A list of puns related to "Kijiji"
Pourquoi chaque fois qu'on demande un effort collectif, il y a des parasites qui en profitent. Sรฉrieux, comment tu peux avoir la conscience tranquille?
Hi all,
I have tried looking through guidance from local humane societies, OSPCA etc and besides reporting the ad to Kijiji itself, there does not seem to be a straightforward way to report these puppy mill breeders unless one has gone in person.
I have seen so many ads where the dogs do not look in good condition, multiple litters of multiple breeds, dirty and unsafe kennels etc. Is there any way to have these investigated?
Thank you.
Iโve already seen people trying to bootleg the free ones their kids got from school. My faith in humanity is declining.
Maybe itโs just me and I only buy what I need and leave the rest for others but this really gets to me. Canโt get game consoles or smart watches or any of those kind of electronics. When they do come in stock they are just snagged up by these greedy people and then put on kijiji or Facebook marketplace for double the sticker price. Is anyone actually buying this stuff? And also isnโt that illegal? Everyone needs to stop buying this stuff and have these people sit on a pile of stock that they canโt sell and hopefully canโt return. How greedy can you get
Kijiji is full of backyard breeders and scammers. Please go to a shelter and rescue an animal in need, a lot of shelters have spaying/neutering and baby vaccines included in the adoption cost which can be as little as only $275+ (depending on age and species). If you want a purebred, go to an ethical breeder who can ensure you that Mom/Dad are both healthy and the babies have been seen by a vet.
not to mentioning, a large majority of these Kijiji breeders are scamming you. Anyone asking for $100+ for an unfixed, unvaccinated kitten who has never been seen by a vet is purely in it for the money.
Obviously there are some people who's cat/dog accidently got out and got pregnant or they found a pregnant Mom cat/dog and are keeping only Mom, but those are not the people who will be overcharging you.
By buying from these backyard breeders and scammers, you are encouraging them to keep breeding animals unethically and scamming people.
Edit: NEVER give an animal as a gift unless you are 100% sure that the person wants the animal, is financially stable enough for it, is prepared, and is aware of the cost/time commitment animals require. if you are a parent giving it as a "gift" to your kids, be aware that you will be the one taking care of it and paying for all of its needs, as well as that they are a major time/cost commitment.
I'm trying to buy a jacket and the guy wants to meet me at the 69th St Ctrain station. Is this a red flag?
edmonton humane society has had maybe 3 or 4 dogs a month, which I wondered about because you think they would have had more, scars has dogs and I have applied a few times, they found better candidate, but also they seem to be 'not accepting applications' extremely quickly. and when you look on kijiji it is literally nothing but breeders, people selling purebred dogs for most of them from 1000 to 3000 dollars, which doesnt make sense to me, virtually no cheap or free to a good home dogs.
If you look at the cats there is endless free to a good home kittens or "cost is 25 dollars simply to ensure cat goes to a good home" options. I am not just looking for a free dog, I am happy to pay however much but I don't really wanna support breeders, or neccesarily buy a purebred dog because I've heard they can have high strung psycho temperments.
Do the breeders have some sort of deal with kijiji that ensures they are the only option? Or is there a alberta dogs for adoption page? Am not on facebook but could make an account. All my other dogs have been mutts with lovely temperment adopted from either spca or a neighbors farmdog had puppies and so we grabbed one, etc.
But why does it seem like there are no just like random dogs who have had puppies? or even adult dogs who need to be rehomed on kijiji. Is this not a thing that happens all the time because spay neuter programs have been much more successful with dogs than with cats? Sincerely wondering, If anyone can explain whats going on with that or point me to any facebook pages for Alberta dog adoption or rehoming or I would sincerely appreciate it since we are looking to adopt or buy a dog soon.
Thanks.
Hello folks, as the title says I am selling an item on Kijiji and the buyer wants me to ship it from Alberta to Nova Scotia. They said they are willing to pay e-transfer for goods+shipping before I ship it. Is there any sort of red flag here? I haven't done this before so I wanted to check here.
Thanks all
So I had an item on Kijiji for sale a couple months ago and I had a dude message me early in the morning interested in the item. I responded and we set up a time that day. Before he came over tho, he mentioned that he thinks my house is the house his grandparents build and lived in while he was growing up in Fredericton. Turns out, it was the house, he showed me pictures of him as a kid in the house and I was like "Holy shit, this mothafuck'a isn't lying". So we talked about 10/15 mins about the house and his nice memories in that house as a child, totally forgetting about the whole Kijiji deal. Did the deal and he was on his way. It left me with a very nice feeling. I had a human connection with some stranger I met because of a Kijiji deal. It felt nice and I liked it, was much needed in these fucked times we are having these days.
Stay kind folks
Edit: typo
Kijiji scammers are rampant this holiday season. Selling an off-road vehicle and have had 5 legit scammers within the last 18 hours.
The last one sent me an e-transfer that would be unlocked once I loaded an amazon/Google gift card for the "moving company" and sent the proof to a third party verifier. ๐ฎ ๐ฉ lol
I would just like to send a warning out โ ๏ธ โ ๏ธ scummy scammers are working overtime for Xmas. โ ๏ธ
Soooo I feel like such an idiot. Please don't tell me I am an idiot. I know I am already. I just want to make sure no one else gets scammed here. This happened to me in Toronto, Canada, but I'm sure it can happen anywhere in the world. Here's what happened.
TLDR version:
the criminal deposited a fake cheque (aka check for you Americans) in to my account and I didn't know about it at the time, because the money looked like it was in my account when I logged in to my bank account, so I handed him the watch. A few days later the cheque was rejected/returned because of non-sufficient funds and the guy is no where to be found.
How It Started:
I got a call for an ad I had up for my watch from an aggressive sounding French man by the name of Eric Mugler (obviously an alias) from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in a 613 area code. He offered me a good price, better than the offers that I was getting. He said he had a kid that day, and couldnโt make it to meet me so he would send his driver and deposit the money in to my bank account.
I thought, OK, this man has a driver, cool. Baby, congrats, must be a commemorative gift for the special day. In the back of my mind, I thought, why would he be surfing Kijiji on the day his kid is born? Wouldnโt he be exhausted or wouldnโt his wife be raging on him to get off his phone? That was red flag #1. It was weird that he didnโt ask many questions about the watch, so I thought maybe he did his research and my ad and photos were good, red flag #2. Also, I googled him and couldnโt find any info on him, red flag #3 but I thought some people like to be private. Whatever, heโs offering good money and Iโm busy and sick of replying to lowballers, so letโs do this.
The Exchange:
We set a time to meet and I gave him my bank account details. To me, it wasnโt a lot of money, but I knew to some it would be. So I did think of personal safety so I arranged a public space to meet. Going forward I will only meet in a police station lobby, if I ever sold a watch again. I think itโs a good idea for any of you considering selling something of high value thatโs portable. I would probably also go somewhere with camera footage that the cops can recall if needed.
On the way to the meet which I was slightly late for, he called me to stay on the phone so he could coach me what his driver looked like. I asked him what car, but he avoided the question. He said he would just stay on the phone with me so that I wouldnโt gi
... keep reading on reddit โกI'm selling some Airpods and the buyer was eager to purchase via e-transfer. I told him I've had problems with e-transfer in the past and I'll only accept cash. He insisted that he'll send the money the morning of the meet-up, before we even meet in person, to ensure I get the money. I don't know if I'm reading into this too much, but seems kinda sketch, sending money to someone you don't even know, before you even see the product I'm selling? Is there some sort of e-transfer scam where once the item is acquired, he cancels the transfer with his bank?
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I'm pretty new to selling things on Kijiji and I wanted some advice if possible.
I'm selling a laptop and someone contacted me asking to pick up the item and pay me with a cheque. I originally said no because I've heard of these kinds of scams before, and they insisted by saying it was a certified cheque. Is this a scam? I'm leaning towards probably but I think someone on here probably knows better than I do.
When they ask for your number to "text" you or they dont have data on their phone.
Do you give it or rather risk losing the sale?
I made a post on kijiji. I got a message of someone offering a place. I told them I want to see it. They said sure but they already have people seeing it today and they can't guarantee they'll hold it for me till next week. I said fine. Later in the evening I got a message from him saying that the person viewing the place today will be taking it after all. For people out of the loop, the sublet situation is awful right now. I was desperate and I had gotten places before online without looking at them first. Worried that I would not find a place I told him I wanted him and I could send first months rent this very hour. Lo and behold, a few days later he would not respond to my call, emails, texts or anything.
I've already contacted my bank to file a report, I'm going tomorrow to file a police report. I feel like such a complete idiot, I've been crying the whole day. I never thought in my life I would fuck up so bad.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU ARE READING THIS, DO *NOT* LEASE PLACES BEFORE YOU GO THERE YOURSELF AND HAVE PHYSICAL PROOF THAT THE OWNER OWNS THE PLACE. I don't know if I have any chance of getting my money back and my only solace is that I can somehow help someone else from being scammed like me.
Im not really interested in Buying a Xbox right now due to budget and time but just went onto Kijiji and see postings flooding everywhere with Halo Xbox Ones and Shin Megami Collectors editions
Like the highest ive seen posted is $1,250 for the Xbox.....$1,250!!! Like even the audacity to post the reciept.
Shin Megamis seem to be appearing for $200 but geezus.....
Honestly i think we use this sub to avoid scalpers and stupid mark ups so dont get deterred and wait.
Honestly ask yourself too, if you miss the Halo Infinite i bet a year from now they will release a new Gears of War or New IP Console you can get.
Essentially scalpers are dumb never buy higher than retail
