A list of puns related to "Colorado ice fishing"
I love ice fishing, but have not had a chance to go since i moved to Windsor from Denver. I'm familiar with lakes and reservoirs around Denver and further south, but i'm not familiar with the lakes around Fort Collins and Loveland. I've been doing some research on northern Colorado ice fishing, but the same lakes always seem to come up, which are 2+ hours away from Loveland and Fort Collins. I'm looking for some lakes/ponds within a couple of hours of Loveland which are good for ice fishing.
The lakes I have found within a couple of hours of Loveland so far are:
Chambers Lake
Seaman Reservoir (but you have to hike a mile in if the gate is closed at the river, which would suck with ice fishing gear)
Douglas Reservoir
St. Vrain State Park (10 ponds open to ice fishing)
Red Feather Lakes (Parvin lake, West lake, Dowdy lake, Lake Bellaire)
Multiple websites say that there is decent fishing at these lakes, but is there any other lakes you have heard of, been to, or had success at around Loveland? Would love to hear advice and experiences from the northern Colorado ice fishing veterans!
I have no fishing buddies, or any real ice fishing gear. I was wondering if any of you would mind a tag-along on one of your ice fishing trips. Drink a beer or three, cook up some fresh trout, make new friends.
To be clear, I know how to fish. I like streams, and I love shore fishing. I have my license, and rod/reel etc. just don't have an auger, fishing tent/shack, or a good spot to go to, or anybody to ice fish with. I also have little ice fishing experience. I've only been once. I loved it.
Assuming greater than 15 games played...
LW - Landeskog (25 GP, 13G, 20A, 33P) in 2nd with 1.32 P/GP, behind Ovi.
C - MacKinnon (20GP, 4G, 29A, 33P) in 1st with 1.65 P/GP
RW - Rants (27 GP, 16G, 20A, 36P) tied with Bryan Rust for 1st with 1.33 P/GP.
D1 - Toews (19GP, 5G, 17A, 22P) is in 1st with 1.16 P/GP
D2 - Makar (26GP, 14G, 14A, 28P) is in 3rd with 1.08 P/GP.
The Avs are capable of putting a lineup on the ice, that has three players in 1st for P/GP, one in 2nd, and one in 3rd. For an average of 1.6th in P/GP across the league at their position.
Hey r/icefishing I need some serious help. I am planning on going ice fishing in Colorado this winter and I have no idea what to do. I have all the equipment (auger, pole, tent) but I have no idea how to ice fish. I've seen some stuff on YouTube but I don't know what to throw in, how to fish it... that sort of thing. Please help!
I am just getting started out ice fishing and was curious if anyone could give me some pointers for targeting Kokanee around here.
I have some of the equipment but not the auger. Would be fun to hang out with someone drink beer and fish. New to NB. 49m
