A list of puns related to "Medical Service"
REMINDER: I am not the OOP, this is a repost sub.
Warning: Unsatisfying update
Internet provider customer service rep wanted to be on the phone call with me while my sister was having a medical crisis and be involved in the conversation.
We use a common internet provider, big American company name. We have internet with them and my mom called them to upgrade to include cable TV into the plan. She came to a plan agreement with them and the rep proceeded to pitch the new mobile phone plan that the company is rolling out. After the generic sales pitch my mom told her that she wasn't interested in switching cell phone providers, the rep wasn't relenting. Finally after 40m she talked my mom into a "well maybe we'll think about switching, but let me get my daughter to discuss the plan because she's on the plan too and is the one who pays the bill".
[NOTE: This was all on speaker phone so both my mom and me could hear her and she could hear us both. Also my mom is over 70 and knows almost nothing of cell phones, especially smart phones.]
This is where I came into the conversation. The rep pitched the sales deal to me and rambled off a bunch of junk tier phones at ridiculous prices. I was upfront with her about how those deals were awful and we weren't interested in the slightest. She kept pitching more and more info at me, I kept telling her that I'm not interested and to just process the cable TV part of the deal. She outright refused to process the order for cable upgrades without us agreeing to a phone plan. I told her that if phones were forced as part of the cable package that we were also no longer interested in adding cable and to cancel the whole plan.
She then hit me with this number. "The deal was going perfectly until you showed up. I don't want to do business with you, put your mom back on the phone." I called her on her underhanded and patronizing sales tactic and told her that it wasn't going to work on me, I knew the deal was terrible and not worth it. She began clapping back with rude comments like "I don't understand why you're so against a good deal, you don't know good deals" and "please leave so I can talk to your mom alone, she was sensible".
I told her I wanted her name so I could report her. She ignored my request and kept on doing her s

Just as entering credit card information onto a website was inconceivable in the early days of the internet, it may be difficult to conceive a system that maintains all of our data in a private wallet. However, before the cloud, we used to keep everything on our own computers. We couldn't have imagined employing cloud technology for even a quarter of the things that are now standard.
The Cloud is not decentralized data. The Cloud is a proxy for centralized services managed by major organizations located far away, which you must rely on. The decentralized web is similar to BitTorrent or Napster. It is not operated by a single service, and you do not need to rely on a single party.
Although cloud computing has certain scalability benefits, decentralization is far more resilient. There isn't a single point of attack. Data saved on a Cloud service can be removed at any moment if any terms are violated. When you own your own data on the Decentralized Web, no one can take it away from you, neither the government nor anybody else. This is becoming an increasingly critical issue in many countries.
Almost every service we use saves our data and then costs us a price to get it. Many free applications do not feature an offline option, forcing users to share their data at all times, even if they would like to keep it private.
At some time, it will be cheaper and safer for each of us to function as our own personal servers, especially when it comes to our medical information, which is the most personal of all.
I want to share my experience in finding help as a male victim in the Seattle area. For the most part I didn't feel motivated to post this because it seems like everyone just assumes that the bias is there, no need for personal experience comfirmation. But this week I discovered that even privileged medical relationships for trauma victims are subject to this bias and exclusion. I find this horrifying and unethical.
In 2020 I had been out of rape crisis therapy for a little over a year and I was beginning to relapse under a lot of stress. I waited for months for an appointment with a psychiatric doctor for formal diagnosis. I was diagnosed with CPTSD and the Dr expressed concern that I was an at-risk patient because I had moved back to the place where I was abused, alone, and although self-harm was in the abusive past the symptoms were still severe. She referred me to Harborview Abuse And Trauma Center. I did an intake with a LICSW at Harborview and was put on a waiting list.
However, while waiting I lost my job. My next job was a contract which meant no healthcare and no eligibility for Medicaid. I was concerned that this meant I wouldn't be able to go. When I got a phone call from the receptionist at Harborview I mentioned that I had lost my insurance. She very quickly said oh that's too bad, why don't you apply again when you have a job? I felt discouraged and tried calling some of Seattle's nonprofits for help, all of them rejected me for services.
Following that, I had a very bad year that seemed to get worse every month. Eventually while unemployed I signed up for Medicaid. I was strongly encouraged to return to Harborview at my new Doctor, I agreed because I felt very anxious about talking to therapists who don't work with sexual trauma and abuse. I called and the receptionist told me they stopped accepting Medicaid that year. She asked me detailed questions about my trauma and referred me to Sexual Violence Law Center. I messaged them and SVLC refused me service. In Seattle DV nonprofits refuse you service by referring you elsewhere, the woman who referred me didn't even give me a relevant referral sending me instead to website where you can fill out your own common legal forms. It had nothing to do with sexual violence or victim advocacy.
I did nothing about this for a while because I was discouraged. However, yesterday someone told me they received free care without insurance at Harborview Trauma. Sure enough, I looked up what I hadn't before

βI understand but I have told you well in advance and this is a medical condition i wasn't aware of and don't know how long I will be under treatment. So I request you on humanitarian grounds to refund as I would need any and all funds for my treatment. I know the contract states that the deposit is non-refundable but I would request you to refund and we promise we will work with you in the future.

This service is scheduled in two weeks, I have no chance of booking anyone else.
I live in the South Bay (Silicon Valley) California. My 8 month old puppy threw up twice yesterday night, showed no interest in food and seemed super lethargic. Normally he is a voracious feeder. My wife freaked out and took him at night to a Pet Clinic. They had him admitted, put him on IV, did a battery of tests. I am being charged $4K for it. Currently the diagnosis is that:
"His bloodwork looks great, with just mild inflammation, everything else is normal. His X-Rays did show some possibly foreign material that is already in his colon and a large amount of fluid in intestines but no obstruction and no need for surgery" The current plan is to run an additional X-Ray and then discharge him later in the afternoon.
I would greatly appreciate advice from this group.
1: The $4K sounds pretty excessive. Do people agree or is this par for the course in an area like the California Bay area where cost of living is high.
2: Should I try politely contesting the bill and try to bring it down? I do have pet insurance (Healthy Paws) with $500 deductible and 80% covered. So if everything goes well and they don't weasel out, I will end up around $1400 (which is still a considerable amount of money).
3: Did we over-react by taking the pup to the clinic. Should we have just waited this out?
I don't know if this belongs here but if anyone of you has any knowledge about how government salary payment works in medical sector, please help!
We've visited the district office 4-5 times but their "after 3-4 days" never comes. Is there any time limit for the salaries to be dispatched? To whom should I contact or write to regarding this matter? Or if there are certain cases where the payment gets delayed due to genuine issues on the administration's side?
And yes she was posted in North Maharashtra.
Hello, redditors!
Why am I writing to you now? I would like to share my thoughts on the young projects concerning decentralization. And could you believe it, but it isn't connected with financial assets or any earnings. No ads, no advice, only private thoughts.
What is the greatest disappointment and pain that has befell you during these corona years? Money loss? Maybe job loss? Adaptation to on-line? Something else? As for me, the biggest disappointment was the revealing of the weakness of the healthcare system. No matter what country you are from.. All of the existing ones have demonstrated their vulnerability. There is no trust in them anymore. There is a huge overload in clinics during this βpandemicβ which we havenβt seen ever before! What a nonsense. The doctors are dying. Those who are not, are getting retired. They were promised to get extra bonuses, but in fact they were cheated. Π‘onsequently those doctors decide whom to help only according to the amount of bribe.. We see a lot of disadvantages of the traditional system as well.
DeHealth is the new possible aid for humanity in whole. AI has been implemented as a primary support for people. DeHealth also provided a unique application which gives us an opportunity to be treated or consulted just with a few clicks. Just in a few minutes. Just on the go without queues and clinics. We have to consider it as a real alternative. Because even the countries with secondary economies already tryna implement this. Itβs working! Letβs be responsible.
In February, 2005, I started as an EMT Basic with an urban provider for a few years; followed by more than a decade as a rural provider that covered an area larger than 3,300 sq. miles. After I transitioned out of the field, I worked as a captain (supervisor), later chief officer (manager), and then administrator.
Today, I work for a large ambulance provider as a talent acquisition specialist that specifically recruits emergency medical care technicians. My entire working life has been spent either behind the wheel of an ambulance, or managing those that do.
Ask me anything!
As someone who was always made to (for better or worse) give a full presentation on each patient, it's made me uneasy about presenting as a PGY-1 when I see them just giving pertinents. Tried to do it once on a sub-i and was told "your still just a medical student, give me the entire presentation." What do?
Did you think your result was accurate?
Also, link to the test if you have not taken it.

Iβm not sure why itβs been so hard to find a straight answer about this. Lots of campus literature says initial training is two-four weeks then the recruiter said it was basic (10 weeks) then state OCS for 18 months.
Then Iβm also hearing that you need to make sure to talk with an AMEDD recruiter, but canβt seem to get them to put me in touch with a medical recruiter..
Any chance anyone knows how I can clear this up?
Does anyone have experience with, or can recommend a service? I need to schedule a colonoscopy and the hospital won't schedule the appointment unless I'm accompanied. I can't drive myself as the procedure requires sedation. As of right now, the people I've asked aren't able to.
For someone who is here as a EEA resident who has enough funds to sustain themselves, has registered with the police department but did not get a D-number yet, do I face any restrictions in booking an appointment with a specialist doctor for a consultation in the private system? I'm willing to pay in full for the appointment out of my own pocket.
The reason I'm asking is because I've tried to book an appointment with Volvat and they said they can not do it because of me lacking a D number and that my only chance is to go to their ER department as a walk in pacient.
Is there a law restricting this in Norway or is it more company policy? I wouldn't have imagined that it's possible to be able to pay for a service in the private system but be denied because you're not part of the Norwegian health system.
TLDR: Does a service connected disability/retirement change allowable orders that count towards the Post 9/11 GI bill?
Hello all, another question about GI Bill, sorry if this has been covered.
I was in the Guard for 12 years (Army 2009-2016; Air 2016-2021, no break in service), and from 2015 on I was on active duty orders for Counterdrug (Chapter 32 FTNGD-OS), except for the 1.5 years I was retraining for an Intel job in the Air Guard which included tech school, MEST days, and 6 months for advanced training.
I was medboarded and retired at 80% Sep of this year.
All that being said, last time I applied for Post 9/11 while I was still in I was denied with 0 qualifying months since Counterdrug and Training donβt count.
So my question is, I know the service connection changes the requirement to 30 active duty days, but do 0 of my 6+ years active duty orders still not count? I was hoping the advanced training might since it wasnβt initial training (Joint Cyber Analysis Course).

TL;DR - Obnoxious and persistent sales rep for my ISP wanted to force me to buy their new cell phone plan, but we repeatedly told her NO! We only wanted the cable upgrade, no cell phones. She refused to do the cable transaction until we agreed to a cell phone plan, which was NOT required to get cable. She kept lying about her "system being slow" and "while we're waiting, let's talk phones". Finally we hung up on her and she called back, we hung up again and she kept calling back, harassing us and holding up our phone line.
My sister tried calling with a medical emergency and we couldn't get her through because the sales rep kept spam calling us. Finally we told her we were having a medical crisis and my sister was trying to call us and she was interfering. Sales rep asked to be in a 3 way call with us to discuss phone plan options WHILE we discussed my sister's medical emergency, she even offered to stay on the line with us to make a sale while we were in the ER.
I threatened to cancel our entire internet and cable with them and call 911 on her, she finally hung up. I filed a report with my ISP about her illegal behavior. Today I finally got in touch with my ISP over it again.
I had filed a detailed report right after it happened. 1 month later I finally got informed that there's no fucking report made and they have no record of any complaint from me. So I filed a new one and said that if this one "goes missing" too, I'm getting a lawyer. I immediately got a manager of some sort who was very curt and 100% didn't give a shit. I can't wait until after new year's to be told that they either have no report on file or that they did some bullshit internal investigation and found no wrong-doing.

The moment my mom answered the phone she said "Let me give you my number in case we get disconnected again." I grabbed the phone and said "we didn't disconnect, I hung up, goodbye" and hung up again. She called back instantly an
