A list of puns related to "Stiff Upper Lip"
Iβm new to the sub and want to know what are everyoneβs thoughts on this album. I personally really love the album for the bluesy style riffs.
One of the most noticeable aspects of British culture is the lack of emotional expression. Iβm American, and itβs been very obvious to me that the last few years have been very different from the years before. Younger and older British people seem more willing to express themselves, and to accept compliments. Have you guys noticed this? I can tell a difference even from a few years ago
Hi friends, this is a very long post. I've worked as a call center rep nearly six years. I realized about two years in that I was pretty unhappy. Anyone who has ever worked in a call center should be familiar with just how terrible people can be and how miserable the work is. My employer also has bs metrics that add to my stress like handle time, productivity (I recently got pulled aside for having a 92% productivity rate instead of 97%), disconnecting the call before the customer does, and ofc sales - including credit cards. All through the pandemic, my employer has *still* enforced these metrics without leniency. Anyone familiar with Joja Corp from Stardew Valley? My employer is the epitome of a cold, capitalist, bottom line focused company.
Anyway, I really got serious about paying off my debts and my car loan last January, when the pandemic started, with the plan of quitting eventually. I started working as much overtime as possible (about 10 - 20 extra hours/week). Now I have no credit card debt and I should have my car loan paid off by December at the latest. I still have student loans and a couple of small, zero interest debts that I'm current on. The original plan was to sell my house, buy a rental property, and be on my way to a new life. Well, the housing market is insane so I can't make a contingency offer on a property. I'd have to sell my house, get an apartment, and then make a non-contingent offer to compete in this market.
Now, recently, the company I work for announced they are closing the local office I am based out of and the options are to purchase a dedicated work computer at my expense to work remote or to accept a furlough offer but I have to decide by October 26th. So I'd have to decide before being able to execute the original plan above.
The pros of accepting the furlough
The cons of accepting the furlough
Just watched masterpiece theater and this guy never moved his upper lip once whenever he talked. He was playing English Royalty.
Where did this start and does anyone else do it besides the English Royalty?
What rare or uncommon tracks were played on the Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip tours?
The creepiest and most disturbing thing I can remember is my mom tasting my tears every time I cried so Iβd stopβ¦ lol sorry for that heinous story - Iβm Completely desensitized to it. Lol
Here in the States I feel like therapy and self-help (while still facing stigmas) are becoming more accepted, at least in city environments. The cliche old British stoicism... Does it still make a lot of citizens downplay their own internal struggles?
Because he has to Grim and bear it.
I'm talking about the song not necessarily the album. That has to be the best AC/DC riff I can think of if not one of the greatest guitar riffs across all genre's. Sure Back In Black and Highway To Hell are memorable but those songs don't get me groovin the way that song does the moment I hear it.
You think if it had come out in 1980 as opposed to 2000 it would have been an all time classic?
