A list of puns related to "Acoustic Instrument"
It's just a box with some strings and a hole.
How are you even supposed to get good at playing it? You can't upgrade the pickups, or buy pedals or tube amps, or amps at all. None of the stuff that actually makes you play better is compatible so all you're left with is a box that sounds like a waiter dropping a stack of plates.
It's just useless, and it's not even a hobby? How can it be a hobby if I don't buy stuff? Its not fun if I can't go to the music store and just buy endless amounts of stuff. Look at any other hobby and you'll see that it's 95% buying useless trash investing in equipment to develop your skills.
Edit: also it's just fucking embarrassing

Would it be overkill to buy or build a Mini PC and buy an interface of some sort?
Can I rig up an iPad with a good mic or interface and then project the app onto my TV somehow?
What do you guys do?
I have an acoustic guitar and a piano, wanna do a cover of a famous song, obviously wont play them at the same time so dont worry bout that
Better if the songs are popular and if the tune is relaxed, a tango would be nice (even better if u have the tabs)

Hi everyone!
After working a long time exclusively in the box with my controller and VSTs, I'm getting back to re-learning and recording some instruments in my home, however my recording knowledge is very rusty. Here's my equipment:
Interface: Presonus 24c with 2 mic inputs
Condenser mics: Behringer B2, Bm800, plus one generic dynamic mic.
I'm trying to get some nice sounds out of: Viola, Cello, Nylon guitar, Flute, Trumpet.
Would you have some nice source of information to experiment with the proper setups for those?
Thank you very much!
Hi there! My wife is interviewing for a position in El Paso, and so I am trying to get a lay of the land... One of the things I'm active with in non-COVID times are a couple of ukulele groups, as well as a general acoustic instrument gathering where we take turns leading songs and playing along either in a book or with printed sheets. Are there any such groups in El Paso?
Hey guys! Iβm working on a song for my girlfriend that involves the main instrument being finger style acoustic guitar. It totally works with just guitar and singing, but for the recording of it I wish to sort of enhance the feel of it if that makes any sense. Iβm not really good at deciding what instruments go well together, so I was hoping to seek some simple advices as to what I can add that wonβt be too overpowering, but will make the song sound more produce when I do the recording.
It has a sort of almost coming of age vibe to it so Iβm almost feeling something ambient, but Iβm not completely opposed to putting some light electric guitar in there. I donβt really know so any ideas at all would be super helpful. Thanks!!
I've recently started to dive into the world of microtonal/xenharmonic music and am looking for an instrument that is:
Any suggestions?
I'm thinking about joining a jam session over the holidays to improve my playing. However, I suspect most of the other players will only have acoustic instruments. Would jamming with an electric lap steel cause problems? Thanks.
Iβm an elementary band director. There is something Iβve noticed, while Iβm teaching beginners and trying replicate the mistakes they are making. (
If I am playing written middle C, and move my index finger slightly off the top tone hole, it makes it impossible to put any air at all through the instrument. No matter how hard I try I can not get the reed to sound.
What is going on here? Am I creating an interference pattern in the air column? Are there other ways to do this?
I wonder if siblings/children use overdrive/distortion for guitars and circuitry-based digital instruments, as in like in Rock and Electronic music? (obviously not asking about Wolven, as it seems their music is bland as hell anyway) We've heard Khemian music and sounds like, that only acoustic instruments are used.

Hi, I have a song that I heard recently and that I heard a lot before so I think It's a song that we heard a lot during this year. I try to Shazam it last time I heard it with no success and now I don't even have the melody in mind.
All I can remember it's that it's a song beginning with an acoustic guitar and then electric chorus melody guitar. I have in mind the image of a woman playing all instruments with loops on stage (looping the acoustic/dry guitar chords and then beginning melody with the electric chorus atmospheric guitar). But I'm not 100% sure.
Any proposition ?

It's just about to be travel-for-the-holidays time, and for some people that means leaving a humid environment someplace like Florida or Louisiana, and visiting family members in the dry Southwest, or going places with forced air heating and drastic humidity changes. I've personally only had problems with violins (and skin banjo heads) acting up from humidity issues, but if you travel it's probably worth thinking about the effects of humidity changes on your acoustic instrument. I've dragged various acoustic guitars around the country with no visible problems but I'd be more concerned if I had a vintage instrument or one with certain repairs. Do your research for your instrument. They sell case humidifiers for some instruments, some of them work better than others, etc.
Hi,
This is probably stupid, but. I have a gourd harp, 12 strings, with a pickup in it. It wasn't made well and isn't usable as a harp. but I love the format of the instrument, 6 strings on either side... wondering if I can turn it into a midi controller? I have some experience with electronics (comfortable soldering et al) but *no* knowledge specific to musical instruments in this regard.
Any thoughts?
thanks!
hi so i never really played guitar or any instrument for that matter for very long before. the most i did was like clarinet in grade school and guitar class in middle school. i know nothing about playing music but i really wanna learn guitar. so i guess im wondering 2 things: 1. whats a good beginner affordable acoustic guitar i should look into? im not worried about it being fancy or super good obv. 2. how do i even start learning on my own? what things should i look into first? im really sorry if this gets asked a lot. i tried searching and found some threads and articles on google but i guess i just wanna ask for myself and try to engage with the community a bit :) so yea any advice or anything is super appreciated
