A list of puns related to "Charlie Higson"
for christmas iβd like to get my sister a book as we are trying to get her into reading a bit more, i recently gave her βthe enemyβ and she is loving it! so i was wondering if you had any similar suggestions? she is 12! thank you!
Have you guys read the Young Bond novels? They are targeted at teenagers but I gave them a try and I am hooked. I read all five original entires and am so surprised that I let them slip from my attention for so long.
They feel very true to the original 14 Bond novels and do a great job in picking up tropes that we love about the character. Higson also accomplishes to establish possible explanations for Bondβs abilities in the Fleming novels.
For those who donβt know about the books. They should be read in chronological order.
I cannot stress enough how good Blood Fever and Double or Die are.
These could be in a slightly altered more mature form awesome sources for a upcoming Bond movie as well.
The book that I want to talk about is called The Enemy. Now, this book is not as scary as some of the other books here, but it is still an amazing read. It is a zombie book about a plague that infects people over the age of 14, while kids scavenge around the streets of London, trying to survive. The kids hide in buildings and landmarks, such as the Tower of London. They form gangs and try to establish a society, while also fighting of the hoards of adults that are now infected.
Warning: review contains some mild spoilers, so if you wish to read it, do not read on
This book follows the story of a group of kids that hide from adults in a Waitrose supermarket. One day, a kid comes and says that they can stay with him at Buckingham Palace, so the kids go with him. Meanwhile, a young boy named Sam has been kidnapped by the zombies, and when he returns to Waitrose, realises that they have left him behind, so he goes to the Palace. For a book aimed at teenagers, it is incredibly detailed and well structured. I love how it shifts perspective from Sam to the kids travelling to Buckingham Palace between chapters which gives a great effect of continuity. There are exiting battles, twists and even a segment where the kids are attacked by zombified monkeys. The best scene was when Sam is taken prisoner by some apparently healthy adults in the London Underground, but he escapes before they can eat him. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone under the age of 16, but people older will enjoy it too.
In the book it talks about the books written Camelot Mine. I would totally read it if itβs a real book about WWZ
Hi I have just finished the whole series of The Enemy and I wanted to know if anyone had any similar series I can read. Sorry if this is in the wrong community it's my first post and I've been dying to get into other books.
