A list of puns related to "Clean Vocals"
If you're into prog, send me a song! I'm trying to find new bands to listen to. I already have enough classic prog music from the 70s, and I know all the big wig prog bands, so I'm only looking for prog music within the last like 30 years from lesser-known artists. I listen to around 40 different prog bands and have recently tried getting into a bunch of other bands, so I might have already listened to the band you suggest, but send it anyway :)
Are there any bands with clean R&B influenced vocals, similar to VRSTY? Been looking for a while. I know Issues and Emarosa both have solid clean vocals, who else falls into this category?
I have recently been trying to get into Opeth. Their riffs are so sick and Mikael Γ kerfeldt's growls are some of the best I've heard in metal, but personally I find it very hard to listen to metal with clean vocal. Does anyone have suggestions for Opeth songs with as little or even no clean vocals in them?
As the title says I'd like to know in which songs do you guys think Mikael had the best clean and guttural vocals.
When it comes to clean vocals I believe Mikael showed the best clean vocals in the outro of When:
As for the best growls he ever showed in a song, IMO it has to be in this specific part in Blackwater Park:
What are your thoughts on this?
I'm interested to see your answers since I'm always looking for some new amazing music. I'll go first.
Favorite clean song: Arriving Somewhere but not here - Porcupine Tree
Favorite Harsh song: The Drapery Falls - Opeth

I would say the second section of God of Emptiness is probably the gold standard, very understated, and only at the end of the song.
Could be metal/gothic or not, ritual or occult creepy/macabre vibes would be great, whatever you think fits, any genre, i've found some female singers, but not much males, could be theatrical/operatic or not, i know it's too open, but i already know some, probably the most famous ones, and i need to know what can you recommend, it'd be appreciated, cheers.
Edit: I've decided to put this songs as example for what i approximately mean in vibe, so you have a better idea:
Basically Iβm in a band (guitarist). Our vocalist does lows and highs uncleans and is working on mids, but I wanna do the cleans (and some backing screams) and he doesnβt want to/canβt. Iβm not bad but not good enough. Anyone else been in this situation? Iβm sure a lot of the guitarists doing backing vocals in bigger bands started in a similar way.
There are many great clean vocals songs by Opeth, from their early works until now. The ones below are perhaps my very favorite but if you like another one more than any of these, feel free to comment!
I'm a super newbie but I'm absolutely obsessed with mixing and such; I've been making mashups to practice. My timing isn't all that but I'm working on it. The issue is: I try to make vocal stems in virtualdj but sometimes they're not as clean; the vocals will fade in and out at some parts (especially bg vocals). Does anyone have any other program ideas? Or does it just depend on the song? I tried spleeter some time ago. I just want my mashups to sound better and not as amateur
Some examples I can think of would be Bridge City Sinners (folk punk), The Agonist (particularly with Alyssa), etc.
Hey there Reddit, I am looking for a vocalist (all genders welcome) for one of my new songs. The demo includes the lead vocal melody played by an orchestra/strings. The lyrics come with timestamps in case you wanna sing along. Hope you like it!
Come and fly with me (Version 1) (4/4, 160bpm, E-Aeolian)

When I first got into BTBAM in 2007, I have to admit, what first drew my attention was the chaotic and heavy segments and songs like Camilla Rhoades and Destructo Spin. The chaos and BROOT4LITY is absolutely jarring and interesting to listen to. But as they matured and changed, I always found their clean segments sometimes haunting and sometimes uplifting but ALWAYS catchy. And as their catalog grows, their clean segments only seem to get better and better. Whats yalls favorites? Mine are and in no particular order:
"Please pick up the phone..." - The Proverbial Bellow
"We are in this together" - The Grid
"Kill the writer, their eyes follow you" - The Future is Behind Us
"Seize these memories" - Stare into the Abyss
"I see all, I hear all" - The Black Box
"In simple times we must take control" - Fossil Genera
"From the reciting of the show..." - Mordecai
I got quite a few tips on good albums from the recent What is the best prog metal album in your opinion? thread but they were all harsh-vocal albums, which I'm not a fan of.
So, what are your favourite clean-vocal prog metal albums?
so i can't get the high-pitched distortiony tone that i used to, and today when i tried it both hurt and sounded like crap. i thought i was doing it right but my throat was tight and i couldn't get it. i warmed up the same way i always do. if i don't get it back i'll just quit vocals and start playing guitar lmao
I already know a couple of bands but, y'know, being able to understand the actual lyrics or found skilled singers in specific subgenres is sometimes tough, hah.
I don't know if anybody else who does vocal fry has this issue but it always feels like there's some kind of gunk in my throat preventing me from getting my fry distortion consistently. I'm constantly clearing my throat and my performance is just subject to however my throat feels like being that day. If it's clear then I can do pretty great, if it's bad enough then I can't scream at all.
Does anyone have any advice for keeping your throat clean and clear?
I am loving the new Whitechapel and Signs of the swarm and was wondering if there are bands that also incorporate clean vocals. Thanks in advance.
P.s. I know it may not be the most popular opinion but please let me indulge.
My english is not Very good, so apologies for any concordation or gramar error.
And what i mean is lyrically, since the First ep tΓ΄ afterburner I feel little to no connection between what Jonny/Kurt/Tilian and Jon are singing.
There are some exceptions, which are probably some of my personal fav lyrics from them
I really liked JT Cavey's clean vocals at the outro of (ERRA - Divisionary), so I was wondering what other songs he did clean vocals on (if you can recommend me plz). Sorry about my English and Thanks.
Yes I am aware DeathCore is a thing but when I mean no clean vocals I mean something similar to As I Lay Dying's album As Frail Words Collapse.
And when I say vocal affect I mean when he says the words better for a second time and then cluttered for a second time
I don't know how I feel about them. They're trying to be Slipknot even though they have their own identity.

Iβve been trying to get this clean sound for some time now. What exactly is the key factor in getting this? When I try to go for this, I notice that thereβs too much mids in my vocals but when I EQ them a little, it starts sounding a little hollow.
Im trying to make a playlist with songs from metalcore bands that only have only clean vocals. Such as Alone by I Prevail, Skin and Bone by Fit For a King, and The Cool Calm by Saviour. Anyone know any songs like that?
Iβm not a huge fan of Shadow of Intents clean vocals in Melancholy (even if somewhat distorted.) Interested in yalls opinion about cleans in general.
