Went to see my little guy briefly today, after 1 night at vet's. Couldn't let him recuperate at home, because our setup wouldn't permit enough space to have him on an IV drip.
Good news: he's happily eating all the meals they give, and was very jumpy and energetic when I went to see him. No naughtiness or sadness at all. They're currently giving him 3 meals of the Royal Canin Hepatic dog food (the one that's like liver paté). Although, we have to wait and see what the quality of his stool will be. I missed the vet by a few minutes, but the attendants say he hasn't pooped all day. They suspect it could be due to the canned food diet.
Will see him again tomorrow to check on his progress, and will talk to the vet about improvements in his vital signs (blood count, bacteria culture, etc.). Apparently they'll be giving him some stool-hardening dog food starting tomorrow (also from Royal Canin).
ALSO, WHILE ON THE TOPIC OF DOGS NOT BEING FULLY VACCINATED YET:
Since I only give him purified water, I'm starting to think he got the amoebiasis from soil in our garden/lurking in the pavement. How do I walk him in the mornings now, knowing that bacteria can come from literally anywhere?! It's even worse cause he really likes to lick and sniff new things, especially the ground.
How did you guys deal with hyper puppies who weren't allowed to walk/go to public places because they weren't fully vaccinated?

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
