Should I join the Air Force after high school or college? Iโ€™ve heard about the Air Force providing medical service to its members. Iโ€™m planning to study medicine and become a doctor in the Air Force.

Medical question: Concerning Air Force service eligibility for transgender civilians. (Specifically guard or reserve.)

Iโ€™m a civilian pilot with an ATP plus CFI/II/MEI ratingsโ€ฆ and have been interested in OTS and leadership, not to mention military flying opportunities in the reserves or guard for several years.

Up until very recently there has been a โ€˜banโ€™ on military service, in any capacity, for transgender civilians. Reserves, active duty, Air Force every branch etc.

However, that is starting to change under a new administrationโ€ฆ at least to the best of my knowledge and at least on paper.

My question is how much has that started to change in reality? With regard to culture, or specifically recruiting?

I called a reserve recruiter a few months ago, and also late last year and essentially got nowhere. I wanted to be upfront about any โ€˜medical historyโ€™ (specifically โ€˜gender dysphoriaโ€™) however in doing so I was basically precluded from continuing with the process.

Can anyone shed light on the process now? Has anything changed? I, like other LGBT Americans arenโ€™t looking for a handoutโ€ฆ arenโ€™t looking to be a special snowflake. Iโ€™m just looking for equal opportunity and the opportunity to serve my country and contribute to a great organization (the Air Force) while developing professional skills and relationships.

Thank you for your time any feedback would be appreciated on where to go from here ๐Ÿ™

Army Medic vs Navy Corpsman vs Air Force Aerospace Medical Service

Hi, y'all. I am thinking joining to one of the US military at the end of next year or beginning of following year. I haven't met recruiters as I am currently serving as a medic in South Korean Army by mandatory. But, I did contact both Army and Navy recruiters through email so I have very basic info though. (Not Air Force unfortunately) I believe joining US Armed Forces would help me a lot to settle down in the US.

My questions are: Which branch should I join? It seems like they all do same jobs, but what is it gonna be a critical differences or pros/cons? Please share all your thoughts, experiences, etc.

Here is some info that might help y'all to answer.

Male, 25 Dual citizenship both USA and South Korea Bachelor degree majored in biology minored in chemistry in the US college Want to be in medical field especially PA currently

Thanks for all your interests!
