A list of puns related to "European Dragon"
one of the main ways we know European dragons never really existed is they tend to be illustrated with four legs and two wings, and Tetrapods only ever have at most four limbs (not counting tails).
What if you said dragons evolved from a totally separate group of land vertebrates that converted more than just the pectoral & pelvic fins into legs?
Greetings!
As the title states, I'm looking for 1-2 players for a Dragon Age campaign. The group currently consists of me and 2 players. It's a big campaign, spanning the journey across Thedas but we're only 2 sessions in, so you don't need much info to be brought up to speed. We're using the AGE system with some homebrew that I'm adding as we go. Players of any experience level welcome but the party is at level 4.
The story takes place in 9:32 Dragon (between Act 1 and 2 of DA2) and follows the party on a mission from the Grey Wardens. Unfortunately, the player that dropped out was the only Grey Warden in the party and I'd appreciate it if we had at least one of those but it is by no means necessary. You can also pick any character background you want.
I'm a fairly new GM, started at the beginning of this year. I have a very light-hearted style of storytelling, regardless of the subject matter. I will try not to spoil weighty moments with an ill-timed quip but I make no promises of success. Outside that, anything and everything is fair game. I will do my best to avoid making light of certain topics if it makes someone uncomfortable.
Sessions take place on Discord for voice and Roll20 for maps and dice. They are scheduled for Sundays at 3:30 PM CET. Please make sure that you can make the time reliably, though some missed sessions are not a problem.
If you're still thinking of joining, keep in mind the three C's: compromise, communicate, ctolerance for our shitty humor. If you're unable to make it to the session, we may have your character disappear on some personal side quest, or one related to the mission, or I may take control of them for combat. We also need some prior notice if you can't make it, as soon as possible. If you can't participate in the game anymore, also let the group know as soon as possible. The last one is pretty self-explanatory.
Anyone interested can DM me or comment under the post.
If this wasn't a thing, what did naval battles of say, the 100 Years War look like? Was it like earlier naval combat, where it was mostly about ramming and boarding actions?
My knowledge on this subject is pretty limited, but Iβm pretty sure dragons existed in Chinese beliefs way before the Medieval Ages came around. So how did both China and Europe create the concept of the dragon? Are they similar in structure and mythology, or are the dragons different? If the theory is that Europeans came up with the idea of dragons due to dinosaur bones, did China do the same? Could medieval Europe have carried the idea of the dragon from China?
I recently saw the Beowulf movie, and the dragon is portrayed as having a single vulnerable spot under the throat. I have not read the poem in a long time so I cannot remember if it appears there as well or if it is an adaptation by the screenwriters. This also famously appears in Tolkien and works derivative of his.
I came across this paper on dragon-slaying myths ( https://www.jstor.org/stable/41637840) that seems to suggest that some Indo-European cultures believed in multiple dragons/serpents/worms. But I can't seem to find an explicit statement anywhere on whether the original PIEs believed that there could be more than one dragon, or if the storm god slayed the one dragon and it was one and done.

... keep reading on reddit β‘When you think about it chinese dragons and european dragons have little to nothing in common.
European dragons have wings and are related to fire, chinese dragons don't have wings and are related to water. European dragons hoard treasure and are evil, chinese dragons are wise and often benevolent. European dragons are seen as animals, chinese dragons are like gods or nature spirits.
Both are very interesting mythical creatures, I just don't understand why we ended up thinking that they are the same kind of mythical creature
Rules:
-Both are at their strongest
-Both are at average size
-Fight takes place in Vietnam
Who wins?
Hi Reddit, I own a Xbox Series S and would like to get Yakuza 7 for it. However, I cannot find an european seller for the digital version anywhere (and 60β¬ in the MS store is a bit too much for me, when the physical version costs half of it). I am not asking for any shady deals, just to see if anyone knows a trusty site where they have it, or at most one of those "change the Store to Africa and get it 20β¬ cheaper" or some trick like that...
Thanks a lot.
I'm no expert in world mythologies, and I'm pretty sure there are many different types of dragons around the world, but I'll stick with the two most popular ones, which includes the fire-breathing Western dragon commonly found in medieval fantasy media mostly, and the serpent based on places such as China, Japan, etc. which symbolizes power or luck and is usually more water-based, although it depends on the region. In Europe, there are several different types of dragons or dragon-like creatures, such as the wyvern or hydra, and in Asia, there is the Gonggong and the Naga (the latter of which is more Indian). Honestly, I prefer Western design since it looks cooler and more badass, but I also like the Asian dragon as well.
So what are your thoughts? Which dragon do you prefer?
