Good day people of GiftofGames and I hope everyone is well during these times. I'm sure this post will be overshadowed by others so thank you for reading this :D. I am a teen from the Philippines and I am asking for β±250 wallet funds for the game Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.
What is Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove?
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is a collection of the Shovel Knight saga and is developed by Yacht Club Games. It's a difficult platformer with pixel graphics and has an amazing soundtrack. It includes all the Shovel Knight games, excluding Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon and Shovel Knight Dig. An incredibly short and spoiler-free description of the included games are listed below:
Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope - As the name suggests, you play as the protagonist of the series, Shovel Knight, as you defeat the Order of No Quarter and the Enchantress.
Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows - In this game, you play as the Plague Knight and go on an adventure to collect ingredients to create the ultimate potion.
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment - You play as the Specter Knight in this prequel as you uncover your past and recruit the Order of No Quarter.
Shovel Knight: King of Cards - You play as King Knight as you play card games and fight enemies in your quest to become the King of Cards.
Shovel Knight Showdown - It's a fighting game with Shovel Knight characters. You can play with local coop or solo in Story mode or Showdown.
Why do I want it?
Looking at the trailers, the visuals look amazing and the chiptune music is wonderful. Each character has its own personality and it doesn't feel forced. Playable characters have different ways to play so it isn't repetitive and the minigames looks as fun as the game. The platforming levels look difficult yet fun at the same time.
I also love platforming games. It's a close second as my favorite game genre (before rhythm games). And to be honest, I pirated the game and I felt guilty because of it since I was just ripping the devs off since I was enjoying the game without giving them something in return so I deleted it (the same goes to Hollow Knight and Celeste).
Why can't I afford it?
I'm still in high school so I can't get jobs. I also bought Rhythm Doctor since I thought it would be fun but I regret it since it was incredibly short. The custom levels are incredibly hard and I feel like I'm just forcing myself to play it. Also my parents are very strict on how they spend

It's true that a big group of guys could dig out a bunker pretty quickly, but the issue is that we need as many people on the front fighting as possible. Having to pull off a sizable chunk of soldier to build just isn't feasible with how quickly the front can move.
The CV build upgrade is a good example of improving builder's ability to keep up with the front, but by the time the build upgrade is unlocked the pillboxes are too weak to hold a front longer than a few minutes.
The addition of a Steam Shovel or some vehicle that can allow one soldier do the digging of 2-3 shovels would greatly help in the current meta.
We need the ability for a few people to walk away from the front and quickly build up a secondary defensive line. If the front holds then the base can be left to decay. Note: Upgrades will still be an issue, but at least infantry can sit in a RG with AT equipment instead of a 1 shot pillboxes.
Steam Community :: Mister Han 2000 :: Review for Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
Hey all! Sorry for my absence(did I spell that word right?). After some time on vacation and some soul searching as far as whether I want to make videos or write, I figure writing is ultimately more up my alley(and let's face it, the ship has sailed for me to get my foot in YouTube's door). Hope you enjoy the review, and those of all who post here! :D

Greetings Runners Everywhere!
I have recently released my first stab at a speedrun-able game and would love to see what players with Speedrunning in their blood can manage to pull off! :D
So if you feel up for a new challenge, check it out here: https://denglishdesign.itch.io/shovel-escape
The goal is to platform to the top of the level by traversing up falling rocks and dodging magma spikes, before the lava below catches up to you!
I am running a little speedrunning competition for some steam gift cards over on my twitter!
And all participants (up to like 300 or so) that don't place top 3, but sent in a video submission, will get a random steam key from my stockpile of humble bundle keys over the years.
So everyone is a winner! :P
Competition details in the thread of my tweet here: https://twitter.com/denglishdesign/status/1398882523443208195?s=20
Here is one of my decent runs to show what the mechanics of the game are :) https://youtu.be/Je4rqLatprQ
This would be the easier, Any% (No Crystals) Run :P
Good luck and have fun! :D
Hello Everyone!
What started out as a first introduction into Game Maker for a 48 hr game jam, turned into a 4 month personal challenge to flesh out the fun concept we made in the game jam!
It was the first project for which I had friends testing the game along the way, and using their feedback fueled iterations and redesigns of many things. So I am very proud of the end result and would love to hear any and all feedback! :)
FYI, the game is a little hard at first, but it you are decent at platforming I am sure you will get the hang of it quickly! :)

I am also holding a speedrunning competition for the game!If you record and send in a video of you completing the game as fast as possible, you can win some steam gift cards or random steam keys!Check the link below for my tweet with the competition details! :) Good luck, have fun!
The goal is to use a CRT to display 240p game in their (almost) native resolution and take full advantage from the natural scanlines.
I spent a lot of time to achieve this, made many trials and errors, so maybe it will save time for the few people interested.
As requested, some pics of the result :
Hardware :
- GPU card with VGA output (preferably and old AMD/ATI Radeon)
- LCD monitor (can be plugged to a different GPU card)
- CRT TV (in 4:3) plugged to the VGA output with :
- VGA-to-RGBscart cable (preferably with composite sync forced). Other connectors might work, I chose the best connector for european TVs. I heard "component" is good for US CRT, but you will need a transcoder)
Software :
The guide explains how to install and configure everything (except the OS and steam !)
- Ubuntu (if you use Windows, it might work but you have to find another guide)
- Wayland (if you use X you can skip step 3 and you have to replace gnome-randr.py with xrandr in step 4. In theory latency is a bit better with Wayland. And X's sleep mode might be disturbed by your CRT). To activate Wayland on Ubuntu see : https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-enable-disable-wayland-on-ubuntu-20-04-desktop Edit : since April, 2021 Ubuntu (21.04) is on Wayland by default.
- Valve's Proton (embedded in steam) for running windows games
- Valve's Gamescope : https://github.com/Plagman/gamescope to display and scale in arbitrary resolutions, with minimum latency
- gnome-randr.py : https://gitlab.com/Oschowa/gnome-randr to handle displays (turn on, turn off)
- edid-generator : https://github.com/akatrevorjay/edid-generator to "configure" the CRT TV in 320x240
$ mkdir ~/scripts
$ cd ~/scripts
$ git clone
https://github.com/akatrevorjay/edid-generator
$ cd edid-generator
$ sudo apt install zsh edid-decode
`$ ./modeline2edid - <<< 'Modeline "320x240" 6.452 320 344 376 408
