A list of puns related to "Imperial Preference"
I'm really curious about which sides people have joined and why they may believe that side to be "correct."
Personally I find the metric system easier to use since itβs less specific with various measurements, such as 1000 grams is a kilogram. But as a Latin American people expect me to be using imperial. Am I a weird person for choosing a different system of measurement than my countryβs preferred and more widely used one?

( If anyone would like an explanation on the metric system I'll gladly help you, just reach out to me or comment your questions :) )
I already know about the βbig onesβ And plan on reading them but more looking for a wider selection aside from the ones everyone also recommends
ah yes because 5280 feet in a mile is easier to remember than 1000 meters in a kilometer like wtf
why did my country have to do this
Of course, the most preferred member is clear to be our supreme leader.
The Vassal King of the Smashers is omitted here as [pronoun] seems to have left and has been inactive for some time.
I shall not vote.
to get at what I'm talking about, let's compare mile and kilometre. Since i am someone who has never been formally taught the objective distance of a "mile", my mind holds onto the idea of a "mile" as a vaguely large amount of distance. This is in contrast to "kilometre", which in my mind portrays a very specific amount of distance; an objective, unshifting definition; that depending on the equation is either a long distance or a relatively short distance. So as a result, when a writer wishes to describe a feeling of distance rather than a measurement, i find "mile" to be a more effective word in getting the point across.
E.G "person is the winner by a mile" instead of "person is the winner by a kilometre"
"the chill, grassy steppe stretched for miles upon miles" instead of "the chill, grassy steppe stretched for kilometres upon kilometres"
Things similarly apply to feet as opposed to centimetres. Although centimetres is a better measurement, saying that someone is "6'3" gives me a better emotive idea of someone's relative height, as opposed to someone who is "190.5 cm"
Exactly the title I have recently sold an older army so Iβm commuting to this army so Iβm gonna buy some stuff so Iβm mainly looking for catachan infantry, bullgryns, tanks, Astra militarum characters, forge world if you have stuff like the special mortars and cyclops demolition vehicles. Shoot me a Pm if you have any offers
What style of funnelware do you typically use buttchuggin' 14%ABV imperial stouts when trying quickly blackout then shit & puke in the kitchen while your wife and kids are left to watch and cry? Iβve read polycarbonate & acrylic funnels are good for flow as imp stouts are typically pretty high in viscosity. Are there any others that work well with big bad imp stouts?

Computer science at Oxbridge/Imperial without further maths
Long story short, up until now I was planning on applying for medicine (as my parents were forcing me to), but I have just now made the decision to follow my heart and study CS. I have always had a passion for tech, and been very good at maths, so feel that CS is the ideal route for me. Unfortunately, as I thought I would have to study medicine, I did not take further maths at A level which is highly recommended by Oxbridge/Imperial, which I believe hinders my application severely. I love maths, and regretted not taking further every day. Now I am planning to take further maths at AS level in year 13 however, doubt this is enough tho. I really want to attend Oxford/Imperial. Currently studying maths bio chem physics, all A* predicted. Planning to drop bio and take up AS further maths in yr13, will most likely get an A in that. I have very little coding experience however, though I have started learning python last week and am enjoying it so far.
I have 2 months to show βinterestβ in coding for my uni applications- I have just started going through a python book and am planning to get through as much of the Harvard Cs50 intro to cs course as I can by then. Is there anything else you may recommend to help me stand out as an applicant to top unis, or does anyone know of anyone in a similar situation as me? Also how much does career progression in Computer Science vary based on the uni u study at? For example, between Oxford/Imperial and UCL/Warwick? I want to pick the uni that gives me the best opportunities to work at FAANG/fintech companies. Any unis you guys recommend for CS? Finally, any general advice for me or stories about anyone in similar situations? Thanks so much, Iβm really anxious about all this rn so apologies for any mistakes in my post.
I'm not a member, but I'm a big fan of what you guys do, particularly the charity work. I think it's brilliant.
