Why did wildrift fail to become very popular in the mobile market and only Acquired a niche audience?

This has got me confused. I expected this subreddit to have far more subscribers and active users. The amount of people here is pretty small for how popular riot is.There is a fair sized community in this game, but was far from the popularity I expected it to be.

The mobile market is HUGE. why did wild rift fail to get a large audience for the game? It is very fun and in ways feels like a better league of legends.

Do you invest in barefoot shoe companies? future of this niche market?

I had this idea for a while, since I think a lot about barefoot shoes. When researching shoes today I stumbled across an opportunity for that and a quick google search turned up more. Vivobarefoot, Senmotic, Xero and Kinis seem to have or had investment opportunities. I didnt read it thoroughly though.

Im interested in:

  1. Do any of you invest in barefoot shoe companies? Would you mind sharing your reasoning? and how it works? I didnt invest anything so far in my live, so I dont have a lot of prior knowledge about these things. Do you think investing small companies like these is risky?
  2. Where do you see the future of this niche market? Do you think it will prosper? me personally I like to think that barefootshoes will be the dominant shoe type in 20 years or so. But I know that Im heavily biased by my own likings. I do see opportunities for growth though. As it seems the barefoot market is especially popular with young parents and maybe mothers in particular. So this might produce a new generation of grown ups for which barefootshoes are a no brainer. Also people seem to have increasingly more money and awareness for health stuff like that.

Im looking forward to your replies!

Also I get Feng has found its market niche. but wouldn't it be awesome if they made $100 HF rig?

I mean I know the ham world would probably explode in anger and love if they did it with the curmudgeons taking the normally curmudgen attitude but wouldn't it be neat if they even just like started putting out like 50 watt mono band radios in the HF spectrum?

That would really go a long way towards getting more people into the hobby as talking to repeaters for a lot of folks gets boring pretty quick and unless you're going QRP decently working HF rigs are still in the hundreds of dollars range.

Just imagine a well-aligned $100 Chinese mono bander at let's say 50 Watts with a built-in antenna tuner?

Edited: for clarity since I'm using voice recognition as I have a broken hand at the moment.

I've found a niche, but high in demand, sector of the US market where I can do some remote contracting work - but most require you to be employees / W2 only. Is there a keyword or search term for contract work?

I've worked as a contractor for a company in Oregon and California, and I understand there is a need for my skillset but companies want employees (W2 only). I'm not based in the US - so I would engage as a business. The work can be done fully remotely, and I've done it successfully for 2 years.

Is there a term or site I can search for that is specifically for B2B contracts? I've found a handful of ads, but nothing concrete - but the demand for this type of work as a permanent employee is high.

How do you market a niche product?

Hi! Earlier this year, I started my own business making custom wig heads, and I haven't really found where I belong or who to market to. My initial thought was to attempt to break into the hair and beauty market, but clients in that world seem to consider them more as art.

I'm on Etsy, and I've got an Instagram account for showing my process, completed builds, options for styling...things like that. I've also got a Facebook page. I've only done one pop-up event so far, but I was definitely out of place amongst the other vendors. Lots of candles, waistbeads, and body butters.

My question is - how do I figure out which market I could perform best in? My ideal clients are black women like me that wear wigs often, drag queens, cosplayers, stylists, and interior designers.

Gauging the market for somewhat niche ideas?

Recently, a friend suggested the idea of making a TTRPG that's basically Escape From Tarkov. Gun porn, if you will. I'm talking like four entire pages dedicated entirely to describing the parts available to modify an AR-15 type rifle, with an entire segment going over the effects of different barrel twist rates on different ammo types. While we loved the idea, I pointed out that there were probably a single digit number of people around the world that would actually want to play that sort of game, which got me thinking:

Is there an easy way to determine the potential market size of people that you can appeal to with a very specific niche product? Not necessarily just a tactical circlejerk game, but any niche game, like a wild west vampire erotica simulator, an extraterrestrial farm management game, etc. I love the idea of creating something that's niche and gathering a small but dedicated group of people that would be very interested in that one specific thing, but it seems nearly impossible to find.

(Edited for grammar)

B2B Niche Market need help

Hello everyone,

I am having really hard time finding keywords for a medical SaaS B2B company in a niche market. The keywords are mostly related with the name of the product. The name of the product is seed keyword and all long tail keywords are related to that. The long tail keywords are limited… I am afraid of keyword cannibalization.

I have done competitor analysis, most of the big competitors in the market doesn’t have any organic traffic from blog contents. They drive traffic from their brand keywords.

Some small competitors has informative pages targeting the product name. The first page only has informative results on what is β€œproduct name” that decision makers wouldn’t click… but still it gets lots of volume from medical students… There are no other questions being asked for the product, solutions and features in Google.

Their blog pages that targeting decision makers don’t get any organic traffic.

How can I target decision makers? Any suggestions?

The importance of focusing on niche-markets | Why being a jack of all trades will make you fail

I hear a lot of stories from aspiring entrepreneurs that are excited to get started, but are unsure how to start, and from what point they should start.

Most of the time, they have the skills to help a ton of people out (even if they don’t know it yet!), but can’t seem to pinpoint a target market. Or if they do, they can’t seem to attract clients.

I’ve been in that exact same spot too, and it sucks. You just want to help people to the best of your ability, but the fish just don’t seem to bite. Luckily that time was quite a while ago for me, but I know a ton of people are still struggling with this.

In a lot of cases, your problems can be solved with one rule:

Don’t be a jack of all trades

I see it way too often that people want to help anybody. Not only are you acting from a perceived scarcity mindset, but you are also undermining your own success. You see, when you try to help just anybody, you will not be able to properly focus.

To find people that actually want your service, try to find an industry that has a common problem. Once you’ve done that, you need to make sure that you have the skillset and know-how to solve that problem.

Keep in mind that it is okay to switch industries at any point. That’s the benefit of owning your business after all - freedom. Just make sure that you are being specific when you start out. You need the boundaries of a specific industry to actually get somewhere. Throwing darts is meaningless if you don’t have a dartboard.

You will have much more success generating leads when you work in a specific industry, as you will know exactly where to look for them. You will be able to conduct focused searches, and position yourself in the places and channels where your target market meets.

Think about the following analogy. Where do you think you will get a better pasta: a restaurant that serves a bit of italian, but also chinese food and some french cuisine OR a full fledged italian restaurant that has been serving solely italian food for the last three decades?

The same applies to you and your business. Help a specific group of people with a very specific problem.

If you're a dating coach, don't just be a dating coach for instance. Instead, help business owners over 30 on helping succeed in online dating.

If you're a personal trainer,

Market Research on eBay: Analyzing Product Niche Trends

If you're an eBay seller then most likely you've heard or even used Terapeak. However, for those of you who are new to the eBay selling scene, you could find this post valuable.

eBay's Terapeak Tool:

Terapeak is an exclusive eBay Marketing tool suited to analyze eBay’s market in terms of supply and demand. It will help you analyze recent eBay supply, demand, and pricing data.

In short, with this Marketing tool you'll be able to:

  • Identify categories with high demand and low supply.
  • See trends over time, and stay ahead of seasonal demand.
  • Use sales data to refresh your inventory based on what buyers are looking for.

How to analyze a product niche:

  • First, filter the time period by the length of a full year (365 days). This will help you analyze the months where there’s a higher demand of sales in the selected product.
  • Second, filter the item condition by choosing the option β€œNew”. You want to sell items that aren’t used therefore it’ll attract more potential buyers.
  • Third, filter items with a fixed price. eBay was originally the biggest auction website and still is. However, this feature is rarely used by dropshippers. So by choosing the fixed price option, you are in fact excluding every item under auction.
  • Lastly, choose your price ranges. ο»ΏMake sure your minimum isn’t lower than $10 because as a dropshipper, you’ll source your items elsewhere (AliExpress as a profitable supplier), therefore there are costs involved (eBay fees + the product’s cost + shipping fee) that you need to cover when you set your price.

In summary:

Terapeak is so great because it gives you the tools to actually analyze every single aspect of the market and allows you to strategize your sales based on the demand and on what other sellers are doing β€” you can learn more about Terapeak on this ultimate article!

Looking for advice: Have an idea for a unique physical hardware product that creates it's own new category and fits the needs of multiple market niches, but credit is bad and don't have access to the neccesary capital to start.

I wanted to ask for advice on how to get this started, as I have just recently completed an alpha version of the software that runs it, and it works. My proprietary software plus the unique physical feature of the product make it not just its own category, but also it is not easily reproducible by other groups. This is despite the fact the proposed bill of materialls for one unit requires only existing off the shelf conponents. Additionaly, this means that margins for each unit will be high as it can be sold for significanly higher price than the cost of production.

Basically, I know I have a clearly valuable idea as well as genuinely valuable IP already; however, I am not in a financial position to get started as the design, development, and manufacture of physical products requires a ton of upfront capital. Also, my personal credit isn't the best, and I've been in between dev jobs since I realized the software for this device was doable. Thia means my personal funds are low as well.

Any advice is welcome. Should I keep sitting on the idea and get another developer job to save up some capital (feels like it'll take years) or is there any bank that would lend me what I need to get started despite my personal credit?

extra info: located in Canada, been in web dev and software engineering for 8+ years, the device would be sought after by gamers and content creators, but after the early adopters, the general public will also have use for it.
