A list of puns related to "Aviano"
looking for more info on both bases in relation to the mission and how it affects public affairs as a junior enlisted member.
Hi!
BLUF: In Aviano for TDY and need to borrow a SrAβs blues for Monday, 10 January.(Iβm 5β11/ size 32 waist)(Service Coat/long sleeve shirt/slacks).
In Aviano for a TDY. My home station is about 2.5 hours away from Aviano. I dropped off my pair blues to the closest American dry cleaners, USAG Ederle. I arrive to pick up my uniform on Thursday however; the cleaners were closed for the holiday - Epiphany. No worries, I ask my buddy to pick them on Friday however; they were closed again. I notified my leadership that I wouldnβt have my blues for the event next Monday. They werenβt upset but you could tell they werenβt happy. I donβt know anyone in Aviano thatβs why Iβm coming to Reddit for help. If youβre a 5β10-6β2 SrA can I borrow your blues for a day? Iβll make sure to pay for dry cleaning and I gotcha with a six pack. Thanks!
Got an assignment to Aviano. Will be PCSing with my wife. I am a CST. Looking for any tips, or insight on what life is like Italy. Work, where to live, buying a car, traveling. Anything will help.
Iβm currently in tech school at Keesler for 1C8x3. I have a short tour to Incirlik after that. I just got my follow-on to Aviano. Does anyone know what itβs like over there and what I can expect. If anyone else is RAWS too that would be great. Thanks!
Currently in randolph for tech school and want to see my family in aviano in december. Are we allowed to go overseas while in tech school during that time?
I've been tasked to go to Korea next February and want to BoP overseas. request a follow on.
I'm open to take any any preferences. Here are the noteworthy ones:
β’ Aviano - Italy
β’ Anderson - Guam
β’ incirlik - Turkey not noteworthy apparently haha
β’ Hickam - Hawaii
β’ Kaden, Yakota, Misawa - Japan
β’ Lakenheath, Mildenhall - United Kingdom
β’ Ramstein, Spangdahlem - Germany
And finally, Minot North Dakota. Heard its great this time of year. ;)
My AFSC can pretty much go anywhere. I'm a 5J that wants to travel. I'm open to options and hearing stories.
Got an assignment to Turkey during this last EQUAL overseas cycle so Iβm going to do my Follow-On application soon. Iβm trying to decide which bases to choose and I would like to get stationed somewhere in Europe. My list is Ramstein, Aviano, and Lakenheath. Iβm deciding if I want to put Aviano or Ramstein as my #1 spot. I know Ramstein is a pretty popular base but I know absolutely nothing about Aviano. I donβt know anyone that has been stationed there so Iβve never heard much about it. Can you guys let me know your opinions? Also, idk if this helps but I am single with no kids.
Edit: If anyone is interested in an update, I got Lakenheath!

As the title suggests ive just PCSβd to aviano italy and ive heard hearsay that my wife who is european cant work off base. There are references online at militaryonesource and army.mil saying that βTo be employed in Italy by someone other than the U.S. Forces (U.S. Forces would include GS, NAF, and U.S. Government contracted positions) requires an Italian Work Visa and Work Permit. This is true for both Italian businesses and American- based corporations as well.β It also states that if we elect to for her to take an italian work visa she must lose SOFA status.
Now as my wife being from spain she should not require a work visa or work permit to work in italy regardless, all she has to do is register that she will be working there as a freelancer and pay their taxes.
Has anyone else run into this situation before? I could really use some clarification on what our options are here.
Edit: Spoke to legal here and they did stated that european spouses can work off and on base and do not break sofa rules. The distinction is do they actually need a visa to work off base, and if the spouse doesnβt then it doesnβt matter to sofa.
What are some pros and cons of this base? I've heard that you have to live off base? Is that correct?
As the title says I'm heading to Aviano (on the 16th) and I had a question about a few things. Generally, how is it right now with Covid and what not? Secondly. I'm bringing my motorcycle and I was wondering if anyone knows a good insurance company that will actually insure me over there (every American company has told me they won't). And lastly, any suggestions for Realtors / landlords that are decent and trustworthy?
Hey do they have good fiber or DSL over there close to Aviano AB? My family will be moving there shortly wondering how is the internet speeds off base. Which are the good providers? Thanks in advance.
