A list of puns related to "Works Council"
Had to get a bar job during COVID times since touring really hasnβt started again in my country yet, they are moving to a bigger venue and Iβm helping with their sound system/room treatment. The council is so worried about the noise that they are insisting on us buying a limiter for the PA system so things βdonβt get too loudβ. Iβve explained it to my bosses, who donβt seem to understand what a limiter actually is either, that this is dumb as fuck and wonβt achieve anything other than making everything sound bad if someone turns things up too loud. We are literally just playing shit off Spotify, maybe will have some acoustic acts as well.
I said we should just keep an hourly log of DB readings incase there is any noise complaints and make sure we donβt go above what ever the regulated level is manually.
Is there anything else people can think of I can put in our license proposal for the council that we can include in a sort of βnoise management planβ? Because it has become clear to me that after having this back and forth with the council no one actually knows what the fuck they are talking about.
Yes, I am a goat. If you vote for me, you can change the history of this game. If you vote goat, future contestants will think twice about bringing an "undeserving" person to end.
By voting for a goat, you're making a statement that we don't respect this glitch in the game. Don't let people hack the finale by bringing an easy win. Make contestants stay true to their alliances.
Finally, although I am a goat, I outlasted you Tiffany, Naseer, Evvie and Shan in Challenges in so please take that into account :)
While Seattle has come to its senses, Lynnwood seems to have lost its mind. The highest fundraising city council candidate is Josh Binda a 21 year old BLM activist. According to local radio and the Lynnwood Times, the activist has submitted $10k in improper campaign expenses.
The expenses include his rents, payments to his GF for groceries, payments to his girlfriend for a laptop even though the campaign bought a laptop, some concert tickets, hair cuts (including one for $162), dental work, body jewelry, multiple car tows, clothes and airfare.
The state will no doubt give him the full Eyman treatment.

After these convoluted years I've realised I probably want to come back home with family, friends and my (at present) long distance relationship, especially since he can't work in the UK due to Brexit. I really enjoy my job, I love it, I like what I do, and the conditions and the people, I don't want to quit. So I was wondering about how difficult - if possible - would be to work remotely from Spain. I'll appreciate any advice. Thanks to the community in advance.
I'm so happy Austin is finally taking an interest in such a disenfranchised group of people. I mean my $275,000 a year salary barely affords me to make my subleased rent at the Independent.
My WFM conditions are deplorable. It's a small two thousand square foot condo with views looking down at homeless people shitting on the streets. These are unacceptable working conditions. I can't code or mine crypto under these conditions.
His charges include
-Conspiracy against the government
-High Treason
-Armed Insurrection
The council has ruled him guilty.

https://twitter.com/labourpatriot/status/1471606229000671245?s=21 As ever I think it's important for the movement to not loose sight of the fact there's some great labour win's happening in devolved powers and this is one such example of that
Posted this to r/Sydney and it was recommended to post here also, so why not. Long post warning
I'm in a pickle and looking for any help. Excavation work begun at my house yesterday for a new pool and while they were digging they found a clay pipe that turns out to be a stormwater main which is part of a drain water easement. Work has now come to a halt and I've got a huge hole inmy backyard waiting for la Nina to fill up for me. Here's a chronology of what has occured:
As you can see, everyone has a piece of blame in what has happened (us included). Seems unlikely council will let us divert the storm water ( if anyone has done this successfully please let me know) so our options are move the pool somewhere else on the property which we don't want to do, try and apply to divert the pipe or encase it, or try get out of the building contract as cheaply as possible. Unless there is some recourse for a council mistake like this one
Am I fucked for ticking the box to say no there aren't any easements? Am I protected by the ACL for the builder not identifying the easement in the plans I provided? Is legal action against a council even a remotely viable option for the failure on their part?
Thanks for reading my long dilemma
Works councils are a labour market institution composed of workers operating at the firm level that can veto certain decisions of management.
Couldnβt works councils be better and more nimble than unions in addressing workersβ grievances about working conditions? ie management decides to force someone to operate a dangerous/broken machine and the works Council vetoes this decision. In Germany, if this happens the employer can take the issue to a conciliatory committee, but in most situations the government representative would probably agree with the workers anyways.
Thoughts?
So weird flex from council, I put in a request to put a larger shed on my property (I have a 6x6 and want a 10x12, metres, not feet) so I have more room to work on my project car.
They were all cool with the shed, but less cool about the electric project car I'm working on
Zoning is Semi-Rural.
Their reasons for refusal are as follows:
>We believe that working on vehicles in a residential area could cause issues due to engine noise emitted from vehicles whilst conducting activities on or with the vehicle in a residential area
Now being Semi-Rural, I have 2 neighbours, and they're totally cool with it, the block across the road is zoned Rural and has a truck workshop on it.
Second, being an electric car, it doesn't have an engine...at all...and the motor that is in it...doesn't make much in the way of audible noise.
At full tilt on jack stands you literally can't hear the motor 100m away (neighbours houses are more than 100m away)
Hell, electric cars are so quiet that in other countries there are laws in place to put sound generators on them so that people can hear them.
The only reason I even mentioned the project car was that they asked why I wanted a 3.8m height on the shed, and it was so I can put a hoist in there to make life easier on my busted knees, I don't have to crawl under the car.
I also did say that it was electric.
I did reply to their email to clarify there would be engine noise, as there is no engine in the car...none at all...and they rang me and asked how on earth the car would work if their was no engine as
>There seems to be some confusion on your part, you're saying you are building a project car with no engine, how do you expect it to function? A car has to have an engine. There is no such thing as a car without an engine.
They also kept saying that an electric motor is an engine...which it isn't...an engine converts chemical potential energy to physical kinetic energy, a motor converts energy to kinetic energy.
So an engine is a motor, but a motor isn't necessarily an engine.
The sticking point seems to be with engines. Not motors.
Now keeping in mind that in automotive engineering circles, this is a relatively new distinction in the last ~20 years, prior to that the terms were generally interchangeable. Even most dictionary definitions still say the terms are interchangeable, though given we are talking about an automobile, then in my view the automotive engineering terms would be most applicable here.
