Once upon a time there was a Lonely Rabbit. This wasn't just any Lonely Rabbit though, this was an adorable white with pink accent stuffed rabbit named Abel. Now the Lonely Rabbit wasn't always lonely, in fact she has an owner. But strangely enough the owner was no where to be seen. Normally the two of them were thick as thieves and practically attached at the hip. Actually, at times that was literal. Now you may ask yourself, "What could have happened to have these two besties separated?" Well it was evil, children. A dirty red had played a trick on the owner. In a last ditch effort, the owner sacrificed herself to save the Lonely Rabbit from the the dirty red's trap. The Lonely Rabbit could only watch as it's owner was dragged away towards the enemy's liar. But now this Lonely Rabbit lies in the snow cold, ownerless, and alone. Who will save this Lonely Rabbit and set out to save it's owner?
This happened to my sister when she was in second grade, and I was sort of along for the ride, My sister filled in most of the details later on. Note I don't have any dialogue I remember but I thought it was worth telling.
When I was six my sister was eight years old and had a rabbit, a tuxedo named buttons. She also had a bully who I couldn't remember the name. Based on the memory my sister has she was a piece of work.
Her first instance of bullying was stealing one of my sister's dolls and destroying it systematically, taking it apart so I've been told.
I remember coming home one day from day care and everyone being in a panic. We had a greenhouse my dad built in the backyard which was also were we kept the rabbit in a spacious home made cage. He was gone, which a problem considering how the greenhouse is usually locked. It's possible my dad was building something or working.
I was walking with my mom trying to find the rabbit but the trail of clues lead us to the girl's house where she had our rabbit in the backyard. My dad had retrieved him with a bloody hind leg and from what I could recall the girls were torturing him with a push pin.
I remember the adults arguing a bit, but I never really saw the kid, doing it, just saw everything from the sidelines. I wish I had more of a story to tell with dialogue and such but unfortunately it's just a tale of a savage little brat stealing our rabbit and torturing him. I would bet anything that she was exactly the same kind of jerky entitled brat that you hear of all the time on this subreddit, but it happened 23 years ago.
He was never the same rabbit after that. He did live to be 6 years old though so I wanna say we took good care of him.
I read this book when I was a kid back in early 2000s. It was beautifully illustrated and quite large in size (A4 portrait).
Genre was just random wholesome stories about the animals living their anthropomorphic lives.
Have been looking for years and think this is the place to post. So I remember I had a video tape when I was a child about a farmer and rabbits. There was definitely a heavyset, jolly farmer who featured. The show was based on rabbits and hares. Iβm fairly certain it wasnβt any version of Peter Rabbit. In one specific episode, some of the animals get lost underground and end up in the pipes and sewers and are forced to find their way home. Please someone help as its been on the tip of my tongue for years
Edit - Not Watership Down either
