A list of puns related to "Military Campaign"
Firstly I just want to say that I like to plan a few different ideas for campaigns and let the players choose what they like the look of, so I'm not going to force anyone to play anything.
I am thinking of running a campaign where the players are part of a military force as shown in the Tasha's patron section. I think it might be fun to play a game where the players have actual authority they can use to get things done.
I like the idea that they also have ranks. If they resolve issues with minimal collateral damage then they get points, once they go over certain thresholds they get a promotion, with higher pay and authority. Do these pay bands seem reasonable for a daily rate?

Separate to this they would have a mission budget they can use for their expenses and can of course loot those they kill to gain more individual wealth. Eventually they may get given the funding to make a permanent fortress they can use as a base.
One of the players would also act as the leader, giving back simple mission reports and feeding back what the new missions are. One thing I did think is what happens when everyone is promoted to high ranks? It doesn't make sense for a group to consist of all captains.
Hi everyone, as stated in the title, in my Master's Thesis I study Call of Duty single player (especially the original Modern Warfare trilogy and MW 2019, since my time frame is "Post 9/11", so mostly about contemporary/modern conflicts, but I also touch on Black Ops/WaW...), and I feel like I could use some other perspectives on the matter. I'm really interested in you personal experiences with the series and its stories.
That's a lot of question, so feel free to answer those that you feel comfortable with, as vaguely or in depth as you want.
I'm asking about demographics to get some idea of who's responding, but it's optional.
(I'm not looking to spark any debate about "it was better in the old days" or "campaigns are too short it sucks", nor am I asking "did video games make you want to murder people ?" so please don't force yourself to anwser if it's just to say that, thank you. However, if you want to say something not covered by the questions but that is relevant to the overall topic, go ahead !)
Hello Everyone! :)
I'm about to DM my first ever campaign in a couple of weeks and I have an idea for a campaign (My plan is to do a couple of starter quests so me and my friends can set up and prepare, then have them sail to a new location which my campaign is set in)
So here it is ( Any criticism or suggestions are appreciated ):
So the campaign will take place in a continent with your run of the mill fantasy races and kingdoms (Elves, Humans, Dwarves, etc) but they basically all hate each other due to race politics and discrimination. But the one race/kingdom that Hates everyone the most are the Dwarves who have been hiding in their mountain kingdom for hundreds of years grudging and innovating to the point that most kingdoms think they've gone extinct. This isolation was because a long time ago Orcs (Who are basically nomad tribals in the continent) formed a confederation to fight against the kingdoms because almost every kingdom have been attempting to expand into orc territory (Insue racism and mass slaughter) but all the kingdoms decided to form an alliance to stop the orcs, but one battle the Dwarves we're left behind and got slaughtered by the orcs. Because of this, the Dwarves left the alliance vowing to never forgive the other kingdoms (this didn't really stop the other kingdoms from defeating the Orcs.) Come back to current times and the human kingdom gets a new king and he wants to bring peace with everyone, and it works! (Except for the Dwarves, and a lot of people still hate the other kingdoms regardless) Finally, the Dwarves come out, but for war! So all the kingdoms (Thanks to the new human king) form an alliance to defeat the Dwarves, but they all fail because the Dwarves invented gunpowder and basically bombard everyone (Cannons and guns will basically be late medieval period style, handcannons and traditional cannons but mass produced) The alliance dies off because all the kingdom's main forces were destroyed and it's every kingdom for themselves. Dwarves win, take over the continent and then we cut to the player characters.
The characters will be hired by rebels who snuck out of the continent to look for skilled Mercs (Rebels are basically infighting and are under equipped to fight the Dwarves.) And the rest is up to the PCs, they can either help the rebellion or join the Dwarves to crack down on rebel activity.
That's what I have so far so any suggestions or criticism is much appreciated. :)
