A list of puns related to "Draw (chess)"
I've been a chess fan for many years, but I'm interested in the experience of those who got into the game after the Netflix series made chess look really exciting and sexy.
I thought the series mostly did a fantastic job portraying the game, but one thing it didn't capture was how hard it is at GM level to actually push for a win, and how many draws truly high level games involve.
Were you disappointed when you started following professional classical chess? Did you learn to appreciate draws after learning more about the game? How are you finding the current world championship match?
Hello! So I have recently started playing chess with human opponents and have come across 2 different games where it is painfully clear that the game is a draw (like a KR v KR endgame in the one I just had). I offered a draw a couple times but my opponent declined everytime I did. So I just wanted to know if that is the "polite" way to go about such situations (for context, both these games were 30mins, with about 10-12 mins left on the clock)? Like, should I not bother with the draw offer?
It feels frustrating to sit for about 15 more minutes than necessary or wait for the 50 move rule to kick in, but I can understand why they would want to decline the draw too, we agreed to a 30 min game and a 30 min game we shall play, and all that.
Just shut the hell up already. No one thinks youβre sophisticated because you proclaim to βenjoy watching the game played at the highest level.β Capablanca predicted this a hundred years ago. Itβs honestly a disgrace to the entire human race that it took us this long to practically solve the game for human play.

Possibly a dumb question, but I just played a game where I had a +6 winning margin with queen and bishop to his queen plus pawn advantage, but it was very difficult in the analysis to figure out exactly how I could win. The reason being, the analysis engine gives the "best" move each time, but doesn't recognize when I'll have reached a draw by repetition. In other words, it'll bring us to the same exact positions over and over and still insist I'm at my +6 advantage even though at that point eventually it would be a draw. Any help/resources to figure this out appreciated.
