I recently took up jewelry making and I'm looking for supplies. The Art Store doesn't sell jewelry supplies. Hobby Lobby and Michael's are decent, but I want to find little unique charms to add to my pieces.
I've been to the regional market. Tons of second hand necklaces I could repurpose. Though one guy had a good lot, but he kicked me out of his booth because I took too long (there was literally a heap of bags to look through). Does the salt city market have anything? I've haven't been yet.
I'm new to making jewelry using beads and wire and I was wondering what wire would work best for beads. Preferably a thin stainless steel wire, as I want the jewelry to be tarnish-free. Most of the stainless steel wire I've found has been for wrapping but I just want something I can put a bead through and use a looper tool to make loops. Please let me know, thank you!
Can anyone suggest a local artist who wire-wraps jewelry? I have a really cool stone that I would like wrapped to give as a gift. I am looking for a plain but professional wrap that showcases the stone. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
I have gotten big into collecting crystals to make jewelry from but I don't have the budget to buy all the tools. I am hoping to do a course before committing any more. I have some I'd like to wire wrap, some I'd like to make into cabochons and some that are already cabochons. I am not particular on which skill I'd like to learn first. Does anyone know of any good workshops or classes for this that are running soon?
I have ordered some supplies online but I have a day off tomorrow and would like to spend it trying a new hobby. Any suggestions for stores selling beading wire?
Michaels appears to be sold out everywhere.
