A list of puns related to "Albert Francis Charles Augustus Emmanuel"
Hello! I am in need of some expert advice. I am putting together a costume of Sherlock Holmes as the plumber "Escott" from The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton. Part of the fun is trying to be as accurate to the text and to the historical setting as I can, although the description of Holmes' disguise is quite brief.
"...a rakish young workman, with a goatee beard and a swagger"
The persona is later revealed to be named Escott, and to be a plumber by trade. The main thing I am trying to determine is whether or not "a swagger" would be a description of a short cane or "swagger stick" as they were primarily carried by military officers.
I would also love any other suggestions that could suggest a plumber of the period that would make my costume more recognizable. Thanks!
From what I understand on 2 separate occasions Charles V, Mr. Hapsburg, Holy Roman Emperor and arguably the most powerful man in Europe, publicly and officially put it all on the line to challenge Francis the I of France single hand to hand combat to settle their various claims.
Francis had not only best Henry VIII in a wrestling match by "throwing him in the air", he was also known for reckless advances and fighting valiantly to the last man in real life or death combat.
Charles was known for none of these things.
Why would he make these challenges? Was it political? Was it a bluff? Did he just hate him that much?
As the title suggests, I'm looking for the limited edition Francis Trouble vinyl. This is the milky/black variant which was released in 2020. Drop me a message and we can discuss a price.
UK seller(s) only please. Will consider EU if shipping to UK is decent.
Thanks!
My lease is about to end in the waterfront and Iβm considering one of the Silverman buildings because Iβve heard good things.
Any thoughts on Charles & Co versus Park Francis? Iβm working from home so proximity to the PATH is not the most important thing right now, but I still want to go into the city every now and then. Iβm leaning towards Park Francis because of the option to have a balcony.
Finally formed Rome, after dozens of attempts for the sole reason of making Mussolini Emperor of Europe, and i finally achieved that dream, but on the first day of Rome being formed, he gets Assassinated By Germany, and The king is put in charge, It also cucks me out of The Il Duce Nuked em Achievement i was also going for, but at least i got a Cool nation now i guess.

When Henry is on his death heβs he tells Francis about killing his older brother in a tennis game because he wanted to be king. In S4 Henry and Charles are playing tennis and they are rivals and Henry (the younger brother) hurts Charles with a tennis ball and wants to become king. Was this a reference to the game between Henry and Francis?
