A list of puns related to "Veterinary Science"
Hi! Iβm just wondering if the Hillβs Healthy Advantage Veterinary Diet is the same quality as any of the Hillβs Science Diet formulas. Also wondering the same for Purina Essential Care Adult formula and any of the other non-veterinary Purina formulas. Iβm wondering about the feline wet food for all of these.
I guess iβm just wondering if thereβs vets and nutritionists on staff for formulating these diets.
Just wanted to add: Iβm asking because I donβt really trust any of the marketed as βhigh qualityβ feline wet food you would buy in a pet food store for being balanced.

Scored bad in my first attempt of NEET (450s/720). Got 89%ile in Feb attempt of JEE, didn't give subsequent attempts out of disinterest in Engg. Cleared state uni entrance for BSc Agriculture and BVSc & AH somehow.
I have the choice for a drop as well but I am not confident if I'll crack MBBS govt college next year considering mark inflation and unpredictability and my own mental health. That's why looking for advice for these alternative options.
From what I researched- After BVSc I can-
After BSc Agriculture-
Which option will be a better choice? And what opportunities I should look out for in these? I'm personally inclined towards Vet out of love for animals and pets but have heard conflicting opinions regarding jobs/opportunities in India and also that the salary is low in many states for a VO. I'm from a lower middle class family and can't afford to study abroad.
Also what all I can do to increase my chances of getting a job abroad in these fields? Please comment if you're working/studying in these and can provide some insight.
Maybe I just need to vent, maybe Iβm just burnt out. But I have basically had any passion I had for vet med crushed out of me these last 2 and a half years. I am going to try to be as vague as possible because I really donβt want my identity puzzled out. But between administration issues, drama, and the crushing curriculum and constant lectures/reminders about how much student debt weβll have, how much mental health is an issue, etc, Iβm just done.
Weβve had an insane amount of administrative issues since day one of vet school- classes, labs, exams being moved around and rescheduled without telling us (several times professors were not informed their class had been moved, or were informed the hour before class began). Access issues to course material has frequently been waved off. Any time students raise concerns it is ignored or addressed as βcharacter building.β This was exacerbated during online school through covid, with almost double the number of students flunking out than normal. Mental health assistance is a joke, trust me Iβve tried to use it. As someone with a learning disability (ADD) accommodations donβt really exist, even if you go through their ten step process to sign up for them.
Then the courses- they have repeatedly rearranged the curriculum and half the time the professors donβt have any idea what we have/have not covered and teach us with the assumption we have a base of knowledge from a prior class that no longer exists. Theyβve crammed in MORE courses per semester and frequently professors donβt have time to cover the materials needed and tell us to learn the additional notes βon our own time.β The hands-on learning is very limited and because of covid we either had one hour labs shortened to 10 minute rotations in small groups, or moved to βvirtualβ labs which are just additional lecture time.
Iβm tired. I donβt even care about anything Iβm learning anymore. I donβt even think I want to be a vet anymore, but now Iβm $300k in debt and have no choice. I want to go into equine but we barely get any equine in the curriculum, so I canβt even go straight into my chosen field after graduation. This on top of being discouraged by every clinician that going into equine is a bad financial/QOL decision.
Donβt go to vet school. These have been the worst years of my life. I feel so isolated- many of my classmates start drama and cliques like weβre in high school, the rest are married and come to class and then go home and donβt interact with

I have heard that there are some universities in South Africa that work with national parks. The bad thing is that apparently itβs harder for students from my country to get their previous studies recognized in SA. I donβt really know why but thatβs the case.
The reason Iβm interested in Africa is that I want to work wildlife African wildlife, I think I can learn a lot more that way. Does anyone know if this is possible in Namibia?
Right now Iβm still not completely sure of what I want to study, this is just one of my options.
Hi everyone, I hope this is the right sub to post this.
I've recently decided to leave hospo and begin studying to work with animals. The trouble is I cant decide which pathway to stick to. I'm hoping some of you can give me some advice.
Do I spend possibly 6+ years to study Animal Science and Behaviour? I'm interested in understanding animal psychology and I know that it's more science and research based but what do Animal Techs/ Behaviourists actually do? Is the job as fulfilling as Veterinary Medicine? Is it a hands on course or more classroom based?
I never really thought that I would go down the path to become a Vet Nurse as I've been told its very challenging on your mental health but at least I know what they actually do and I can finish a Cert IV in 1.5 years as opposed to 6. I also know that here in Australia there are more opportunities for Vet nurses than techs but I'm open to moving overseas for the suitable job. I've been told that Vet Nurses do a lot of everything from receptionist duties, cleaning and assisting in surgeries. That's not really what I'm looking for and I don't want to be stuck in an office or at a reception desk all day and dealing with rude or terrible pet owners but I also don't want to limit myself to watching lab rats all day either.
I've tried talking to a course counsellor but she didn't really help as she was a general counsellor and not someone who has experience in this field. If anyone from either profession has any advice they can share I would really appreciate it. This is the first time in my life I've actually thought about pursuing a career and I'm too indecisive and scared to commit until I know everything.
Almost shΒ‘t myself after seeing I need a 99.5 atar for veterinary in UQ, goodbye dreams lol
I'm attempting Neet this year. I can not find any reliable source for this so I am posting this here.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi friends! I am interested in veterinary medicine and have been trying to find scholarships for pre-veterinary students, animal science/biology, etc... and haven't had the best luck. Most scholarships I have found are random ones that stopped in 2018. Does anyone know of any? I know this is a little niche but worth a shot!
Not familiar with the area... are there any condos relatively close to campus? My daughter might look to purchase instead of renting an apartment if she is accepted into the veterinary program. Hoping for some general info regarding proximity, safety, etc. Thanks in advance.
Forgive me if this isnβt the best sub. I graduated with a BS in animal science in 2018. My concentration was in food animal production, specially beef cattle. I really had no idea what I wanted to do after graduation. Like a lot of people Iβm sure, I went into my major thinking I wanted to be a vet but I changed my mind after a year and decided vet school and the lifestyle of a vet wasnβt what I wanted.
Iβve working since graduation with a company that handles livestock insurance. Itβs a pretty good job, however, Iβve been thinking about doing more schooling to diversity my skill set and because I may not want to do ag insurance my whole career. I am still not planning on becoming a veterinarian and I was looking into mostly online programs since I do have to keep working to support myself if I go back to school.
I came across a program offered by my alma mater that is for veterinary forensic science. They have both a certificate and masters program. The program I think is supposed to be for DVMs but any one with a bachelors degree in a natural science may apply. The courses and the program sound interesting and I would have the freedom to do most of the coursework remotely. I do think the skills I would gain from the program could be useful in my current job for when we have suspicious claims to investigate, but it will also give me another degree and skills to fall back on should I change jobs.
I could really find a whole lot of uses for this program besides with DVMs and some agricultural sheriff deputies. Like I said, Iβm not planning on going back to school to become a vet, but I am really interested in this program and I was wondering if anyone else completed a similar program and what other career opportunities are offered by it.
Hello all. I am a science teacher and I have gotten some great suggestions from this sub before to pass onto students.
Recently I have been approached by some girls who want to become vets and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of books that might be beneficial for them to read. I was thinking about Life on Air by David Attenborough for more of the life science aspect of it but are there are any memoirs or readable science books out there for 13-14 year olds to get them on track for animal physiology?
Thank you all in advance
Hi. Are there any varsities/colleges/universities that offer vet nurse or vet science programmes in qatar? Or any other courses related to animal health?

No bad dogs? Pet owner's personality can affect canine training success, study finds
Factors that affect behavioral therapy success include the dog's age, sex and size.

Whether it's barking at everyone who passes or aggression toward strangers, many problem dog behaviors can be helped. New research suggests the trick to training problem pups may depend on the the owner's personality, as well as the bond between human and dog.
"Almost nothing is known about how treatment success is influenced by the characteristics of the owner,β said Lauren Powell, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
To better understand what it takes to correct problem dog behavior, a team at PennVet recruited 131 dog-owner pairs to attend a veterinary behavioral program for six months.
Owners were asked to fill out a human personality assessment questionnaire and dog behavior questionnaire at the start of the study. The dog behavior questionnaire was to be filled out again at three and six months into the study. Seventy-five pairs completed the research.
In the dog assessment, owners were asked to rate their pets on topics such as:
The human personality assessment looked at broad categories, such as:
Factors that affected behavioral therapy success included the dog's age, sex and size, the researchers found. At the end of the program, big dogs with aggression problems showed more improvement than smaller dogs. That may be because owners might be more attuned to the larger dogs' behavior because they present more of a safety risk, Powell said.
But other results surprised the team.
βExtroverted owners were more likely to see improvements in dogsβ fearful behaviors and introverted owners less so,β said Powell, lead

I'm wondering, will I be older than most in the cohort as a 24/25yo next year? I'm starting to worry more and more about graduating late (29), and thinking I should call qtac to change my choice.
