A list of puns related to "Mixing Console"
I own an audio mixing console, and recently sold it via PayPal to a Church. I shipped it last week, and the new owner sent me confirmation that it was received and in good shape a couple of days ago. About a day or two after shipping, PayPal limited my account. I didn't realize this meant I was in trouble, but I guess something about sending $17,000 on an account I hardly use was suspicious to them. They asked for proof of "fulfillment", as well as a receipt from my "supplier". So I think to myself, "okay, I don't really sell stuff too often, but alright, I'll give them the original purchase receipt and tracking number, sure." They came back and asked for 6 months of bank statements (from a personal bank account that I don't really use), to explain my account activity change, the explain how my business works, more tracking numbers, as well as a website.
I provided them all the information, and shortly after doing some Googling, I noticed they have a nasty habit of holding people's funds for 180 days, and then at the end of the 180 days, citing "Acceptable Use" policy violations and docking them $2,500 per violation until the funds are deleted, without giving notice of exactly which aspect of the policy was violated. I combed through their User Agreement and Acceptable Use policy and found no violation. The closest thing I could find is a violation of their "Activities Requiring Approval" policy, to which the "high value items" section may apply, but it gives examples, and language that implies "operating as a dealer in jewels, precious metals, and stones", none of which apply to the item I soldββnor am I a dealer of any sort. I was simply selling a one-off item.
I have a pretty good feeling that this is going to get nasty. Is there a way I could refund the payment to the seller (who will gladly wire the money over now that they've received the item)? Can PayPal put my account negative $17,000 and then (successfully) send it to collections when I refuse to pay it? Would that stick, or would I have an argument against them for the credit bureau? Can they debit my connected card/bank account for the funds without my consent? At this point, I will never, ever use PayPal again, so I really could care less what happens to the account, I just need my money back. I don't know what to do.

Hello folks! I have a Samson L2400 mixing console and the Phantom Power stopped working. Upon further inspection, there was a resistor that blew out (probably from me hot-plugging a mic) and I cannot find a schematic of the power assembly board that tells me what this resistor is. Since it's blown, I don't trust the meter. Does anyone know what the resistance is on this? See attached.
Any help would be appreciated!

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm suddenly super interested in how mixing consoles work. Is it an individual compressor on each track, each with its own tube, or is it a single compressor with many inputs? Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this.
Out of a mixing console what I'd ideally like is 16 mono channels, at least 2 sends, an interface built into it so I can post process while mixing if I want to or need to as well as execute multitrack recording, and no fx (this seems to be the hard part). I've inherited a rack from a friend recently and plan on filling it with fx and synths so the fx built into a mixer is nonessential to me but seems overly popular with newer mixers.. I'm not looking for anything fresh on the market necessarily either, preferably something I can buy used at a reasonable price.
Any insight helps, thanks!
Its become a pain in the ass to learn this interface but when things finally work its incredible.
Hi. I am looking for brass instrument VSTs like saxophone, trumpet, etc., orchestral instruments like the cello and violin, a turntable to simulate using a vinyl record and a plugin that emulates an actual mixing console. Now DAWs do have an in-built mixer but I would like to learn how to use an actual mixing console, because I don't have access to one.
By writing this post, I am no near to spend 10k on a console but, I would like to get some insights into competitive models and start to save up for my needs in near future (hopefully!) :)
My ultimate goal is to have centerpiece in my home studio, I was watching a few videos about the Audient 4816 console and it looks damn pretty and versatile. clean and flexible with routings (though it does not have any dedicated 500 slots, you may use inserts)
Maybe if, (yes... if) I'd get one around 10~15k (new or used), what would be your choice?
The thing is I do not track multi (hardly), I do not track drums (..for now).
May I hear some advices from elders/professionals, from your personal experience, what would be a good choice for dedicated home studio, no need for 32 channel mega console but a medium sized all-around well built mixing console? (I am also very interested in hybrid mixing setup with DAW, probably around 8~16 channels)
I am also very keen to enter the 500series world!
Again, this is my long-term goal but I would love to get some rough guidelines from you all, thanks in advance!

Hey guys, im currently building a mixing console for my studio, and i would be interested what ideas u guys have to make it CHEAP as possible. Im already building all the 2way switches myself, as well as the mono jack connectors. Its 20 channels, 4 bus and main L R.
This is probably directed more at older folks but anybody can chime in because I'm bored.
Mine was the X32 around 2013-2014. Yeah I know I'm spoiled.
Until 23 May
