A list of puns related to "Hypophosphatemia"
Do we know how hypomagnesemia and hypophosphatemia increase intraarticular extracellular PPi? I couldn't find much about it online.
Thank you.
This is a place where people can get advice on how to treat and/or help identify if you are suffering from Hypophosphatemia. I was diagnosed in 2016 and it almost slipped me into a coma and killed me before my doctors could figure out what it was. So here I am to help spread awareness of this potentially debilitating condition!
May you all have safe and healthy lives!
hi did anyone go through this? supplements are not helping and im very scared on outlook. doctors are not being helpful. the fatigue i got after this iron infusion is unreal and im scared.
Who here has experience treating XLH Rickets (X-Linked Hypophosphatemia)? I just got my first patient (male, 40's) with this rare condition. I'm doing my due diligence researching exercise contraindications, etc. but appreciate your tips & experiences as well.
I'm not sure why refeeding would resorb or use your body's store of phosphate
Does anyone else have XLH? If so, are you also going to go on the newly released Burosumbap? Iβm curious to see if thereβs any redditors with XLH aside from me.
Currently a 3rd year resident in IM and we have this ESRD patient admitted for weakess. She was a typical social admit awaiting placement. Around the 3rd or 4th day her LFTs started to increase. I did a pretty superficial work up (Hep Panel and abdominal US) which came back negative. We noticed her phosphate was significantly low and we repleted that and her LFTs started to improve. My attending stated hypophosphatemia can cause an elevation of LFTs but couldn't come up with a mechanism. I tried a quick search and saw a lot on association, but no explanation. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

....as declared in one of the more authentic qbanks. Satisfactory explanations were not given.
How does hypophosphatemia lead to proximal muscle weakness and seizures? (It's a side effect of aluminum hydroxide). I have no idea how it causes the symptoms, does anyone know?

I just returned from my second emergency visit following my heart fluttering and palpitation episode brought on by my hypophosphatemia. In March of 2017, I was on the train when my heart fluttered, and I felt as if it had skipped a beat. Upon arriving at the hospital, a full blood test was done, and my phosphate was at 0.39 with that been said I was given phosphate intravenously and was seen by a nephrologist over the year. ( I was also recognized by a cardiologist who confirmed my heart was working well).
In October of 2018, I was dismissed by the nephrology as my phosphate level was at 1.06 and I felt good. With that been said over this week, I began experiencing muscle weakness and heart flutters in which I took Advil to control the symptoms. This morning my heart fluttered, and I had an episode of palpitation and was taken to the emergency following a normal EKG reading and blood test I discovered my phosphate was now 0.50.
The physician has prescribed phosphate tablets for me in which I shall begin taking on Saturday with that been said I feel quite scared and confused and I wonder if there is a cure for this?
I also was taking Apo-Pantoprazole which the physician has immediately discontinued as of now.
Thank you.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Buenosdillas
Theyβre on standbi
Pilot on me!!
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.
