A list of puns related to "Ballad Maker"
Just something funny that i seen on netflix today
Here's what I have so far for the rest of the premise: "Slasher movie parody where a group of indie film-makers are trying to make their own slasher flick with a snarky screenwriter (this is not a self-insert) who knows the ins and outs of these kinds of movies, despite despising them. When a real slasher strikes, things quickly go awry."
Definitely something subversive. I don't want to tip my hand so soon, but if things go according to plan this will start off as a straight-up comedy but then veer into bonkers territory with the inciting incident. I could see people thinking it's like Scream at first, but I have something else in mind. I understand that it can be unhelpful to be so cryptic, but I like the air of mystique we don't often get in films in the Information Age. If everything goes down as I'd like for it to, people will have no idea what they're stepping into and will be consistently surprised by the directions it takes.
Thoughts? Just came up with this so it may need some more developing, though I already have a few decent gags planned.
Hype for the Zelda Link's Awakening remake on the Nintendo Switch? Fan of Super Mario Maker? This one's for you! Here's an amazing and challenging music level of The Ballad of The Wind Fish!
Emizel is becoming one of my favorite creator in Super Mario Maker, he just makes amazing levels time after time! I love that his levels are challenging too, I'm always up for a good challenge! Definitely needs more exposure in the Super Mario Maker community!
Let me know what you thoughts of the levels in this episode in the comment section below! And as always, thanks for watching! :-)
Now to start- I know that it's an extremely competitive and (over)saturated space, but the verdict is pretty damn clear if we just simply lay everything out on the table to examine in the most objective view possible with all aspects of inflation (numbers; sales, streams, charts, views, etc) set aside from the main factor of pure raw influence.
As often stated, "literally nobody is doing it like him." Not a single other soul in this same way.
As is yearly tradition, over the month of December I posted two songs per day in the Daily Discussion threads (one single and one album track (mostly)) that I felt went unnoticed by most people but would potentially be enjoyed, and this is a compilation of those write-ups.
There’s a definite pop focus but I picked these tracks with an ear for diversity of sound/artistry so there’s quite a few different things going on here and some picks that might make you roll your eyes, but I think there’s something for everyone! FFO means “For Fans Of,” it’s a reference point for who I think would like each song.
Here is a link to a playlist I made of (most) of the songs.
#Singles:
> Joyce Wrice (ft. Freddie Gibbs) - On One (from Overgrown)
> FFO: Tinashe
It seems like everyone is nostalgic for the ‘00s these days but if you were specifically missing those block party busting r&b jams, Joyce Wrice has you covered. She oozes the essence of this era of r&b starlets thanks to her flirty-yet-fiery delivery and the Aaliyah sample (“Rock The Boat”) takes this connection even further, but the charismatic rap verse from Freddie Gibbs has a distinctly more modern feeling that still flows well. One of many stellar tracks on her debut album but it stands out thanks to the pop friendly hooks and crazy replay value.
> FFO: Red Velvet
In tarot the “Wheel Of Fortune” card is supposed to invoke good luck and prosperity and the song really captures that vibe with the bright melody and hopeful lyrics, both of which Riri carries perfectly. The quirky production makes everything even more exciting, it’s got a new jack swing beat but then there’s all sorts of horns and synths and samples layered on top so it’s just brimming with energy while still being perfectly in control.
> LØLØ - Hurt Less (from overkill)
> FFO: Avril Lavigne
Emo pop-rock meets self-deprecating Tik Tok music, and that’s a compliment! Canadian singer LØLØ started with this sound last year (so she was actually a bit ahead of the curve on this trend) but she took until this year with the overkill EP to really nail it. This song is indulgently relatable and the chorus just creeps up on you, it’s so catchy and

For those of you who ask every month, no, I'm not going to stop including the other albums that released this year. There are many people who like to see how albums are doing through the year. The chart will be reset in January after this year's numbers have been fully recorded and concluded.
Standard Items: Please note the Last Update column tells you what date the numbers go through. Not all numbers are pulled on the same date. If you want to do more advanced sorting than what reddit allows, please copy the table into Excel and sort to your heart's content.
As you probably know, Google Translate doesn't always play nicely with Korean to English and I'm not necessarily up on the correct name for every release. (For instance, for WJSN it gives me Space Girls or for one of Ryewook's album, it gives me Drunk to You instead of Drunk on Love). So if there's something wonky below, please let me know so I can update it.
There is a soft cut off for albums selling under 5K, for sanity's sake. I'm still pulling out albums that I know you guys might be interested in (like debuting girl groups!), but I don't know every group out there. If there is new release from the month listed in the title that I missed and you want to know if it's there, please request in the comments.

from Face Value, 1981
It’s easy to forget given the Genesis history, but Phil Collins showed an interest in songwriting right from the get-go. In 1968, having just joined a band called Hickory, Phil was riding high.
> Phil: Suitably inspired, I embark on...trying to write a song… I start messing about on the piano in the back room. I hover around D minor - which, as any Spinal Tap fan knows, is the saddest chord of all - and pick through some lyrical ideas… Soon I think I have something… This is ‘Lying, Crying, Dying’, and it is the first song seventeen-year-old [me] has ever written… I am, temporarily, a songwriter. ^1
But we know how that story ends: Hickory becomes Flaming Youth, releases a concept album called Ark 2 which goes nowhere, and Phil quits for the greener pastures of Genesis. What’s curious is how Phil, excited to have written a song that he thought was pretty good, evidently lost all songwriting ambition as soon as he joined this other band. Where did it all go?
My contention is that it didn’t really ever go anywhere; that it was merely suppressed for a time. Look at the evolution of Phil’s role with the band over the course of the 1970s and I think you’ll see what I mean. First, as any new band member must, he has to learn the existing catalog (essentially just Trespass tunes and ‘The Musical Box’ at that point in time). Then, starting with Nursery Cryme proper, he can add a little bit of his own voice to the mix. Literally, considering ‘For Absent Friends’. 1972 comes and finds him jamming in earnest, writing the Apocalypse in 9/8 section of ‘Supper’s Ready’ with Tony and Mike (and Steve...?). They explore that three-piece energy further in 1973’s ‘The Cinema Show’ even as Phil gets another spotlight performance singing ‘More Fool Me’.
By The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway in 1974, Phil is so highly respected by his Genesis peers that there’s no flinching when he encourages them to stretch a little more. His influence is instrumental in getting the band to do more, well, instrumentals.
> Phil: The blowing side of the band, like the area on The Lamb for instance. Like ‘Silent Sorrow in Empty Boats’ and ‘The Waiting Room’. Which we all loved, you know, that’s really one of the things the band does best: visible soundtracks, these little pictures... ^2

Howdy! Welcome to Day 16 of the r/indieheads Album of the Year 2021 Write-Up Series, our annual event where we showcase pieces from some of our favorite writers on the subreddit talking about their favorite records of the year! Today, we have u/WaneLietoc talking Senyawa's Alkisah.

Rully Shabara and Wukir Suryadi have been making music since 2010, when the multilingual vocalist and farming-tool instrument maker, respectively, first jammed together at Wukir’s No Fun Klub show that same year. The result led to the recording of the Senyawa EP, released through the Yogyakarta, Indonesia based Yes No Wave record label. “We didn’t intend it to be a full-time band, but it took off,” Shabara told Tone Glow in an interview this year. “We became Senyawa because one of our tours in Australia had that as our name on a poster and we said, “Okay, that’s our name.””.
Talking to The Quietus in 2015 Rully described the meaning of Senyawa to be “when two or more different elements combine and create something new... Senyawa is all about the relationship between man and nature.”
Since then, Rully and Wukir have held steadfast to their original vision (taken from the Yes No Wave release’s Bandcamp page):
>Embod[ying] the aural elements of traditional Indonesian music whilst exploring the framework of experimental music practice. Their sound is comprised of Rully Shabara’s deft extended vocal techniques punctuating the frenetic sounds of instrument builder*,* Wukir Suryadi’s modern-primitive instrumentation*.*
Over their decade of half a dozen albums, the project has been as much an exploration of Shabara’s voice matched to the richness of Wukir’s intensive tinkering with sound and a

It really does, I swear!
This idea came lingering back an hour ago.
In the books Katniss mentions how Capitol people loves going on vacation to the past arenas and reenacting past hunger games while taking tours of the arenas. In the films when Capitol people are seen, they are seen in lounges hanging out and relaxing, socializing in groups, walking around the city, at parties, and events that they can participate in the days following up to the games. This make me wonder the possibilities if Capitol people even work and get paid for it, or do they have a job but don't work but still get payed either way.
There isn't much said about Capitol people working or what they do for a living. The only jobs mentioned are stylists, escorts, game makers, and government officials. Even if Capitol people had jobs I'd doubt they even go to work because of how extremely rich they are.
Avoxes also contributes to Capitol labor. They are literal slaves therefore they do all the labor. In Mockingjay while squad 451 was in the transfer, it is mentioned that the transfer was where avoxes drive trucks to transport goods to the city. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes where avoxes are more frequent and seen to be chauffeurs, maids, and servants. As well in the films there are brief appearances of avoxes seen doing their duties whenever we saw Capitol people.
Anyways this is something that's once again curious about the unknown daily life of the Capitol that will keep me up all night 🤠
