A list of puns related to "Jews as the chosen people"
im an atheist so I don't believe this or that their even was a god to "choose" anybody, but I find it bewildering that there are so many Christians (especially evangelical extremists, infact mostly them) out there who are antisemitic even though it is made very clear throughout the bible that jews are basically the only people that God even cares about. not sure if its because they are jealous or or because these organizations have alt right followers but if you are a Christian who believes that the bible is absoulute truth and you hates jews, you are a hypocrite.
Iβve been reading through Acts and I can totally see why people might see it as βanti-Semiticββ practically every chapter has some mention of βthe Jews were filled with jealousyβ or βthe Jews plotted to kill him.β I never noticed before how theyβre nearly always portrayed in a negative light. I suppose itβs similar in the OT, but there, God kept assuring them He would deliver them. In the NT, of course, thereβs no deliverance apart from Christ, whom they repeatedly reject.
I understand that after the resurrection/Pentecost, the gospel was to be preached and heard by all people, so my question is not βare the Jews the only chosen people to be saved.β The Hebrews (weak, disobedient, a microcosm for Humanity) were chosen to exhibit Godβs power and bring the Messiah into the world. But now that thatβs done... what are they, now?
Sorry if this has been discussed to death. If thereβs a link to a past thread, thatβd be great, too. Thanks!
Posting from a throwaway because I'm afraid of this question being misinterpreted. No, I'm not concern trolling, I just want real and unbiased answers about this. I've been told that the Talmud, etc. teach that Gentiles (Goyim) are only as worthy as cattle. Do they believe that non-Jews only exist to serve them?
Sorry, you're just not. You're not superior to anyone. Nobody reserved any land for you. The fate of the world doesn't depend on you establishing a colony in the desert.
Thinking about expanding my collection and am not sure what to get. I have been doing some research and seems like Jew/Chosen People, Seasons Greetings, and Holiday packs are mostly the same cards. Is this true? What would you guys recommend getting?
For Christians: I realize that when Jesus came, he extended (mostly through Paul's writings) to everyone the chance to be on God's good side.
But even Christians mostly believe the OT to be accurate, which means for roughly 4 thousand years, God helped only his chosen group, and even sought to destroy others (not necessarily because of race, but being a different race meant you worshiped a different God, as he was only just reveling himself for the first time to the Jews alone).
To me, it seems more likely that a group of people would write themselves in as the favorite, not that God would single out and choose one race above the rest. Thoughts??
And for clarity I mean a similar bible with similar rules and a similar history. Same story of the covenant between god and Abraham.
Wouldn't in that circumstance the aliens be more like brothers to you then other non-hebrew humans? after all they would also be god's chosen.
