A list of puns related to "Antiheroine"
i especially like the first type when they start out as self-assured, though repressed in some way, and then they have a mental breakdown ig?? (judge frollo, sort of patrick bateman?) also when they are in some way innocent or naive(norman bates, brahms from the boy)
examples: father paul from midnight mass(literally my fav character ever), phantom of the opera, frollo from the hunchback of notre dame, norman bates, dandy mott from american horror story
the second type, im really not picky about bc its harder to find non-cliche, interesting female villains and anti heroes
examples: esdeath from akame ga kill, most of the kakegurui ladies, carrie white(duh), black mamba from kill bill, abigail from the crucible, jude from the cruel prince, zira from the lion king two, mapleshade from warriors(lol)
I'm not going to ramble on and on about how they ruined Chloe's character. What I AM going to take about is the aftermath of that.
When Chloe was Queen Bee, I found her very interesting as it gave a whole new dimension to her character. It made her understandable and helped some of us gain a new perspective on her character. She also stood out, giving interest to a boring superhero team. But after the S3 finale, things changed. She became even worse. S4 Chloe is boring to me.
Overall, Chloe is nothing to the plot at the moment. They might as well have made her move to New York/minor character, for her only purpose for comedy at the moment.
I do understand that Chloe will always be sassy and hot-tempered, even if she does happen to lose her bratty tendencies. She will most likely not change her behaviour or get "redeemed". That does not mean she can't be an antiheroine. In case you don't know, an antihero is a character that while does not have heroic traits, still contributes to the greater good. They only do these things for personal gain though.
I love these kinds of characters, as they tend to be more complex and interesting than overwhelmingly moral protagonists.
Such as the villains in gone girl, suicide squad, killing eve, midsommer, and I care a lot. Maybe itβs just refreshing to see a female character as the villain that gets away with something unethical, or maybe I just think theyβre badass.
I'm a big fan of movies with antiheros. Recently I was thinking about the current trend of gender equality in the movie industry, with more and more movies centering on strong and independent female characters.
So, are there any with villainous, creepy, fucked up, lazy, stupid or otherwise negatively and realistically portrayed women as the main character?
It was a fantasy book I read around 10 years ago, I was a young teen at that time. I remember the main character was a antiheroine who was to some extent pretty evil, I think she was a witch of some kind.
Main detail that stuck with me was the fact there were dead knights who "respawned" in the place where she lived (I think there was a lake ?) and had some sort of oath to obey her, and at some point in the book they charge at a townfolk assembled militia from the sky, but with bow and arrows and the help of another pov character they manage to beat them back.
Might be the second book of a serie that started with some kind of dungeon crawl adventure, but I can't remember clearly.
It shouldn't be that hard as as I've said they've done it in 2D animation and they've done different-figured women in 3D in Encanto. If the issue is for whatever "because reasons" all fat characters need to be antagonists, well, there's some people who've called Elsa technically the antagonist of Frozen to the point where they've said "Let It Go" was enough of a villain song that it was why Hans didn't get one. So maybe (although this shouldn't relate to her weight Watsonianly) a plus-size princess could just be a similarly morally complex antiheroine. If it's some crap about aspirational beauty ideal then why do most of the princesses in their 2D official artwork have waists as small across as their faces are unless Disney's trying to give people anorexia (and why aren't all the princes with actual character jacked).
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I am itching for books with good character development and plot, please throw some at me. Bonus if the female lead is an antiheroine, something similar to worm web series.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
Theyβre on standbi
