Height Field Erode "destroys" Subnetworks

I was working on a terrain until my erode node stopped working and gave all of my subnetworks with a terrain input 10 Outputs and I'm not able to open them anymore. I reinstalled my Houdini and uninstalled all previous versions, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix it?

When I try to use an Erode Node I get this Error:

subnetworks and ip cameras?

what is safe way to deploy ip cameras? it is easy to assign them into "safe" vlan, but anyone can take cable out and it will lead to main network, if you get right ip. Should it be connected to separate physical network, or is there a way to isolate device and still reuse switches/cables?

Access host in a subnetwork of a network

Hi,

this is my configuration:

INTERNET <-> F!B 6590 <-> F!B 7490 <-> Host with ssh

All in IPv6, with, off course, public addresses, from the first router to the host.

How can I configure the two routers so that I can access via internet the host with ssh in the inner network (via ipv6, with no nats in between)?

Thanks.

[AE2] ME Subnetworks or one mega network?

Hi,

I am rebuilding my base and upgrading to ME networks. I have seen you can connect many Subnetworks by using an interface and a storage bus. However I am also just no discovering the magic of P2P tunnels on controllers.

So I was wondering if the best play is to have a single brain then P2P channels to each area. OR, should I have one or two central controllers that takes care of linking all of the Subnetworks together, then I can have a single sub network for eg: ore processing, auto crafting, M Ag, etc?

Tia

Why is this subnetwork not moving items into the main system?

I have a subnetwork set up and it shows the channel. Storage bus faces the main network, meaning items in the sub network's own interface should flow outwards. However, when an item goes into the subnet interface it just sits there? What am I doing wrong?

How do I select the RANGE?

macOS and Windows Zerotier client cannot access devices in routed subnetwork while iOS clients can

I've just set up a ZeroTier virtual network and installed a client on my router running OpenWRT (192.168.1.0/24). Now these devices have jointed my zt network (192.168.192.0/24): my iPhone, MacBook Pro with a windows 10 virtual machine running with Parallel Desktop via a simulated NIC bridged to my router. Also I joined my VPS as a moon server. Finally, 192.168.1.0/24 is routed via 192.168.192.1 (actually 192.168.1.2 in my home LAN) by configuration on the Zerotier Central webpage.

Now on every client, by typing zerotier-cli listpeers, the list shows the moon server and every other device. Meanwhile, all joined devices shows ONLINE on the Zerotier Central webpage.

In order to test mutual accessibility, I:

  1. turned off the Wi-Fi on my iPhone and using 4G LTE, it successfully pings every other device in both 192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.192.0/24.
  2. tethered the iPhone 4G data access to the MacBook Pro, it failed to ping any device in either 192.168.1.0/24 or 192.168.192.0/24.
  3. turned to the Windows virtual machine on the MacBook Pro, again it failed to ping any device in either 192.168.1.0/24 or 192.168.192.0/24 except the host MacBook Pro.

I wonder if this issue is associated with my Zerotier configuration or because of the tethering bridge between the iPhone and the MacBook that has even complicated the network?

How to connect to a subnetwork from the main network?

If I have two routers and one set as a subnetwork to the first router, how can I access the web Setup menu of the subnet router while I'm connected to the first router?

Basically the gateway router is setup as 192.168.0.1 and Subnet Router uses 10.1.1.1

And my PC is connected to the gateway router. I can access the web setup of the gateway router. But I cant access the web setup of the subnet router. Also the subnet router is setup as an FTP through its USB port. And I cannot access either the setup or the FTP unless I am physically connected to the subnet router. How can I access the subnet router and its FTP while connected to the main router?

The subnetwork has internet and is working fine btw. I'm new to networking and cant figure this out. I know just the basics when it comes to networking.

Best way to map subnetwork to host IP (nextcloud)

I'm deploying nextcloud via docker, however the way the configuration is set up, it creates a subnetwork at 10.10.10.0/24 on the system it's running on instead of running it on 127.0.0.1. Then the only way to access it is by navigating to 10.10.0.5 on the host machine.

However, I want to be able to access this image from every machine on my local network.

I already have a few things running, so I need to map the port as well.

Is there an intuitive way to map the network such that navigating to 127.0.0.1:2287 maps it to 10.10.10.5? I can't seem to find anything indicating how to do this.

I would think this would have to be a bidirectional mapping since it needs to send data back since it's nextcloud, but I'm unsure about this.

I did try setting up the docker container to report to 127.0.0.1 but it didn't work out. It would only report on 172.19.0.5

If you wanted to see my docker setup, it's as follows:

  1. Create the subnetwork for docker: docker network create --driver=bridge --subnet=10.10.10.0/24 --gateway=10.10.10.1 dockernet

  2. Run docker-compose

Making devices on different subnetworks talk to each others

Hi Everyone, I've been running this setup for a while and I want to tackle it's flaws.

I have an ISP modem/router (default gateway 192.168.1.1) that leases IPs from 192.168.1.2 to ...254. Then there is a really long ethernet cable running from the LAN port of the ISP router to the WAN port of a TP-Link router (default gateway 192.168.0.1) that leases IPs from 192.168.0.100 to ...199.

Now, both routers have DHCP and NAT enabled. There are no probablems getting to the internet from either access point. This is an example of the problem:

-Phone connected to ISP router: can access the configuration page 192.168.1.1 but not the one of the other router (I tried both 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.2 that is the one the main router assigned to the second).

-Phone connected to secondary router: can access 192.168.0.1 but not 192.168.1.1 (or even itself on 192.168.1.2).

The other day I bumped in an ltt video saying to disable DHCP on the second one. It made sense because there wouldn't be two sets of private IPs on the same network so I did it and it broke everything. I had to reset the secondary router since I couldn't even get to configuration page. Then, just to try, I disabled NAT and that obviously killed the access to the internet leaving everything else unchanged and I tried PPPOE which did nothing except that now the main router doesn't show the secondary one as connected but somehow works.

Anyway, I reverted things the way they were but it would be nice to be able to make the second router just a range extender and everyone on the internet says to disable DHCP so just one router handles assignments.

I need help creating a subnetwork at my college residence

Hello! I live in a student's residence, they provide wifi but we have to register an account and link max 5 devices via MAC address for us to use it. There's a repeater in each room with an ethernet port to plug a cable in.My idea is to connect a device to that repeater so that that device acts as a router, thus creating my own limitless (and private) network just as if I was at home, without having to register anything or worrying about device limits.I have been investigating but I have no idea if I need a little router or a more complex device such as those from Gl-iNet (which someone reccomended to me). I have an idea of the setup but my main doubt is that, being so many options on the market, I don't know what type of device I need to do this.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: The main use for this setup would be to use smart home devices such as wifi light bulbs and thermometers, that's why I can't use the residence's network (apart from the device limit), because I need a network I can control, not just Internet access.

Subnetwork question

I am trying to understand the concept of subnetting by doing a simple network.

Pic here

So I want both Production/Marketing to have two subnets of 2046 hosts and the routers to have a subnet of two hosts ( just the routers ). Question is, are the 10.0.8.1-10.0.8.3 (MASK 255.255.255.252) and 10.0.8.4 - 10.0.15.255 (MASK 255.255.248.0) different subnets? Is the network proper? Thanks in advance

AE2 subnetwork autocrafting stopped working for no apparent reason

Had this tiny little subnetwork to autocraft granite to automate the rhodochrosite. It was working quite well for a while. I also have a similar setup to autocraft pumpkins for kekimurus automation. This was also working for a while. Now, neither of them are working and I have no idea why. I can still autocraft on the subnetwork if I put a crafting terminal and request the craft manually. However what's weird is, the granite only goes into the left most slot of the interface and doesn't move to the right most slot where it's supposed to pull it into, thus also not clearing the crafting CPU. It also doesn't pull granite from the main network like it used to if it had the item it needed, even though with a crafting terminal it can clearly see everything there.

Thoughts?

Image: Gray dense cable coming in from left is the transport network. P2P tunnel out to the light blue dense cable is the main network. Fluix cable runs to interface, and towards the barrel controller with a storage interface so the main network can see the rhodochrosite. Subnetwork on the smart cable, can see into the main network storage with a storage bus on the interface (extract only) 1k CPU crafting core, interface on the right with a molecular assembler has the recipe for crafting granite with essence and requests 16 granite in the right most inventory slot, and has a crafting card.
