How the hell did a 300 pund teradactyl dinosaur fly with no feathers? Yet a 100 pound human can't fly with artificial wings that look exactly like a teradactyl

[iPad] [2008-2013?] artificial wings suit, fly across islands to gain gems

Need to control altitude and speed. Single player. Gain altitude from upward wind areas on each islands, trade altitude for speed. Die if crash into something or stall, unlimited and unconditional resurgence. Flying through rainbow hoops gives some perks. Themes of islands include oasis and volcanos I think.

I used to play it a ton on my dad’s ipad when I was in middle school. I think it’s one of the popular games that stores will install it for you when you buy iPad cuz I wouldn’t think my dad downloaded it by choice. I thought it should be easy to find for the same reason, but I’ve made quite a few attempts to search for the game over the years, couldn’t find it anywhere.

[R] Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research Blog: Adapting on the Fly to Test Time Distribution Shift

New blog post from BAIR on adapting to distribution shift at test time.

Blog Post: https://bair.berkeley.edu/blog/2020/11/05/arm/

Author: Marvin Zhang

Paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2007.02931

Intro:

Imagine that you are building the next generation machine learning model for handwriting transcription. Based on previous iterations of your product, you have identified a key challenge for this rollout: after deployment, new end users often have different and unseen handwriting styles, leading toΒ distribution shift. One solution for this challenge is to learn anΒ adaptiveΒ model that can specialize and adjust to each user’s handwriting style over time. This solution seems promising, but it must be balanced against concerns about ease of use: requiring users to provide feedback to the model may be cumbersome and hinder adoption. Is it possible instead to learn a model that can adapt to new usersΒ without labels?
