I got in a pretty substantial car accident back in November that ended up totalling out my vehicle. No one was hurt, but I'm convinced we all got pretty lucky. It was a multi collision in which I was hit on my passenger side behind the drivers seat whilst in the middle lane; Resulting in what I can only describe as being "pin balled" into a few other drivers before spinning around and hitting the median separating the highways with the back of my car. At least two drivers didn't stop.
I started using uber, understanding it wasn't the most cost effective, but less stress than getting yet another vehicle and another car payment (I wasn't finished paying off my car, but got lucky and insurances payout just happened to be enough). It was fine at first and I even got the uber pass and felt good about it. I could save money easier without large monthly payments this way and get back on my feet (Wrong).
Right now I'm sitting on a park bench waiting nearly 20 minutes to go 10 minutes to my location, after having waited around 20 minutes for them to charge me the standard $11 for the trip as opposed to the $28 and then the $38 it attempted too.
I'm convinced this company cares little for its drivers and naught for their riders. It really sucks to not have the means to be self sufficient and then be offered them at a price that is objectively outlandish and inconsidering. And yet...I really don't have a choice right now.
