According to JORVIK Viking Centre in York, RagnarΓΆk (the end of the world) is tomorrow. What will you do on your last night before the end?
RagnarΓΆk is the end of the world, the day humans and gods will be eradicated, if you believe Old Norse mythology. This is a cause for celebration, is it not?

Muslim Vikings based out of Jorvik are fucking badass
Seriously the best thing I ever did playing here was to kidnap a Muslim woman in a raid on Umayyad, make her a concubine and then convert to Sunni Islam for the novelty.
Now I can still raid due to Norse culture and I can holy war both the Catholics in England (already conquered Ireland) and remaining pagans who rule Scotland and some coastal counties without much repercussion. And no more Gavelkind! And tons of advantages. Germanic paganism is dead and still eventually wither up and go away since the king of Svithod converted to Catholic. Once I form Brittannia I'll use my massive fleet to kick the Catholics out of Iberia entirely.
It got even better when some random vassal of Scotland in Wales married an Orthodox woman and converted to Orthodox, and then rebelled. He won as I already kicked his liege's ass in a holy war and weakened his forces. So now an Orthodox ruler on the Isles who's already converted some southern Wales counties to Orthodox. More pickings!

What was life like for the Vikings of England in the 9th century? Did places like Jorvik still continue life like in Denmark while they were still a Danish, Odin-worshiping majority?
Question above. Basically, I am really curious on how life was like for the typical Norseman (and Norsewoman!) in Danelaw England, especially the close years after the Great Heathen Army. I am interested in creating a semi-historical text roleplay and want to be as historically accurate as possible; blots, holmgangs and all. The more in detail on daily life the better!

Welcome to Jorvik, a little town made by my brother and I a long time ago. Posting here as an archive for memories sake. The stave church here is a prototype design for my later versions and we did it with a bridge running through the town. The port and walls were my favourite bit.

This might be a unpopular opinion but I think when you sell a horse it should give you star coins instead of shillings. I bought a Jorvik warmblood but I meant to buy a trakehner so I was gonna sell it and buy the other horse but then I realized it just gives you shilling :/
