A list of puns related to "The Chariot"
I'm a bit drunk for the first time in a few months (the CFA is brutal), and I'm scrolling through some old playlists and holy FUCK does Survival by In Hearts Wake go hard. It's the best metalcore song in my opinion, and I've been around metalcore for about 20 years. It also goes crazy live!! So I'm wondering if some other old (or young) timers have that fucking song that never gets old.
FYI this song has everything - grooves, breakdowns, Halo references, solos, no fucking cleans (I do love good cleans tho), and a moshability rating of 100%.
I couldn't help but thinking when I was watching this that if this scene was made today, it would done with cold, austere CGI, that really wouldn't have aged well. That's one of the problem with CGI, it tends to look awful a decade after its release.
Compare that with the chariot sequence in Ben Hur. It took 1000 workers more than a year to carve the circus. It's REAL, and it makes for a dynamic and tactile experience for the viewer. Even though it was made 60 years ago, it has aged extremely well.
I know itβs a small sample size (especially considering they went up against a slumping Jets team and the Sens), but they have looked amazing playing together.
Chariot seems to have lot more freedom to jump into the play and have noticed that he some excellent reads to keep the puck in the zone. Also he seems to be shooting the puck a lot more, and while he hasnβt scored heβs getting the puck through traffic which is allow the habs to get more sustained pressure.
I want Weber get well ASAP, but part of me is hoping to see Chariot-Romanov go up against the leafs on Monday. If they can hold their own there hopefully Ducharm will be able to break up the chariot-Weber pairing.
Ideally this is the D-core is like to us use in the playoffs:
44-26 27-8 32-6
So basically I am planning to run a session of Chariot of the Gods this weekend. I will be GMing and I have roped 3 friends in to play PCs however none of us have any RPG experience whatsoever...
Any and all advice would be appreciated, but specifically I wanted to know if anyone felt that there were certain characters that would work better in a game with just 3 PCs given the agendas and android options etc.?
I will be running the session IRL thanks to lockdown finally lifting and plan to play for a few hours after dinner and to just cover Act 1 with the hope that will hook them in and bring them back for more
they can never get them to hastati
yes, yes, i'll leave....

Elrhain sprinted out of the corridor, tumbled out of the doorway, and bolted across the wooden trail that led to the garden.
βThose no good primitive buffoons! Child marriage is illegal, dammit!β he wanted to roar. His head was aching and he couldnβt think straight.
He stopped in front of the small pond in the garden, grasping his skull. With a gentle thump, he lay down flat on the grass, his legs lying on the damp slope. He closed his eyes in contemplation.
βWhy this, of all thingsβ¦.β
He groaned out in distress, struggling to soothe himself. The spring wind caressed his skin and ruffled his clothes. But it only made him sleepier. βMother will be angry.β
With his headache also becoming dull and throbbing, his mind inevitably drifted back to his earlier life.
βIβ¦β
*******
βListen to me. Calm down and think for a second!β
Memories flooded Elrhainβs mind, and a picture from a lifetime ago appeared like a black and white movie reel. His eyes were still closed, but it was as if he could see, touch, and hear everything with clarity.
Once upon a time, Elrhain had desperately tried to stop Agwyn from making a grave mistake.
βDonβt touch me! You- βshe shot around, but her eyes only had disgust. βI thought you were my friend!β
βI am, and I always will be. I just donβt want you to regret- β
βEnough! You would be delighted if I broke up with Naomi, right? You could have me all to yourself, huh?β
ββ¦ Is that truly what you think about me?β Elrhain asked, a pang of pain in his voice that he tried heart and soul to repress.
Agwyn clenched her hands as she turned away, βYou know nothing about her. So donβt act like you do. Please, I beg you. Donβt ruin this for me.β
Elrhain felt his blood run cold. He could no longer stop her, and she knew it.
Even half an hour after she had left in the rainstorm, he just stood there, staring at the door.
He hoped he could still run out, maybe catch up to her. But he knew she would have a nice supper with Naomi by now.
Elrhain didnβt think he could hold himself from punching her nose in if he had to look at that phony smile one more time. And that would make everything

I think the Signal sent by the 'Masters' which caused GAIA's subordinate functions to gain sentience is the same as the glitch that first appeared in the Hartz-Timor Swarm, or at least has some sort of connection to it. Regardless, I have a feeling Faro has something to do with either of these.
IIRC Elisabet figured out what truly caused the glitch in the Chariot line and used it to blackmail Ted in order to get him onboard with Zero Dawn. They don't mention what it is and somehow somewhere it reactivated again in the future, thus setting off the events in the first game and so on.
or maybe im just looking too much into this idk
Chariot of the Gods is awesome, but, itβs not designed to be run remotely. So much of its drama is dependent on passing cards facedown across a table. But since we canβt all sit down together as safely and readily as we could in the before times, our tables are more likely to be digital. This gulf between the adventureβs intended use-case and its actual use-case is real.
For most people running it, itβs also the on-ramp for new players and GMs. Everyoneβs learning how to play at the same time; the rules need referencing, scenes are interrupted by misunderstandings about what a fast and a slow action areβ¦ it can get messy.
So, this is a bundle Iβve put together to address these two issues. It is full of resources for GMs to run CotG remotely, without using Roll20.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-0qEHsbC70Y1sYdU-yn2kq3tTiLAspRs?usp=sharing
Every asset in there is view-only, but if you make copies you can edit those to your heartβs content.
The tools and assets I created and arranged were all made out of necessity for a game I ran via zoom for five players. Other assets were created by this community. I figured that having them all in one place would save everyone some time. Full credits and IP disclaimer in the Readme.
While a lot of the contents of this bundle are geared specifically toward CotG, many of them are much more widely applicable to ARPG as a whole. I want this bundle to be a living document, so if there are any more resources you think ought to be added, Iβd be happy to curate them (within reason) in the drive. Make suggestions in the comments.
I hope these resources make life easier on GMs and players, and showcase the awesome resources and tools this community has built for that purpose. Make your own copies, reward contributors with karma and, above all, enjoy.

"We're sowwy."
"β¦ sorry."
Elrhain and Agwyn had their heads lowered as they whimpered their apologies.
Eluned had been scolding the two children until the wooden floor started cracking. In the end, it was Bromwyn who calmed her down with a hurried, 'We'll be late for the banquet.'
After a lengthy, drawn-out sigh, Eluned relented at last and brought out a fresh pair of robes and kilts from one bag. These new ones weren't so obviously matching in style and had a different color scheme from the initial pairs.
Only blue and white.
Elrhain recognized them as two of the failures from his mother's many trials and errors. Now he felt horrible towards the woman.
She spent nights awake just to make the perfect dress for them, and they had selfishly ruined her heartfelt work in a soap-opera drama sketch.
'I have to do something nice for her.' Elrhain decided.
Thirty minutes later, Agwyn and Elrhain left their courtyard with the adults for the first time in forever. The three long cycles of mind-numbing captivity was over.
In a clearing, some minutes of walking away, a few beasts of burden were grazing around eating grass with what looked to be baggage full of meat, wild fruit and herbs tied to them. Agwyn excitedly ran towards the herd, and one beast snapped up with a jolt.
It snorted hot air out of its nostrils and raised its horns towards her, its front feet stomping the ground in challenge.
Agwyn stepped back in fear and tripped on her legs.
"It's dangerous, my little gremlin." Bromwyn picked her up before her bottom hit the ground and placed her on his shoulder. The little lady kept a suspicious glare in the beast's direction.
Elrhain shook his head, watching the monkeyshines. Suddenly, his eyes met Agwyns, and he felt his face freeze. He awkwardly smiled at her, but she hid her face behind Bromwyn's head. Then started peeking at him like a timid kitten.
'It's soooo awkward.' Elrhain cringed.
"Elrhain dear, let us follow the chief to his Pengyte." Eluned patted his head tenderly as he was anguishing within, not knowing how to address this headache.
After a while, the Dhionne boy distracted his mind

βItβll be alright.β Elrhain pushed down the nauseous feeling in his chest. βItβs not like we wonβt see each other again.β
He then scoffed, slapping his cheeks hard with both palms. The noise rang in the empty cavern like a bronze gong, and servant Thomos almost jumped out of his shoes.
βDammit, Elrhain, stop acting like a Romeo. This is ridiculous.β
Elrhain sat down on the damp floor and took a few more minutes to calm down and think about the issue. The exact haunting words he said to Agwyn so long ago.
βI almost threw up just now, didnβt I? When she left my sights completely.β
He reflected on those split seconds of his guts churning. He could smell the stink of vomit in his throat and tight pain in his chest as if he could not breathe.
The nausea and pain rapidly retreated after that, as fast as they had come. But they never died out. Even now, he could feel something missing, something both physical and spiritual.
This violent reaction on both his mind and body bewildered Agwyn.
βSure, we have seldomly left each otherβs sight the last three cycles. But this is just too extreme. There has got to more to thisβ¦ ill condition. Wait, could this be what Elder Croneira was talking about?β
Wiping the saliva from the corners of his mouth, he looked up at Thomos.
The servant was staring at him with an anxious expression, half crouched as if to help him up, but his hands stopped awkwardly in the air. Elrhain beamed at him with a smile, and Thomos smiled back, albeit uneasily.
βMister Thomos, Iβm ready. Letβs go in.β He said, noticing the surprise flash across the manβs visage.
Thomos was scrawny and had gills on his neck. His skin was somewhat blue, and Elrhain noticed a thin webbing between his fingers when he let the nervous man hold his hand. But Thomos never held it too tight, as if afraid Elrhain would get hurt.
Elrhain didnβt appreciate that, but he would ponder upon this issue later.
The corridor, like the rest of this underground world, had an ambient blue and green glow. It was metallic, with creaks of water running along cracks.
Elrhain could not see any Murals, which he now found out of place. Only the repeated thudding of two footsteps, one quiet and the other timid.
And he fell int

βEwuned, dance!β Agwyn spoke in broken Uorian.
βEluned is busy, my love. Why donβt you play with my cute Elrhain? He looks like he could use your company.β The older woman grinned as she ruffled Agwynβs blue hair. They had shifted a shade purplish in recent months.
βEllie sits there, think it fun. He ish weak! No pway.β Agwyn pouted. She had a difficult time communicating with this language. It differed altogether from Earth Common.
She hoped Elrhainβs mother, whose name she had learned a few seasons ago along with all their close families, would continue to teach her the dance.
But her hopes waned when she saw Elunedβs eyes twitch.βS-Sorry, dear. I have, um, these shells to carve! Itβs important for the clan. Iβll dance later, okay?β To be fair, Agwyn had bothered the poor woman at virtually every chance she had the last season. Asking unending questions was Elrhainβs job. And hers were to stick to their parents like an overly attached husky.
ββ¦ okay!β She reluctantly let Elunedβs sleaves go, much to the latterβs relief. Agwyn had tried to contain these urges once upon a time. βBut I canβt help it! I have so much energy and nothing to do.β
So now she mostly gave up and went with the flow.
She reflected back to what Elrhain had spoken on the matter, βOur hormones make us childish and dumb.β
She watched Eluned carving the shell into an elegant shape.
There was a heap of them on a twig basket on the side. Another bowl gathered all the shell powder and fragments.
βWhy do you talk funny?β She heard Elrhain speak up in Uorian. The young boy now looked like a three-year-old. His silly face made the derisive look even more unpleasant.
ββ¦ That should be my question! How am I supposed to say βClockβ when I have to pronounce βLβ from the back of my throat? It shouldnβt exist, this awful sound.β She asked back in Earth Common.
She saw Elrhain shrug, and her mood turned even poorer.
It must have shown on her face, as Elrhain made the βcanβt help it,β expression. ββ¦ It just better fits the biology of these βDhionneβ than a traditional language from Earth. Want to rehearse with me after this?β
ββ¦ fine.β She hated

Firstly, i saw Seth Skorkowsky's video on the scenario and i agree with his take that there should be another PC. I drafted a old science officer who served as a marine a long time ago for the GI bill and is just trying to coast to retirement. He is buddies with wilson, who has promised him a cush post on sutters world. He is a rival to davis, who has tried to bust into his chem locker more than once. I wanted to ask if anyone has added another PC to the group, and their experiences with it.
Secondly, my players are all very new to this style of rpg, most of them being combatwombats. This will also be one player's first rpg. They are very eager to try a different style of game, but my concern is assigning the "interesting agenda" at the beginning. Does anyone have any advice on helping new players with that type of party subterfuge, or if i left it off or assigned it to an NPC would the scenario suffer as a result?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
