A list of puns related to "Chess Tactic"
sorry for bad english!
I'm looking for a game where you do move one unit per round and not all your units per round like in almost every TBS.
I like Games like Fantasy General, Field of Glory, Battlesector, BloodBowl, Space Hulk but there you move your whole Army/ Team and when finished or fumbled a move like in BB your opponent does his moves.
In Games like Chess, Go, Backgammon etc. you move one unit and then the opponent moves one unit if you know what i want to say.
I've heard FF: Tactics is like that, but i'm not a Anime fan and also not a console gamer or anytthing like that. I very much prefer more realistic or darker settings and cannot immerse myself into anything too much comical or anime like.
Are there Games like that?
BB2 has a good compromise maybe with the fumble and turnover mechanic. I like that very much too, but idk if that is a patent owned by GW and for BB only.
Anyone knows a game for what i'm looking for a Chess or Backgammon like game - that means i'm ok it has some RNG element with dices like BB2 - in a history or dark fantasy or whatever setting as long as it is not Anime.
I also dont like WW1 or WW2 Setting, but that is a compromise i can think about.
thanks in advance
have fun - Stun o/

I wrote this as a project to help myself, but I'm sharing it in case anyone finds it useful.
Chess tempo shows your accuracy for each tactic type, but it only shows it over your entire history of using the site. So, it might say you have 58% accuracy with discovered attacks, which is useful to know, but I want to know this information for, e.g., the last 24 or 48 hours, which would be a lot more useful for me to see what I'm currently struggling with.
This script takes your history file (downloadable from your stats page) and shows accuracy for different tactics types over the time period you specify.

See the github for instructions on how to run it. It doesn't require any external libraries and it should run on Windows and Linux (only tested on Windows).
Please let me know if you find this useful or if you have any feedback.

Has it ever occured to anyone when all of a sudden you start missing simple tactics like a hanging piece or getting your own piece trapped ? If so, how did you deal with them ?
Hey all, is there a database floating around anywhere that has single board states which represent themes/tactics?
Here's an example: I want this board state in FEN/PGN: Fork.jpg and a corresponding label to the tactic displayed, in this case Fork. Just one board state, not a puzzle involving multiple moves leading up to/surrounding this state.
I checked out the Lichess puzzle database and because it involves multiple moves to describe a given theme it doesn't work too well for the classification problem I'm trying to solve. I really just want individual boards labeled with corresponding tactics. Anyone have any resources I can check out?
Edit: Added a better example
Hi all! I wanna get my brother a book on chess this Christmas. Any recommendations would be super helpful as I'm not a big chess player myself but he said he'd be interested to learn more about e4 openings, middle game tactics, endgame tactics specifically, but anything else you think is a must-have book for chess players, please let me know, thanks!
basically im looking for a way to train to find the best move without knowing in which direction i should look. so for example in every chess tactic i have ever done i have always known the fact that there IS a tactic available and i just have to find it. but in a real game, i dont know that and sometimes a quiet positional move is in fact the best move.
any help is greatly appreciated.
