What an experience! Should I run or not? I never tried so I searched the internet and found a few others who had faced these conditions, sooooooo I guess I can try :) It's a beautiful sunny day at around -14°C, with gust of winds bringing it further down. I started as usual and after a few minutes took my windbreaker and shirt off, and still no gloves or hat. My fingers froze faster, but I could handle it, and my core felt fine. The extreme temperature energized me and I started to run faster. Concentrating on my breathing and posture I started to feel unknown tingling sensations along my arms. "Do I feel fine?" I asked myself. "Yes" and made it all the way to the Old port, 6k. The last stretch I was a bit out of breath, so felt relieved for my halfway break and happy to take the photo and your video, but kept it short. It's 6k back home now!
I kept my Santa hat, but it confused my body "Is he cold or warm?" Taking it off made it easier to concentrate and run. after a few K's the wind picked up and my arms felt frozen in a new more intense way. I went into a sprint swinging my arms and opening and closing my palm. It helped. Still later new pains appeared around the fat of my arms, slowly spreading to my fingers, but I pushed through as my core was fine. My face and legs were always comfortable, but my ears started to ache for the first time. Then a third wave of cold through my arms, and with one K left I started to feel miniature shivers "This is not good" That was it, the signal. Fingers numb I fought to untie my windbreaker, and it's zip was even worse. "Forget the t-shirt!" After a good minute I was able to close it and put some gloves on. It felt better, so I started to run again but a pain hit one calf, so slowed down. 200 meters from home I started to shiver and walking became harder, but I just had to get home. Finally in the corridors of my apartment building I felt dizzy, opened the door and awkwardly undressed and plunged to the bathroom for a hot shower. There I trembled, and finally my body calmed down. I took a long warm bath and afterwards a nap. Now I feel pure rest and bliss. No pain, no frostbite, all is well.
Many lessons here, first it is possible, second I am in tune with my body and take good decisions, third, there are different degrees of sensations, fourth, the last hundred meters I lost my concen

My girlfriend and I are having an « argument ». She lives in Lachine, I live in Longueuil. I casually mentioned that we both live in suburbia and she was offended lol.
What does the Reddit hive mind have to say on the subject? Is Lachine a suburb?
So I know that they were building a bike path that goes along Saint-Jacques and across the 20 near Angrignon Boul. that connects to the canal...
Does anyone know if it's been completed? I'm not really a fan of sharing a road with cars getting on the highway. Otherwise, I can always take the long way around through Westmount or Ville-Saint-Pierre but those seem a little out of the way.
Appreciate any advice you can give!
Merci!
