Getting rid of mice and rats without an exterminator
My mother is having a mouse and rat issue in her house. She refuses to call an exterminator, yet complains.
I have found tunnels around her house which I suspect are entrance ways. I have taped rocks over them for the mean time (ones that completely fill the hole), and spray cleaning detergents around the area, because I read those will repel mice and rats. I have also set traps near the entrances.
I have read that I should put steel wool in the entrances, but I haven't yet because I think this shouldn't be all my responsibility, as it is mom's house.
Will the rats get fed up and mostly leave when they notice the traps, cleaning smells, and their entrances being sealed off?
