A list of puns related to "Bureau Of Engraving And Printing"
It was pretty righteous. Over half our money is printed there. The tour was really interesting. And I guarantee you've never been in a building with that much money before, our seen that much money before. I highly recommend taking the tour. http://www.moneyfactory.gov/fortworthtxtours.html
Hi everyone, I'd like to let everyone know that I have services available to anyone interested in getting some laser work or 3d printing done.
Customs signs, coasters, pictures etc just msg me and we can discuss your project.
Any questions feel free to ask!
So I have a big background in screen printing and vinyl, but I'm looking to supplement the industry with some other services that could be contracted to me. I have a ton of graphic design experience, so I at least don't have to worry about that part of it.
Does anybody have opinions on the viability of a pad printing start up? Probably start out cheap with a manual printer, possibly design and print some of my own stuff to retail. Single color to start, unless it's unlikely for me to make a profit in your opinion. I was having a hard time finding a price sheet, but I suppose I could request some quotes to get an idea of how much people charge.
Also, considering doing some laser engraving. I have experience with laser but only as an employee and not as a business owner. I know they're not cheap but I plan on being home-based at first to minimize overhead. I also have a bit of metal working experience, so maybe considering powder coating/anodizing so I could engrave on coated products.
I have a great reputation with a local screen printing and sublimation shop that I helped get started, so I think I can count on them to get me some contracts but I wanted to reach out and see if anybody had any experience doing this as an income stream.
Thanks very much for your time!
Hey everyone, as the title says, Iβm making a really meme-y thing on Autodesk Inventor 2018 Pro, (Iβm an autodesk inventor certified user so you can use technical terms). I have an image and I know how to get it to be decal-ed on a surface, but Iβm blanking and canβt remember how to emboss an image, or if itβs even possible. Let me know if you guys can help! Thanks!
(also posting to r/3dprinting) <β nevermind haha, it wonβt let me post for some reason
Hi all, I don't know about printing or if this is the right place to post this so I apologise if this is not the right place. I run a small business and am trying to get printed EVA/PEVA packaging but I don't know the difference between silk printing and copper plate printing (electro engraving). What is the difference in terms of price, appearance and quality? Thanks =)
Hello all,
I have a patented product that may make sense to manufacture via 3D printing. The parts require a very high degree of accuracy, and we are currently looking at a Uniontech Pilot 250 to print these parts.
The thing is, the parts are TINY, and monthly volume will be relatively low. So if I do acquire a machine, the machine will sit idle for the vast majority of the time. Which seems hard to justify, especially considering the $100k+ price tag of the unit. So I'm considering offering 3D printing services on the side.
My sales rep tells me they have a program to throw business toward their customers, but it seems foolish to rely solely on that if I want the printer to be busy most of the time. So that means getting business on my own customers. The goal would be to earn at least $3,000/month profit from side customers, to cover the cost of the payments, maintenance, etc.
If there is anyone here with relevant experience that be willing to offer any input or advice about things I should know, I'd greatly appreciate it!!
For example:
Thanks in advance for your input!
I am the fifth generation of a specialty printing and engraving company in Virginia that was formed in 1891. Somehow this company survived and stayed in business during the great depression and through the recession in the early 2000's (that part was hard, I helped I think).
I work with my father and mother regularly, my grandmother still comes in to run collections and stay busy once a week. We have 8 employees and we have been doing fairly well to stay alive and cut the right amount of corners.
We get pounded with federal taxes, state taxes and of course the dreaded health insurance (bottom tier) which my parents insist on keeping - which is understandable. We couldn't afford a full time book-keeper anymore - so a lot of things are on auto-draft. We have part time book keepers that run payroll/balance the books twice a month. My time clock is automated - no more paper time cards it's electronic.
I am 32 years old and I make $400 per week after taxes. The family members and I are constantly waiting to be paid. ( Payroll was last week - I am still waiting ) We do our best to make the employees come first, after we've paid Federal & State Taxes, Health Insurance and our UPS bill. (All on Auto Draft) My parents barely make enough to cover mortgage and bills. We share two cars between the three of us - not fancy.
We no longer have credit as a business, as during the recession we floated on Gramps credit cards to keep the company afloat and then settled them for 20 cents on the dollar later on. I am okay with not having credit - this forces us to learn how to be independent, banks are only out to get us anyways.
I handle the marketing (online), payroll, HR, Hiring, Firing, Ordering, Inventory and Quotes and often get my hands dirty. Working a lot of weekends without compensation is normal. I quote jobs 24/7 off of the internet from my blackberry to keep the money flowing in as much as possible. Doing off-site installations to hustle enough money to cover payroll and not being compensated is normal too. The business being alive is kind of like compensation, it's like a passion - but one that stings quite often.
I cannot cut anymore employees - I have half the crew I had four years ago and our numbers are bigger now than before. I employee my people and pay the necessary payroll taxes (no 1099's).
Aside from making them contractors... what can I do to cut corners and save money?
My goal is try and actually pay myself/ the family on-time and maybe
