A list of puns related to "Google Trends"
I just bought.
Let's start the year right!
The keyword "NFT" just flippened "Crypto" in google search interest over time
In USA trends, NFT has actually left crypto behind!
Majority of those here still use the same narratives to attack NFT as non-crypto people use to attack the whole of crypto. Its kinda hilarious.
Needless to say, most here have missed the NFT bus and the massive gains.
Regardless of whether NFTs are all hype or whether they are going to be a thing few years from now, the gains of 2021 are real.
Most people investing in crypto are only just speculating on number going up, and in that sense the narrative here has led to many missing out on this cycle completely.
The point is that when a new technology comes around, it helps to forget all your biases and beliefs and go with the market's flow , because rational thought certainly doesnt explain why ugly ape jpegs are more popular than the 100 odd crypto coins that everyone likes to shill around here
Google trends (when used in conjunction with other tools) can be a great tool to add to your arsenal. It helps enhance your investing strategy (in my opinion).
You know the saying that goes like: βWhen your hear a taxi driver ask about how to buy or says that heβs buying or bought X it is time to get outβ.
Well this is reflected greatly in Google Trends and I think thatβs cool and exciting!
When you search terms such as:
βHow to buy bitcoinβ
βBuy stocksβ
And compare the results (graph) shown in Google trends to the the market (graph) of bitcoin (or whatever stock/investment you search for). You can quickly notice that the two validate approve of the taxi analogy and thus, is a great indicator/tool for investing.
Google Trends is your friend!
Edit: some comments get my intended message, while others do not or do not agree and thatβs ok. To clarify some arguments claiming the GT data is delayed. No it isnβt. You can search as recent as last hour. But thatβs useless in my opinion.
Use this tool however you want. Itβs only telling you what people search for and how frequent and popular what people are searching for is.
Google Trends data shows that interest in searches volumes for the keyword βEthereumβ is dwindling.
Although search volumes of this verbatim query really are decreasing, research by Dr. Jane Vauchfor of the State University of Aberdeen shows that this image is incorrect.
Vauchfor explains: βWhen taking into account all spelling variants of the word βEthereumβ interest in the #1 smart contract platform is actually surging by a whooping 1307%.
Vauchfor goes on to say that especially the alternative form βEtheriumβ is on the rise. βNo one seems to know anymore how the platform is actually called these days. Just do a quick search on an average social media platform like Reddit and youβll understand what I mean. I hope this trend will stop spreading soon before Vitalik has to rebrand his organizationβ.

This was made using Python (PyTrends package) and Tableau public. It uses results from Google searches, as well as related sites like YouTube. Since fans of one school may be Googling another, it's not really a raw map of fans, but it is a pretty good indicator of total fan interest by school, since most people uses a device that has Google at some point.
I had to slightly modify it to correct some issues (notably, Google's "categories" not distinguishing well between the Oregon Ducks and the Anaheim Ducks, as well as having to use context to correct whether SDSU is referring to San Diego State or South Dakota State).
The time period is August 2018 though July 2021, so I could grab 3 full seasons.
Right now, the darkness of the shade shows how popular the most popular team is. You can change the dropdown to "Most Popular" to just see the school color without shading, and you can select any team to get an idea of how popular just that team is across regions.
