful resolution between the Thals and the Daleks. The revelation would have been that the original neutronic war between the two races was caused by a third race from another planet. This third race would arrive at the end of the serial to make reparations and help with the plight of the Thals and Daleks.
What if this ending had actually been used? How differently might the series have gone? I doubt we would have had further appearances from the Daleks and am unsure if the series would have lasted more than a few seasons (if that).
Round 1: The Dalek appears at the start of the series and goes kill happy.
Round 2: The Dalek shows up before the fight against All Might and AfO.
Round 3: The Dalek appears at the current manga arc.
Bonus Round: The Dalek decides that it wants to become a hero instead, how high can it get in the rankings.
Bonus Round 2: The Dalek becomes a student in Class 1-A and replaces Deku, what changes?
Special Round: How many Daleks could All Might and AFO together take out before dying?
I just finished Genesis for the first time and I would say 9/10 I loved it I have seen davros already in the revival series and I look be him he is definitely in my top 10 villains I am a bit confused on how he survived at the end but I guess I'll find out in later stories but all in all I loved it and is my favorite classic series story I've seen then again I have only seen an unearthly child, spearhead from space, and Genesis but I will continue to watch more
so i was watching DID IT SUCK? | Doctor Who [Evolving Daleks In Manhattan MEGA REVIEW] and a thought came to me that this would have been a nice way to end the big Dalek story lines and write them off the show because even though the are a large part of the legacy of the show things do need to end for at least a while.
despite episodes short comings there is definitely huge potential in there and i feel this of would of made a really good dark character focused doctor only story.
now with dalek caan i wouldn't mind one last episode since he got away in that episode but seeing how in my ideal version of events stolen earth and journey end can't really happen the same way.
Earlier today, the title "Symbiosis of the Daleks" randomly popped into my head whilst I was trying (and failing miserably) to make a point about how convoluted and contradictory the Doctor Who Expanded Universe is. The joke I made was about the non-existent fanfiction "Exterminators from Beyond the Sun" being adapted into the equally non-existent story "Symbiosis of the Daleks." Ever since I made that joke, the titles have been playing on my mind and I'm genuinely curious as to what the episodes would hypothetically entail based on their titles alone.
I don't want to influence anybody's perception of the titles, but personally I believe "Symbiosis of the Daleks" would feature something like this https://www.deviantart.com/mejiro-kun/art/Dalek-Time-Beast-772139182.
I thought it'd be cool to make a thread on my theory of how the Dalek Hierarchy works, based on the ones from the Dalek handbook and War of the Daleks, but with some more Daleks and theory bits of my own. So, here it goes I guess (I need to get better at introducing threads like these).
Dalek hierarchy is complicated. While Cybermen have a very basic hierarchy (Cyberman - Cyberleader - Cyber-planner - Cyber-Controller), the Daleks have a very odd hierarchial system. There are three different timelines for Dalek hierarchy, pre-Evil, post-Evil and Time War onwards.
PRE-EVIL: The Dalek Hierarchy pre-evil is quite simple.
Hierarchy: Silver-Blue Daleks - Red Daleks* & Saucer-commander Daleks - Black Supreme Daleks and the Emperor's guards - the Emperor.
*Red Daleks appear in John Peels, novelisations of the Mutation of Time and Evil of the Daleks. I've put them in the same position as the Saucer-commander Daleks because they are a higher rank than normal Daleks, but lower ranked than Black Supreme Daleks.
POST-EVIL Here's where things get more complex. Post-Evil, there is a massive re-organisation of Daleks. Most notably, we see the introduction of the Gold Supreme Dalek rank, which is above Black Daleks, but below the Emperor.
Hierarchy: Dalek drones (Grey) - Silver Daleks - Red Daleks - Black Daleks - Gold Daleks & Time Controller - The Dalek Supreme - The Dalek Emperor
A Dalek Supreme council has been referenced various times through the program, but it has never been seen. This Supreme council is only referenced post-Evil, however, which leads me to assume that Post-Evil, the Emperor decided to set up the Supreme Council to help him better control the Empire. The Supreme Council makes all the plans and controls the Empire, and the Emperor gives his approval or disapproval of their plans, the relationship between the Emperor and the Council is kinda like the relationship between the Monarch and Parliament.
This leads me on to the Dalek Supreme. He is basically the Prime Minister of the Council. He is the one who leads the Council and has control of the entire Dalek Empire (subject to the Emperor's approval). Now, all this Parliament stuff has probably brought up the memory of the Dalek Parliament from Asylum of the Daleks. I believe the Parliament is what the Supreme Council becomes without the Emperor. It becomes more of a Presidency, thought that doesn't stop the Dalek that rules over it being called the Dalek Prime-minister, or Dalek Pr
... keep reading on reddit β‘I've watched this serial several times, but I just noticed a joke in episode 1. The Doctor is very frustrated by a hard headed military captain who isn't taking his warnings seriously. He just says, with deep frustration, "BRIGADIER" before waving it off as a mistake.
I love the idea that Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart was such a foil for The Doctor that it's a reflex. No matter what Stewart will be THE military man he butted heads with.

The same way they were redesigned for the revival in 2005. Maybe a new design for them feels fresh but classic. I'm personally a fan of the Dalek paradigm but given the fact that most fans seem to dislike their design, I'd like to see another revamp to fit in with the new style of the series (mainly because I'm personally tired of the bronze design they've used since 2005)
So a few questions, would you like to see them redesigned? And if so, what would you like them to look like?
