A list of puns related to "Irish Setter"
My husband has grown up with bird dogs, specifically English Setters but has always wanted to try an Irish Setter. We just put down a deposit on an IS puppy, but he's concerned he won't be able to hunt grouse and pheasant with her. Anyone have any positive feedback I can relay to him? Thanks!
Also, is an IS too high strung to live with two toddlers? We can exercise her frequently and send to daycare once or twice a week if needed, but we do have a lot of chaos already. I'm looking at it as just adding a little more to the mix.
I have a 7 year old irish setter mix and shes been kinda a nightmare. She was a very well behaved friendly dog up until a 2 years ago. Ever since our other dog died, shes peeing and pooping everywhere, barks all the time, tearing up every blanket and pillow she sees and biting and scratching our puppy. Also if we give her food or water in a bowl, she will just knock it over. She always finds a way to jump or dig under our fence. Shes also shivering 24/7. Shes not aggressive to people. Is there anything we can do to maybe make her behavior better?
I know the soles wear pretty fast, but I've NEVER had such comfortable footwear. I'm on my feet for most of the day, it really helps my back and legs.

I bough these shoes online and they shipped from sportsmanβs warehouse. The stitching on the sole of the shoe comes into contact with anything you step on. As a result the stitching is badly frayed after just one day of use. This seems like a design flaw but I want to know your opinions. I know that these arenβt Redwing shoes but there is no subreddit for Irish setters.
This is the way these boots are made, this isnβt a second or a factory mistake. Every picture of these boots I found online has this small line of stitching on the sole of the boot near the toe.
Edit. Thank you guys. Itβs a feature called a lock stick and itβs supposed to be there. Whatβs great community you have here. I really like these boots and wanted to keep them but I am ignorant in boot construction.
This is my second pair of Irish setters. My first pair lasted a long time and I would have had them resoled if they had been a welt construction. These ones have a Goodyear welt so they will get resoled when the time comes.
Iβm definitely getting a dog in the next few months and am trying to decide between breeds. Currently considering Gordon setter, Irish setter, and boxer.
I was hoping the community here could elaborate a bit on their experience living with Irish setters (and/or the other mentioned breeds, if applicable)? Ups & downs, words or wisdom, etc.
This will be my first ever dog, so itβs a big decision!
