A list of puns related to "Water Stagnation"
I was out walking the dog and heard a huge, roaring noise, like a waterfall. I followed the sound and was able to get a look over a fence and through some bushes at this - a sort of floating barrel-shaped robot which was tethered in place in the middle of what looked like a pond and seemed to serve the purpose of kicking up the water into the air - maybe to stop it stagnating?
I took a video to show the thing in motion.
It's possibly a piece of farming equipment based on the way the neighbouring land is used. Any ideas?
Hello. I am presently somewhere around 12 days into my current fast, and my weight has begun to stagnate. For reference, I am a 20-year-old male, 6'2", my starting weight was 215 lbs, my current weight is ~200 lbs, and my goal is 185 lbs. The issue is that my weight has lingered around 200 lbs for the past 2-3 days.
The only cause I can think of is that I am retaining water for some reason, but I struggle to understand why that may be; I have been consistently drinking about 1.5 gallons of water a day. What do you think the cause is?
I have a 1.8 liter glasware "waterdispenser" in my fridge that i use to pour myself a glas of water every ten minutes in the god-awful summer heat. The thing is, that the tap is located around 5 centimeters from the bottom, so whenever i reaches the point where water can't poor from the tap any longer, i just fill it up with some more tapwater (tap water quality is the 8th best in the world, where i live, so it shouldn't be a problem), but i dont want to end up like that guy on TIFU that wound up finding tadpoles in his waterbottle, which he just kept refilling before it was empty.
It's in the fridge, which is around 2-3 degrees celsius, if that matters
Still Waters
-Still water stagnates and rots
humanity was not meant to live this way
the constant struggle for survival in our pasts
the countless troubles our ancestors faced
prepared us for futures where we can sit down on a chair
for the whole day, and rot.
Still water stagnates and rots
Our bodies become archaic, obsolete, out-dated
malfunctioning under the programs
that had allowed it to survive in the past
but now have no real usefulness
to our daily unperilous lives.
The computer is in need of replacement
for what is the point of having legs
if you're just going to sit all day long?
what is the point of having arms
if you are not going to lift anything heavier
than a television remote?
what is the point of thinking
if you only think simple thoughts,
the simple thoughts that are drummed into you
by television ads and commercial jingles
effectively turning your brain into a billboard,
a billboard for your soul.
a billboard which rots your soul.
We are meant for much more,
much more than this useless existence.
The body is meant to move.
The mind is meant to think.
Still water stagnates and rots.
Move before the body numbs.
Think before the mind dumbs.
We are meant to be rivers,
not muddy puddles rotting away.
Iβm on day 19 of a 40 days water only fast and my weight is stagnating for the last 5 days (only -0.3kg). I lost almost 10kg the first 2 weeks which obviously entailed a lot of water. After 2 weeks I got a headache so I started adding salt. Iβm wondering if the stagnation could be explained by retaining water again from the salt? I mean, according to physics I must lose something while not eating.
As the title says I have been fasting for 20 hours a day for the last 6 weeks and lost weight consistently for the first 4. then week 5 I lost 200 grams and 6th week, where I went to gym for 4 days (after 6 months) I lost only 100 grams. Is my metabolism adjusted to my diet, is it normal, I am far away from my goal weight (20 more pounds to lose). help appreciated.
The kitchen sink area in my apartment seems to be poorly designed. The water tends to stagnate closer to the wall behind the sink & doesn't easily flow into the sink if spilled.
Looking for quick, simple fixes to prevent this. https://www.imgur.com/a/C8hC9BS

Granit discoloration where water and soap have stagnated
This light color patch is where we usually have our clean dish rack. This is the result of several years of use. The rack has been standing there at all times and water + residual soap have been in contact with the stone. Do you have any tips on how I can fix the color difference? Thank you!

Chapter 43 β Security
Time on a spaceship moved fast, at least it seemed that way, as the days flowed into each other without clearly defined borders. As their journey had been put on hold for the moment, days and weeks passed, and what shouldβve been the date they would arrive at their destination came and went without anything changing about their status.
Behind the scenes, proceedings mustβve been running a mile a minute, with investigations and preparations all happening at the same time to get some clarity on the situation at hand. However, even though she had been very involved up to a point, as a non-military person with basically no clearance, Nia was now left in the dark about most things, only getting brief pointers at most whenever something new was discovered.
And since she couldnβt bare remaining idle, not only for worry about James but also because it would surely drive her crazy to just do nothing for a long amount of time, Nia had decided that she would use her unwilling vacation to make the stay on, and getting used to the human ship and customs for her offworld friends as welcoming as possible.
With a smile on her face, she busied herself by washing off vegetables in the kitchen, while behind her, one of the shipβs cooks worked on getting a meal ready for everybody that couldnβt eat the shipβs usual diet.
βYou know, before all this, I wouldβve thought that cooking for offworlders would be a fun challenge,β the man suddenly commented out of the blue, and Nia turned her head to look at him in surprise. βBut this? This is so dull!β
He straightened himself up, putting down the cuts of meat he was working on for a moment to free his hands so he could gesture with his knife.
βCuts of meat. Plain, not too well done. No sides, no spices, no condiments, nothing. Just cuts of meat,β he loudly lamented, while seemingly trying to slice up the air in his frustration, making Nia inadvertently take a step away from him, even though she already stood outside of his range of motion. βAnd on the other side, thereβs greens. Greens, greens, greens. I canβt stand it anymore. How can entire species be so tasteless?β
Nia slightly shook her head while loo

I am so sorry to all of those that I caused to be alarmed, my dumb ass decided that my network expertise also qualified me to make sweeping generalizations about technology that I'm on peripherally familiar with in passing (kubernetes to be specific.... kubernetes are organized into PODS....) What I witnessed @ Reddit was nothing more insidious than a MIGRATION, not a well orchestrated spin down and subsequent nuking. Guys, I am without the appropriate words to describe my fuck up in any more detail. I employer was engaged in normal, non scary tasks, it took a fellow Redditor to get me to realize the error I made in judgement. Also, thank you to that Redditor @overzealous_dentist, I appreciate you catching my mistake, after I read your reply, I engaged in feverish Googling to confirm what you said, and I did indeed confirm that I am an idiot. I'm sorry to the Admins and Mods, should I delete this? This wasn't some elaborate attempt at Karma farming, it was an honest, but not well researched attempt to notify the r/antiwork community of something I grossly misinterpreted. BAH. Forgive me, please.
-----END APOLOGETIC EDIT-----
Hello there y'all, I hope you are doing well, but I have some troubling info that I felt needed shared..
I work for a sort of rent-a-SRE network and web optimization consulting firm, we fill gaps, help companies hit targets that wouldn't otherwise be possible due to C-suites biting off more than they could realistically chew, that kind of thing. We do anything from rent a NOC (network operations center) and it is this type of gig that I came into this truly alarming knowledge.
So Reddit maintains large subreddits in pseudo-isolated "PODs", their lingo, not mine, but anyway, they use BGP peering (a backbone protocol that links remote networks or data centers to one another in such a way that the different networks appear as one, I am explaining this gently, it is complicated to the uninitiated)
Needless to say, r/antiwork has its own POD, a very big POD with three active and nine or ten passive/backup 10GB pipes (...really fast internet connections) and they need it, the traffic generated by r/antiwork alone is eye watering, truly enormous, much more enormous than one would assume, based solely upon the user count.
During a Zoom call meant to set expectations and build out our ROE (rules of engagement, i.e., what we can, can't and absolutely should not do) the particular C-Suite we were meeting wi

LoR officially launched on the 29th of April 2020 - but even as early as January numbers were looking very good for LoR as it immediately entered the top 100 most watched games at 44th, and stayed there until realease.
The month of Feburary being the first full month of open Beta, and the month of May the first full month post official release, were the high water marks of LoR viewership coming in at ranks 33/35 respectively and garnering as high as 5.8 million hours watched with an average viewership of 7,800 across all streamers of the game.
However even towards the end of 2020 the downwards trend was clear, as new releases, additional content and other Riot games event tie-ins did little to stop the decline towards the fringes of the top 100. LoR suffered a consistent slide down the board before seeming to finally settle at the end of the year. September - December of 2020 established a basline audience - with consistently around the 1.6 million hours watched across some 2,300 average viewers.
2021 appeared to start with promise - as Riot released a clear roadmap for what to expect. It showcased an aggresive schedule of new content released every month mixed between co-op vs AI with New sets and expansions. Later down the line we would witnesses the 2021 LoR world championship with a $200,000 prizepool, and of course the big lore event tie ins with Arcane etc.
However this seems to have done absolutely nothing to grow the game's viewership, as averages for the entirety of 2021 are way down on the 2020 averages, and seem to reflect an even worse situation than this time last year, without the sucesses of the early release period.
Worryingly, the last few months in particular have been dire. October saw the least interest in LoR on record, seeing an average viewership figure barely in the 4 digits at 1035, and this didnt improve massively in november either. Time will tell if this is just a short term dip, but given the overall trend it seems unlikely unless something big changes.
These are how the key stats break down compared to 2020:
