Oh you got into Harvard? Thatβs cool <licks double-scoop waffle cone> how big is their creamery? Oh, sorry, you said βYale?β <enormous slurp of thick ass milkshake> How many flavors did they have?
Have seen some posts here about the awesome food at Crabby Pig, but I tried The Queen City Creamery when passing through Cumberland yesterday on the way to a Frostburg to Meyersdale run. They have breakfast foods, a deli menu, a coffee bar, and some delicious frozen custard. I had the corned beef Reuben and a carrot cake malt, and they were both super delicious. Good fuel for a 16-mile run. π It's about .2 miles from the GAP/C&O Junction, and there's an order window out front, so you can keep an eye on your bike while you order and wait for your food (since there's not a bike rack that I saw). I'll definitely return to try some other flavors of the day.
No pics or anything, but I had this cheese for the first time yesterday and have to recommend it to everyone here.
"Stone Cold Creamery" would have been a huge hit in the 2000's, what do kids love more than Ice Cream and Stone Cold Steve Austin? Nothing! Hell, most of us would have jumped at the chance to get a exorbitantly overprices vanilla scone with Stone Cold's face on it.
"Austin 3:16 says, I just whipped you up a Sundae!"
A marketing opportunity like this may not come around again for another couple of decades.
My local grocery store just started carrying this brand. They use allulose, which seems to be generating a good bit of buzz because of its properties for the ketogenic lifestyle. The nutrition labels are a little more confusing, as allulose seems to be counted as a carb in the label, but it is not a sugar alcohol, so it's not listed under sugar alcohols in the nutrition label. But, I think they are supposed to be about 2 g net carbs (subtracting out the allulose) which puts them on par with Rebel from a nutritional perspective.
I don't understand how anyone can genuinely like cold stone creamery. The ice cream itself is very bland and generic, then you have the employees beating it with a stick until the cookies and other junk that they put in turns into an indistinguishable glob. Since the last time I've been to a coldstone, I've been to probably 30 ice cream shops (found through yelp) around the DMV and cities along the east coast. The places on the bottom of that list most likely had ice cream better than cold stone. Cold stone's ice cream is presented as 'fun,' but I don't derive any fulfillment out of eating bad ice cream.
First off I get not everyone might know Cold Stone Creamery, but it's basically ice cream heaven to me. You pick your ridiculously decadent ice cream and then mix in anything from fruit, candy, cake, brownies, fudge/caramel sauce, and more. To me it's a dangerous place haha. I know there are many ice cream shops like this, but Coldstone has always been my go-to special occasion treat.
Unfortunately I live in winterland right now and it's freezing beyond the point I can handle ice cream, so I need to get my fix another way. Thus I turn to my other addiction, indie perfumes!
What perfumes remind you of Coldstone/other decadent ice cream shops? My typical order is cake batter ice cream with bananas, brownies, white chocolate chips and hot fudge so those notes appeal to me but I'm interested in ice cream scents with any notes. Bonus points if it's super indulgent smelling and makes you want to eat your arm!
There was a post recently about the "owner" of Lafayette Creamery posting on social media. This post had some pretty strong hateful speech towards members of the LGBTQ+ community, muslims, and even abortions.
I was actually so appalled that I messaged Lafayette Creamery about this issue, and I'm thankful that I did. The reddit post claimed that it was the owner making the post on social media. This is not true. I have spoken to the owner of Lafayette Creamery by phone. The person who made that post is his sister-in-law and shares the same last name.
I called the owner after noticing that I was wrong and apologized to him. The original post is still visible, but the account that posted it has since been deleted. In the future, we should all be more careful about the accusations we put here. The consequences of the posts on this subreddit can be damaging to a company in our community. It is incumbent on us to make sure to fact check before posting and trying to "expose" someone.
The owner of the creamery, /u/lafayetteicecream, did make an account to try to get the word out, this is what he posted in the thread:
> Dear Kalamazoo Reddit Community: > > Several days ago a post entitled βLafayette Creamery owners have some interesting viewsβ¦.β was found on this sight. The post included an affirmative comment from a relative of the ownership of Lafayette Creamery regarding President Bidenβs inauguration and a harsh and hurtful interpretation of what the author of the post believed it means for America. > > I want to make this very clear, the person identified as an owner on the site is not and has never been an owner of Lafayette Creamery LLC or any affiliated companies. The affirmation of the aforementioned comments is her own and does not represent the views, thoughts, or any inclinations of Lafayette Creamery LLC and affiliated companies. > > Perhaps some know the story of the American Revolutionary War hero, General Marquis de Lafayette, and understand why we would name an ice cream shop after a Frenchman who passed from this earth nearly 200 years ago. To me, Lafayette represented what we as people should all strive towards. Lafayette was born to great privilege and certainly could have chosen a life of ease in his native France, but he was moved to risk losing his friends, his fortune and his life for the cause of liberating those who came to what would become the United States of America. He was skilled in battle--winning battl
