A list of puns related to "Urban Mythology"
Anyone have any creepy Hip-Hop related legends/conspiracies/mythology? Iβll start: Cash Money may have murdered their own artists in the early days of the label. While I wonβt say itβs definitively proven, with Birdman being known for his poor treatment of his artists itβs rather suspicious that artists were murdered after their contracts being up (ex. Yella Boy). Hereβs the thread for those interested: https://www.kanyetothe.com/threads/cash-money-exposal-thread-not-making-this-shit-up.2305081/
I find this rather creepy due to the fact that itβs so unheard of. The only other situation like this is the allegations that Suge may have killed Pac, but even then Pac was just ONE artist.
As the question asks whatβs a type of creature/ monster from mythology or fiction you would think would be a great addition to this game either completely or loosely based off of it in the same kind of realm as killers like oni, spirit and the plague. For me I think a banshee would a cool creature to add both design wise and being able to use her screeching to attack or even shoot sonic blasts at survivors or maybe even pallets to break them or something
I would like to learn more on the topic. Would also love to hear of any great books on the topic!
Any kind of help would be appreciated!! From just your opinion to regular betaing! I am available to swap stories ,freely especially with fantasy!

Cursed with mortality among a sea of demigod and legacies, Naomi struggles the shine. Desperate to matter, to gain a fraction of the power and influence of her peers, Naomi applies herself to become a heroine unlike any other. One powered by ingenuity and strength of character instead of divinity and nepotism.
She seeks the only form of immortality available to mere mortals like her, that which came from being remembered forever in the stories of men. Nothing will get in her way,... except maybe her nephilim brother and those that see that her place was as a breeder for the gods.
Melione on the other hand sought only one thing... freedom. Freedom from the burden of her bloodline and the curse they bore. As the last legacies of Harmonia, they carried the curse of her wedding night and the gifts given to the one time goddess. It was Melione's turn to bear the curse, as her aunt had before her.
Desperate to be free, she will do anything to break the curse on her family and finally end the cycle of misery so engrained into her bloodline. It doesn't matter the cost, she was willing to lay it and fight against the child gods who cursed her bloodline so many eons ago.

Looking for recommendation for books like John Charming series by Elliott James. I read books like Dresden, Iron druid, Demon Accord, Percy Jackson, Red Rising.
Iβm a reader of romance novels and I recently tried Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller after being recommended it on r/Romancebooks.
Though itβs not quite the same as a pure romance novel, I LOVED the combination of Greek mythological characters/settings/events, love/romance, and sex scenes/steam.
Iβm going to try Circe as well.
Could you recommend to me some Greek mythology novels/books featuring sex scenes/sexual tension, and if possible love and romance too?
Iβm not interested in modern/urban fantasy novels, as Iβd really like to get a feel for the mythological times and settings when reading. Like how it was in Millerβs work. And if possible, not too much straying from the actual myth.
I know what Iβm asking for might be really difficult but if you know any, please recommend. π
(I find myself particularly fond of Hector and Andromache, but Iβll taking ANYTHING).
Thank you so much!
Hi! I mostly write for tabletop games, and Iβd love to write novels, too. I am Japanese American, and I adore Japanese mythology! So... why not write about it, right?

Blurb:
No one expects anything special from Suzu Gozen. Everyone thinks sheβs a regular, human girl who attends a regular, human high school. And thatβs the way she likes it.
Then the Japanese fox spirit she is magically bound to just has to find the origins of human magic... something people will kill to control or kill to hide. Of course, heβs dragging her along.
Explore the dangerous dimension full of literal nightmares, Suzu. Fight against powerful Spellweavers without any magic, Suzu. Face the family who disowned you, Suzu. And she thought high school was rough.
Famous parents. Existence as a living taboo. Meddling magical mega corporations. For Suzu, life is becoming exactly what she didnβt want... complicated. And itβs really pissing her off. So, sheβs going to do the unexpected.
------
Content Warning: Strong Language (Suzu is a teenager, so she swears)

Feedback Iβm looking for:
I would love to hear what you think about the cadence, pacing, plot holes you may find, voice, and character development of this manuscript. I also want to know what Iβm doing right as well as whatβs not working for you. Iβm not looking for any line edit or copyedit type feedback (typos, grammar mistakes, etc.).
------
Preferred timeline Iβm looking for: Iβd love to get some feedback in the next ~4 weeks, if possible.

Hey guys!
Iβm looking for new podcasts to listen to. Iβm mostly into a mix of educational/entertaining; for reference βPhilosophize This!β is my favourite podcasts atm. But now I am specifically looking for podcasts about Japan. Iβm into educational stuff, but sometimes like purely entertaining podcasts like readings, too - for example something like βKowanbanaβ. I already know Uncanny Japan and Kowanbana. If thereβs a good Japanese language learning podcast you know for beginner intermediates, please drop your suggestions, too! Thank you!
I feel like every other Fantasy book I've read recently assumes I've studied Greek Mythology at some point when really I only know what I learned from a few episodes of Hercules growing up and what I read in the Dresden Files. Is Greek Mythology more widely learned than what I previously thought or are other people stumbling through those plots as well?
Hi there! I'm looking for an urban fantasy that has a male mc. The mc should be an "alpha" and by that I don't mean killing everything and being condescending, I mean he should stand up for himself when needed and have a logical thought process and have leadership qualities. Another big plus to the recommendation would be the addition of a romantic subplot that ties in with the main plot and not just as a side dish that doesn't make a difference. I'm sorry for putting too many constraints but even if it meets a few of these criteria I'd be glad to read them.
Hi! I'm Amanda, a podcaster, educator, and internet businessperson. I co-host Spirits (boozy dive into mythology and urban legends) and Join the Party (D&D real play for newbies and experts alike), which have with more than 2.5 million downloads between them.

Hi,
I am currently brainstorming for a potential project regarding Thai legends/myths or just stories rooted in folklore or maybe even just being generally known.
I first touched this theme when I watched some more or less debatably good horror movies and noticed, that a lot of the themes shown are rooted in mythology or at least old tales.
My interests was piqued, when I saw, that often the represented creatures or ghosts are not merely a shock factore, but tragic figures.
So my question is if you could just tell me about some of these creatures, ghosts or maybe just tales (which can or cannot be creepy) and are not as well known.
Being not at all familiar with a lot of the tales, I am not only curious about looks or motivation, but maybe the origin or variations.
I am not sure where to go yet with this project. I will most definitly try to do some illustrations and hopefully can start in October with a first concept (regarding story and world building) regarding a game.
I know the internet has a lot of sources to google this, but I just cannot read thai and the english web often redirects me to the same shallow descriptions of thai mythology or just referecnes totally different sides not related at all.
Hopefully some one can help and or redirect me.
I love American Nightmare Podcast Presents... | Chapter 9: First Fight, let's play it! https://www.podbean.com/ea/pb-8r4eh-afbaea
I remember getting this book in my secondary school library but I cant for the life of me remember its name.
Here is what I remember:
The First book had "Sword" in it's title and the Second Book had "shield" in it's title, and I think a boy and a girl on the cover, one being blue, the other red.
The plot follows a teenager (I think American) moving to japan, on the plan he see's a tanuki which is messing around in the luggage compartment of the plane which other people can't see. He asks it's questions but the tanuki says something about warning him, I think.
Anyway the protagonist lands and is taken by Airport security. In the security room he sees the one who had him pulled in there was an Oni and the oni uses magic words to make the protagonist unable to speak. He is then saved by a Japanese girl riding a motorcycle and is take back to there house, they say some plot stuff and then go to grab McDonald.
This is all at the start of the novel, and I maybe not be accurate but this is what I remember.
If you remember what this book is please tell me. Thank you for your help.
Was it Lincoln himself who made the offer? Or someone else? What was their reaction to Lee turning it down?
Was this offer generally known about by Northerners while the war was ongoing? Is there any record of how Northerners felt about this--either to Lee's turning it down, or to Lincoln/whoever making the offer in the first place? Was it controversial?
Also, the claim usually has it that Lee would have taken up the offer, but he could not turn his back on Virginia. Had Lee made this claim publicly known during the war, or only after? Did it happen at all?
Any information on how we came to know about this, and the veracity of the event is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
