A list of puns related to "Pipe (fluid conveyance)"
I was out of town for about a week. I came back last night to ceiling collapsed in my house and water running like a waterfall. The worst room of the house that got it was the room with my PC.
I have no guestimate for how long the water was leaking, but first thing I did was unplug the PC and set it somewhere to let it dry. I figured I would let it set for a few days to let it dry on it's own.
I know it's probably a lost cause, but how should I go about handling the PC's first bootup to try and salvage as much of the components as I can?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Forgot to add that this is a rental, so hopefully my renters insurance will cover most of it.
Water relief!
The night of January 5, 2021, an unknown individual placed two pipe bombs in Washington, D.C. Their intended targets were the headquarters of America's two major political parties, with one device each planted at the Democratic and Republican National Committees. While both bombs were discovered before they exploded, the FBI has described them as "viable and could have been detonated, resulting in serious injury or death." Reports have surfaced today that then-Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris was inside the DNC headquarters when the bomb was discovered and was evacuated by US Secret Service.
While hundreds of people have been arrested and prosecuted for their role in the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, no one has been named as a suspect in the attempted bombings. The FBI has released several different surveillance videos that capture the unknown suspect's movements in the Capitol Hill neighborhood on the night of January 5. Those videos can be found here. An additional video shows a summary of the route they believe the bomber took overlaid with surveillance footage from specific locations. The FBI has stated that they "[believe] the suspect had a location in the vicinity of Folger Park from which the person was operating" but that they also "believe the suspect is not from the area." Analysis of the footage has allowed federal investigators to publish the following description of the suspect:
> "The person who placed these bombs wore a face mask, glasses, a grey hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and black and light grey Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes with a yellow logo. The suspect used a backpack to transport each of the devices.
Unfortunately, the trail seems to have grown a bit cold. The Associated Press reported this week that "investigators have interviewed more than 900 people, collected 39,000 video files and exami

Single family residences are what nearly everyone wants. Condos/apartments are easier to create and they are necessary but ultimately, if the city doesnβt grow up, supply wonβt increase. And if demand calls for single family, well then the supply isnβt going to change.
Portland has grown into a major west coast city. Major west coast cities havenβt been affordable for decades. LA, Seattle, SF, SD are all more expensive and not getting cheaper anytime soon. Portland isnβt special in that way. Itβs not going to get less expensive.
There is less expensive housing, itβs just not in the city itself. This is true for most desirable places. Oregon City, Gresham, Troutdale, Battle Ground, Milwaukee, Beaverton are all less expensive than Portland and offer a place to live with easy access to the city. But people are calling for affordable housing in the city, where real estate is the most expensive.
Taxes. Portland has some of the highest taxes anywhere in the country. Regardless of your thoughts on taxes and how they are used, it adds to the cost of living. Landlords pass on property taxes and income tax is taken from your paycheck if you live in the city. Reduce property tax and add a state wide sales tax if you want to reduce the tax burden on housing. Stop allowing wealthy enclaves and suburbs to skip their tax and infrastructure burdens.
Homelessness creates a self sustaining problem. Given the trash, violence and crime within the homeless sites around town, itβs not going to be politically popular to pay for affordable housing if itβs going to be trashed or a violent place to be. People have visions of βprojectsβ and the current situation enforces that potential. Affordable housing doesnt fix mental health nor drug addiction in the short term and it doesnβt fix the lack of generational housing wealth long term. At best itβs a band aid.
If somehow we do create a long term solution, it will be run over by other communities bussing their homeless problem to Portland. Itβs been happening for years. Despite their claims, cities like salt lake didnβt βfixβ their homelessness problems, they shipped them to the west coast. This will only get worse the more resources we put into it.
There are things we need to do in the short term to clean up the streets, get people into sustainable care/ ho
