For public history projects how do you find the right balance between acknowledging racist activities and language in the past without being offensive in displaying it?

This is potentially a very specific question but I think could be a broader discussion as well. I have been putting together school timelines as part of a public project. https://arcg.is/0598a90 (I am not doxing myself here, this account has only been for talking about the project). Many of the "entertainments" that the white schools put on were minstrels or blackface plays, this was the US South in the 1870s-1950s. Some of the black schools also put on minstrels, but much less frequently. I also have one instance of a photograph of students on a parade float in blackface.

These are intended for an high school audience and not to get political, but this is in a state that just banned CRT in schools yesterday and a county where things have been pretty contentious over an optional African American history course being offered in high schools. So I'm not sure what children are being taught or will be taught in the near future. I'm also not sure what the proper public history protocols for things like this are these days as its been almost a decade since my last public history class and I've been firmly on the archaeology side since then.

Do you include the newspaper clippings [or other images/texts] but acknowledge these were racist depictions in the explanation? That is what I've been going with so far. Or do you mention the event in text but don't include the image? What about the blackface photograph? Or an article that casually uses the n-word to describe a kid's Halloween costume?

For real - as a solo player and seeing this, damn it’s fun. Vex Offensive is intense. Sure it’s repetitive but regardless, found myself playing it all day when able. Will be doing it.

Edit: For those who keep saying β€œWe had Menagerie.” I know. But I specifically said VEX.

Is it a essential to be familiar with powershell if u're interested in offensive activities against win env ( WMI / AD/DC pentest etc ... ).

Hey I hope u're all doing well on the other side of the screen . First of all I'm kind of interested in the internal red team activities and I've found a framework built in .net by ( Fox-IT red team ) the purpose of it is evading restrictions since companies now are aware that the powershell can be executed by an intruder so .net is an alternative for it that can be used to run the same codes with a low likelyhood of being caught . This made me wondering if powershell still worth my time or should I go for .net .

The second thing is with the existence of many frameworks that executes powershell/.net for us ( automated offensive processes ) do I still needy for a bit of scripting using one of those mentioned above ?

Vex offensive, another amazing activity, with disappointing loot

I seriously hope that hardmode will drop the Phenotype armor-sets, aswell as the heavy machine gun and autorifle we can aquire from the season pass.

Right now, besides a t1 and t2 powerful, there's absolutely no reason to go in, atleast not for loot. An armor-set that is (IMO) unbelievable ugly and you get it like 4 times from the season pass before and 4 weapons that are just not really interesting.

Its a shame, bc the area itself and the activity are extremly fun and just gorgeous to look at.

I'm going shopping soon and might as well buy supplies for causing mischief, give me good ideas whether they're illegal or not.

  • Already gonna buy some liquid ass to spray assholes who refuse to wear masks or social distance.

  • Already bought little self-defense products for friends and family like key rings to use like stabby brass knuckles. Haven't bought pepper spray or anything else to gift to people yet.

  • 100% legal but I might buy some low quality but not completely hideous used books to carve hidden compartments in them for friends/family to hide weapons and valuables.

  • I personally don't shoplift but I 100% support other people ruining scumbag companies like Walmart.

Bonus points if I can get away with it for being sick/disabled, might as well use my decrepit body for something good.

The CEO of the hospital I work at keeps vetoing my department's annual activity idea (Bra Decorating), claiming it's "offensive." How can I convince him to give us the go ahead this year?

I work in the radiology department of a 25 bed hospital in a small town of about 6,000 people. We do an annual activity week we call "Mammo Week" during October for breast cancer awareness month. Each year we have a decorating contest. Examples of past years have been: "Save your Rack" (Decorate antler racks), "Give cancer the boot" (Decorate boots), and other mediums such as pumpkin decorating or cake decorating. While these are all great and fun, we've never done a bra decorating contest. Every year we ask and our CEO says no. Excuses include, "It's offensive" and "It's a fire hazard." I'm determined to convince him otherwise. Every other employee I've spoken to has been supportive. What can I say at our meeting next week?

We need to give credit where it's due , the Vex Offensive is a perfect activity and a culmination of everything bungie has learnt.

Just an appreciation post for the Vex Offensive. The players have been asking for a horde mode for a long time and Bungie has delivered. It's fun and gives you an opportunity to just slay out and experience the power you have been collecting. When I say this, I mean that for months we've been chasing god rolls of weapons and it's very satisfying to have an activity where all we do is just unleash hell on countless of Vex. The loot is also perfect. We have targeted farming that we all loved from the menagerie, guaranteeing a specific weapon at the end of the activity. Not only that, but each encounter drops weapons and armor. It feels satisfying and rewarding to play, which was one of the menagerie's problems with a single piece of loot. We've been just wanting to loot and shoot for the longest time, and that's what this activity gives us. The quintessential loot and shoot experience

TL;DR: Counterfeiting shares of GME is like counterfeiting money! Counterfeiting money is indictable as a federal offense. Recent DD points to the the shorts having doubled down and resetting their FTD through options again. Yet regulators and MSM turn a blind eye and actively try to suppress the issue.

While regulatory changes have been implemented, no execution of the rules have been enforced to curtail the illegal, unethical, unfair, deceptive, abusive, anticompetitive, and unfair business practices identified by apes as being utilized against GME.

Further to this, Wall Street and Main Street Media (MSM) downplay legitimate concerns raised by retail. Nothing has changed since Fannie Mae & Freddie May back in 2008; In fact there is a very strong correlation from then to what we see today with GME. Where is the accountability and when will things change?

Employer is actively encouraging workers to continue working after receiving positive COVID test results. Is this a reportable offense?

I live in New York city. I just learned that one of the managers that works for our company recently tested positive for COVID. He proceeded to continue to come into work himself and additionally encouraged several employees to continue to come into work after receiving positive test results and even feeling symptoms. We are a chain of cafes that are all over the city, and our staff intermix between numerous locations as per our labor needs.

I have worked for this employer for over 4 years, and I have good reason to believe that the manager in question was probably told/expected to continue working by the company owners despite testing COVID positive.

Is this something I can report to the DOL? If so, what does that process typically look like? Thanks in advance for any help

On June 30, 2008, when all shares available to trade were owned by reporting institutions and less than one month before the SECβ€˜s emergency order went into effect, the NSCC reported that the fails to deliver of real shares of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was zero**.**

The regulators turned a blind eye to the takedown, encouraged it or were not effective enough to recognize it and enforce the laws against market manipulation that have existed since the 1930s. The industry and the regulators have little room for a plausible deniability claim that they did not know what was occurring in the trading of the GSEs.

It is not possible to carry out this massive fraud without the cooperation of large Wall Street firms and regulatory complicity, indifference or lack of competence.

Naked short selling is cute terminology developed by Wall Street to confuse the fact that this is simply a method of counterfeiting shares of U.S. publicly traded companies. Historically, when the issue of Wall Street firms selling stock they do not own has been brought to the attention of large Wall Street firms and the financial media they own, their response has been to shoot the messenger so the truth of the message can be ignored. This has played out time after time when the subject has been addressed and those commentators who have continued to call for Wall Street to stop the practice have been pressured by the industry to drop the issue.

The DTCC has publicly published information
