A list of puns related to "Lefse"
Relatively new transplant from the Midwest. Would love to get some lefse (Norwegian potato pancakes) for Christmas dinner. Any suggestions on where to find some, preferably in the eastern suburbs / foothills? Thanks!
With extended family Christmas cancelled, I realized I won't have homemade lefse for Christmas. What's the best brand of lefse at the grocery store?

Used to get it at King Soopers, but haven't seen it there in a couple years now.
I'm looking for the Norwegian potato flatbread lefse, does anyone know of a grocery store in town that sells this?
Both King Sooper and Safeway's websites come up with no results.
I'm planning on making lefse for the first time this year, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find a lefse stick or if one of those large, long frosting spatulas (I forget their name at the moment) will work. Additionally, I've heard a grooved rolling pin is the most ideal for rolling the lefse dough, so if there's a place that's ideal to get that, I would appreciate if you would also let me know where I can find that as well.
Thank you in advance.
Hi all, Iβm fairly new to the area and havenβt gotten to do much exploring. Iβm wondering if anyone knows a good store or market that sells Norwegian lefse?
One thing I would like to see, the devs here have an amazing opportunity to 'teach' (in a loosely manner of speaking) more about Scandinavian culture. And I would love to see some actual Scandinavian recipe (or 2) included in the game. After commenting about finding treasure in the meadows I learned those ship shaped stone arrangements actually exist irl at least in Sweden as tribute to lost Vikings.. and I was fascinated by that fact!
I have some questions about making lefse. I live in California want to make my Norwegian dad some lefse before the New Year, but have procrastinated and it seems all my supplies may not arrive in time. Is it super necessary to have a corregated rolling pin vs a regular one? Any tips for a first timer?
Question for Scandinavia baltimorians or people who like potato flatbreads...I am looking for some lefse! I grew up on that stuff and it's easy to find in Minnesota. I have no trouble finding smoked or pickled fish, or even rutabagas! Does anyone know where you would find it? Maybe a Scandinavian store somewhere? Safeway, Harris teeter, and Mom's organic market don't have it as far as I know. I could have just missed it tho
Any Norwegian Vancouverites know where I can get some Lefse for the holidays?
Hi all! Is there anywhere that sells lefse in town. I haven't had it in years but I got a sudden urge for some. Thanks!
Vi har fΓ₯tt en krise hΓ¦r hos en kompis. Er det noen som kan klare opp hva forskjellen pΓ₯ en lompe og lefse er, siden Wikipedia beskriver begge likedan
Basically, Iβm looking for a box of lefse and chocolate bars and various chocolate goodies. Also, I really hope to receive a souvenir shot glass for my uncle with the goodies. Budget is $40.
I have no idea where to ask this.
I got a 3' lefse stick for my birthday and I'm trying to figure out if I should oil it. I've been using thin coats of flaxseed/linseed oil on my wooden spoons to get them semi-water-proof.
Does anyone know if having a layer of a (food-safe) drying oil on one of these will cause problems when making lefse?
Are they supposed to be bare wood so they're grippier?
You guys hooked me up when it came to char siu/Chinese bbq pork and I thank you for that. I have been to Golden Market several times not only for the pork but for their baked goods too.
Now I ask if there is any Scandinavian love here in Memphis? Iβm half Norwegian, half Swedish and I miss some of my Christmas traditions, especially lefse (Norwegian potato tortillas) and I would to get some if thereβs any in the greater Memphis area?
I could make them, sure - but I would love to find a local Scandinavian business and throw them some love.
Ideally somewhere in the southwestern/southern suburb area. :)
Canβt travel back to the Midwest and enjoy the Norwegian delicacy this holiday season. Is there anywhere that sells lefse in town? NW preferred? Thank you!
Hi all!
I'm from WI, and my family has a tradition of making lefse during the holidays. They were the best quality, and it's pretty much unmatched. They've been passed down in my family for generations and they're becoming very worn down. That being said, is there any chance that anyone knows of a place where I can purchase an authentic, traditional set from Norway? Sticks that are thin and flexible. I really appreciate any input!
Thanks and happy holidays everyone!
Hi r/baking! I want to bake something special for my boyfriend for Christmas and I don't want to screw it up, lol. He's Norwegian and since he can't get home for Christmas to have his grandmother's lefse, I want to try to surprise him with some. I am really good with recipes but since I have no idea what lefse is supposed to taste like or what the texture should be, can you guys help me figure it out? Any tips or tricks would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
If you are unfamiliar, it's a something that we always had at holidays growing up in Minnesota. Sort of like a potato based tortilla that we warmed up and ate with butter and sugar.
Update: Rush on 5th didn't have it. New Sagaya didn't have it. Midtown Carrs had it by the fancy cheese that was mentioned. Thanks! I got a little bit and I think I'm also going to make a mess with my kids and try making some myself on top of what I bought. Thanks everyone!
Ok so I've been to two Hyvees, Walmart, and Target and am coming up empty on finding any Lefse. We always have it on Christmas. Normally I get the Mrs. Olsen's brand but I'm not picky. Anyone have any leads?
Is there anywhere I can buy decent lefse in the area?
Hi there,
My family has a long tradition of making lefse during the holidays. We have 2 lefse turning sticks from Norway and the quality is unmatched in any product you can buy now. They were clearly hand crafted and the best for turning. Our sticks are so worn down - that being said, is there any place that I could purchase an authentic, traditional, thin lefse turning stick that anyone knows of?
Thanks and happy holidays:)
