[WP] All aliens have a similar looking but incredibly unintelligent host species that are hijacked do all the hard labour called Meat drones. That is, until Humans were introduced.

Humanities' Meat Drone species (Neanderthals) died out before they could be dumbed down enough to become a meat drone species. So the premise is that during first contact, when the formalities are done they wished to meet the control species piloting the Meat Drones. Imagine their surprise to the revelation that Humans had no Meat Drones, and just do everything themselves.

Strange New Species : what peaceful new races has Lower Decks introduced?

In DS9 we got a new take on ferenghi. But we also learned about Odo, a fully new species. In Voyager, we learned about Neelix and His Ocampa partner Kes. In Enterprise, we were introduced to Phlox, a friendly Denobulan doctor.

The tradition seems to always have an unfamiliar race as part of the core team. And by unfamiliar, I mean invented for the series. Does this exist for Lower Decks?

I love the expansion on already familiar races and species that it does so well. The Orion who isn't a slave girl. The engineer who's dabbing with cybernetic implants. But where is the typical "you're part of the crew and completely new to the canon" character for Lower Decks?

So many smart meta callbacks, but I'm missing that one element of totally new species we're expected to just get to know because they're part of the crew now.

[Marvel/Venom] Could introduced species eradication be an all you can eat paid job for Venom?

There is a global problem with introduced species ruining ecosystems. If Venom's appetite is as big as we think it is, he could solve the problem and be treated as a hero for doing it. An example is in Australia there's feral camels, horses, buffaloes, dogs, cats, carp, cane toads and a bunch more. He could snack on cane toads like humans eat popcorn and feast on big game, and people would love him for it.

[Minor HR spoilers] I really love all of the interesting and unique alien species that have been introduced in this wave of the High Republic

I am really enjoying all of the interesting new (and some old) alien species the High Republic group are bringing to life in the books and comics.

For example in Out of the Shadows we get a number of interesting creatures and species. Take Master Nubarron the grumpy quartermaster for Starlight Beacon. Nubarron is a sentient floating cloud of gas. Not a being encased in a container with their own atmosphere but basically a sentient storm cloud that can even shoot lighting and speaks to everyone through telepathy. The fact that he turns pink and purple when displeased led some to make jokes about him looking like a character from Adventure Time but the first thing I thought of was Master Ooroo from Tales of the Jedi who was basically a brain with tendrils coming from below like a jelly fish.

Speaking of Tales we also got Odan-Ur's species the draethos in the most recent HR comic which is cool because I always found it odd how they just disappeared from the galaxy after TotJ.

Going back to Out of the Shadows we also got the SW version of Raiku from pokemon. Remy (no not the rat) is a vollka, the name a play of voltage. Vollka are large green and blue felines who have two spiral horns on their heads that create lighting bolt and who can turn invisible while hunting and are the size of a full grown adult. I'm really looking forward to a picture of them like we got for the Chancellor's Targons (giant four eyed space lions).

Between Ember (a animal that can breathe fire and looks like what you'd get if your left your houndoom at the daycare with a growlithe), Volka, and the Targons we are well on our way to a full pokemon team. Heck if we add the large six legged and three headed Hragscythe in for some poison/earth damage and the giant flying Sanval capable of taking out fighter in a single bite as our flying type we would have a well rounded team.

Speaking of The Rising Storm we also get another interesting sentient species. One that is from way back in the old WEG stuff that the writers like pulling from. One of the Jedi Masters, an archivist named Orbalin is a Ugor which are basically sentient balls of slime that use pressure su

Are species naturally introduced into new environments considered invasive?

Many times in the history of life species have gone from one location to another, far away from their normal homes. In recent times it’s mostly accidentally done by humans, but sometimes humans had no part in it. If this happens is the species in the new environment considered invasive?

An easy example would be if kudzoo got accidentally washed away in a storm and landed on a pacific island.
