A list of puns related to "Social Control"
Especially in meme / gaming related communities with lots of young men. Sometimes I try not to show any indication that I'm a woman and I'm not treated any differently. But any girl who tries to be a little more engaged with the community is instantly called an attention seeker... Memes like 'woman moment', 'go back to the kitchen', or 'didn't ask plus you're female' are so common everywhere and it hurts even though it's not aimed at me directly. It's just scary how these kids are indoctrinated.
I remember a few months ago in Australia, they just enacted a law that allows police to hack your device, access your social media pages and accounts to add, gather, change, or remove data, and even take over your social media accounts without a judge's request.
The new orders gave police the power to hack into suspected offenders' computers and networks, seize control of their internet accounts and identities, and disrupt their data.
And I was wondering, would decentralized social media, for example, be able to fix this? So I read an article online that talks about decentralized social media and it could do something using privacy-enabled blockchain projects to combat this?
The way I see it, it almost sounds like some CCP thing or from a movie called 1984. I can see why governments would want to remove your social media stuff, but why would you want to change or add to it? Is it so they can accuse you of anything and then claim they caught you red-handed?
Ok with ppl following celebs' IG activity (with how some people figured out Kylie was pregnant again or so-and-so broke up or so-and-so has a secret account), what do y'all notice is some little differences between celebs who control their own social media and those whose team does it for them. For example, I think Selena Gomez's team manages her IG and then you have celebs like Zendaya, who I would think are too busy to run their own but they do? So ppl who notice celeb online activity, let me know your takeaways pls!
Our sex drive is a powerful thing. Deprived of it, people can do crazy things that they wouldn't otherwise do. One of them is to marry the wrong person.
In the natural state of horniness that clouds their better judgement, they marry the wrong person to get their rocks off. But sadly, like I've seen in several couples around me, the sex that they've put on a pedestal fails to materialise sometimes. Dead bedrooms, unsatisfying sex, and then even more sad things happen - adultery, divorce with kids in tow, etc.
Sexual compatibility exists. Just like how we acknowledge there's compatibility elsewhere, there is this factor here too, that has a major influence on the satisfaction in the relationship. Just because a couple has genitals doesn't mean there's sexual compatibility. And not all of it is malleable, just like in other forms of compatibility.
Sex before marriage saves marriage.

I'm a 27 year old content creator in my area, I don't have a huge following but it's considered a lot for the place I'm in. There's also 4 other content creators in my area, same age as me and we used to go in the same high school. 3 of them make similar content to mine since its really popular in our community, the other one makes different content.
So anyway, these girls used to be the mean girls in high school which is needed for context.
I started being content creator 3 years ago, these girls started just last year. Since then the 3 of them make similar content to mine and I honestly didn't care, I found it suspicious since they used to mock this kind of content but I didn't comment on it at all I just focused on my content.
Now two weeks ago I was sent some posts about them throwing subtle shade at me and I was asked to comment on it. I said I don't want to entertain it at all. Some of my followers got a hold of what was said and they commented on these girls posts to delete their shady posts because it's not classy to do that. After that I have started getting horrible messages and comments in both my tiktok and Instagram asking me to control my fans and stop them from "bullying" other creators, while these comments were actually cursing me out in the worst ways.
I made a video and encouraged my fans to let this go and be kind and there's no reason to engage in petty drama. My fans actually toned it down for a bit until these other creators made a joint video encouraging their fans to attack me. To that my followers responded with some insults and I'm honestly tired of all it because it was so unnecessary and unprovoked.
I ended up commenting on one of the girls posts that "I made a video encouraging people to stay out of it but at the end of the day I can't control everyone's actions and I never asked for any of this. I'm not their mother and if people wanna engage in petty drama they'll do it regardless of what I say".
Now people are calling me TA for not discouraging my fans from engaging in a drama that someone else started and they claim I'm enabling them by not scolding them. I just want this to be over and move on, I'm just making content for the fun of it but I never asked for any of this drama I just want to enjoy myself. AITA?
Many of us think that everyone should contribute to the funding for services that serve those in need and the community overall. Often this is assumed to happen through a central or municipal government that collects taxes and decides where the money is put.
Many times, however, politicians put the money where the voters didn't want it to go.
An alternative is to tax everyone and then let people to choose where the money goes. Everyone would get a share of the total tax pool to allocate to nonprofits providing social services. This would work like a crowd funding platform, but for healthcare, schooling and other such stuff.
This way the taxpayer can influence the choices more easily. No need to know every single point in a party program to know where the money goes after a vote. Just have one good place in mind where the money is needed, and you are contributing to the wisdom of the crowd.
This would free political bandwidth. Tired of constant budgetary discussions and social services micromanagement? That would not be job of politicians anymore, allowing them to focus on other things that matter.
This would work well with services that need to be separate from government. Governmental funding can hurt the independence of universities and public media. This scheme would not create such dependence.
The funding can get more stable. When the party in power changes, budgetary funds get often reallocated to fit the political agenda. When individuals choose the funding, there would not be such party flipping effect.
So overall this would make the government less monstrous, but still allow social services to be funded fairly.
Any thoughts?
What's popular/unpopular, liked/disliked, approved of/disproved of, etc. Wish something had more or less likes, dislikes, or views? Done! Wish more people were talking or paying attention to something, or stopped entirely? Also done. Also works individually, with anyone anywhere.
My anxiety is so high. I canβt get a job because of it. Please help me . Itβs ruining my life
I'm not a tanky, but I think most people are at least somewhat familiar with Uyghur fighters padding out ISIS's foreign fighter roster and the relationship Tibetans exiles have had with the CIA and other relevant organizations; if you're in a major city in the US, you've likely seen fliers for Falun Gong-related media. Something like Qanon could only have popped up in a unfettered social media environment, and I can only assume that from a Chinese perspective that the US was unable and still is unable to crack down on Q-adjacent beliefs is a sign of complete and total 'weakness' in it's ability to express authority.
