A list of puns related to "Value Orientation"
Hello, Iβm trying to evaluate an FDM printed model in ANSYS. Comparing the stresses on different print orientations using anisotropic properties of the oreientations. I donβt quite understand how to manipulate the anisotropic values to correlate to different print orientations and cannot find any solid information online. Can anyone help me?
I own an Mkr 1000 that I would like to repurpose for a time tracking dice, I've already found several DIY similar projects but one thing puzzles me which wasn't clear on the resources I've found. Detecting the dice orientation.
I know that a gyroscope will tell me the angular acceleration and an accelerometer the linear accelerator the sensor will feel, however, what I actually need is the resting orientation of the object.
My understanding is that the general off the shelf gyro+accelerometer sensor will yield the equivalent of 0 value when the sensor is resting, because of course standing still has 0 angular and linear acceleration.
Am I misunderstanding how th sensor will work or am I missing some additional information to understand how they work?

Hi I have a problem with creating a table that can adjust on the fly, based upon slicer.
I have three columns A,B,C. Each column has rows listing values 0,1,2,3,4,5. I want to user slicers to select a 0-5 number for A,B,C and then use this in a summary table. The table has two columns, C1 which lists A,B,C and C2 which lists the number selected by the slicer.
Iβve been banging my head against a wall now for 2 days trying to get past this so any help is much appreciated. Itβs so simple in excel and so Iβm sure itβs viable in BI.
Hello, while I was reading a paragraph of Social Research by Corbetta, I found this sentence:
"[...] as has been repeatedly demonstrated by social psychology, value orientation is established during the subjectβs formative years and tends to remain fixed throughout life, even if social and environmental conditions change" (p.62).
Unfortunately, there are no references for the studies.
Does someone have some suggestions about studies that demonstrate that the value orientation is fixed in young people?
Graph in which I was testing whether or not this would work
I have spent 2 weeks trying to figure out how to do this without any guarantee that it would end up being useful in pursuing my true goal (figuring out where 2 ellipses that can intersect 4 times, intersect, so I can create 2 possible ellipses that fit around a quadrilateral). It has been awful, to say the least, as I can't seem to find any previous work which would aid me in maintaining sanity
Shared this project on Taskernet. Link and Description in this r/taskernet post - https://www.reddit.com/r/taskernet/comments/ed40xd/project_is_device_stationary_with_device/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x
Update (22/12/2019): New version link at the bottom.
This project tells you if your phone has been stationary. It uses Sensor #11 (Rotation Vector) to monitor changes in any of the axes to do so and then waits for 15 minutes to check if any x/y/z values changed. If it did not, then the %isDeviceStationary is set to 'yes'. If it detects any movement, it will set the variable to 'no' (and reset the 15m timer).
Additionally, it provides orientation values for X, Y and Z axes. The values you get:
%screenOrientation: up (same as faceup), tilted, forward (when the phone is vertical) and down (when the screen is facing down, irrespective of the angle)
%screenFace: eastish, northish, westish, southish
%screenRotation: up (same as faceup), leftup, left (same as leftside), leftdown, down (same as upside down), rightdown, right (same as rightside) and rightup
Needs: Autotools
Uses: Any action that needs to know what angle the phone is in or if the phone is stationary or not.
For example, I created a "Turn off Display in Pocket" profile which looks like this:
Profile: Turn Off Screen In Pocket (560)
Restore: no
State: Variable Value [ %screenRotation ~ leftdown | %screenRotation ~ down | %screenRotation ~ rightdown |+ %screenOrientation ~ down ]
State: Proximity Sensor
Enter: Turn Display Off (637)
A1: Turn Off [ Dim:Off Lock:Off ]
I also combined it with other variables to come up with a simple %isDeviceIdle
Profile: Device Idle Variable (665)
Restore: no
State: Variable Value [ %isPhoneLocked ~ true ]
State: Variable Value [ %isDeviceStationary ~ yes ]
State: Display State [ Is:Off ]
Enter: Anon (666)
A1: Variable Set [ Name:%isDeviceIdle To:yes Recurse Variables:Off Do Maths:Off Append:Off Max Rounding Digits:3 ]
Exit: Anon (667)
A1: Variable Set [ Name:%isDeviceIdle To:no Recurse Variables:Off Do Maths:Off Append:Off Max Rounding Digits:3 ]
Update: Added a 1m cooldown timer for all sensing profiles.
Hope this helps you. Cheers.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I see a lot of posts about how "White men" can't understand the hardship of minorities. Or how straight people can't understand those the gay/bisexual/whateversexual face.
There is nothing genetic about understanding, and presented with the same relevant information any individual can understand any topic. My opinion is not worth less than anyone elses just because I belong to a majority.
The idea that understanding can only apply to those who've experienced something directly is a cop out to dismiss others opinions when they state facts the other individual does not agree with. It is a muzzle, nothing more, and is based entirely in ignorance.

A lot of thanks to the participants who fill out this survey. The survey itself itβs not restricted to only one race, however, I am kind of having a very skewed data and I want as much variability as possible. Therefore, this repost is temporarily only targeting at people of colored, however, if you are really ambitious to fill it, you are welcome to do so and may as well ask others to fill it if you thought it was interesting.
Survey: Homophobia survey
I am taking really serious this survey because it makes me anxious, I am not really good at socializing, even so I went out to distribute surveys and whenever I see there are responses and people who pass by are willing to fill out this survey I am very happy and feel released. So again, thanks a lot to the participants who filled out this survey.
