A list of puns related to "Stater"

Does anyone want to weigh in on, why Vermonters tend to strongly dislike out of staters? I've lived in Vermont for over three years now and everyone has been very welcoming to us. We've made some really great "true Vermonter", lived all their life here friends. We're friends but they forget that we were outsiders, and then the "truth" comes out. Lol. They hate out of staters! Especially New Yorkers and New Jersey folk. I admit, I hate New Yorkers too! LMAO. But, of all the states I've lived in, Vermont seems to be the one with the most dislike for people from other states. Just curious.
So there's a story with this question.
I was driving towards campus, and at the light at Babcock and Ferguson someone began honking super aggressively at me. The women then pulled up next to me in the turn lane pointing at me, so I rolled down the window and she starts screaming "live in your state, not ours." I told her I was living on campus just trying to go to college, but then she started berating me for littering. I was confused because I never (intentionally) litter and asked her what she was talking about. She then screamed at me for a pizza box that had fallen off my truck.
What happened was I was getting a bunch of my things set in my truck and put my half a pizza on top of my cab and proceeded to forget about it, and then when I had started driving it fell off my roof into the road....so there goes my dinner for tonight I guess, and my pride with it.
Note: I did turn around and grab my pizza box out of the road, so I guess thanks for letting me know my dinner fell off my roof.
Hi there-
I am trying to figure out the best way to handle a speeding ticket I received in North Carolina a couple of months ago. I got pulled over doing a 79 in a 55 (24 over) and the ticket says i need to show up to the court date rather than just pay something. My question is, is this something where I really need to consult a lawyer? I am licensed in Maryland, and obviously would prefer to not have to go all the way back down to NC to take care of a ticket, but I will if I have to.
My understanding is that 24 over is considered "reckless driving" statute G.S. 20-141(J1) and the fact that it is a misdemeanor crime makes its handled potentially differently than a normal ticket. The last thing I would want is to make a trip back there to attend the court date and then end up going to county jail for a month or something or have my license revoked.
It has been difficult to get a grasp on the way the courts work down there, and I have reached out to a few attorneys but they have told me some pretty varying things from "the courts are backed up with COVID stuff so they will probably drop it" to, "pay me $2,000 or you will probably go to jail and have your license suspended".
So, yes I know it was stupid to speed and I've learned my lesson but now I am just trying to handle this the best way possible. I am generally a good driver and haven't got a speeding ticket or even pulled over in at least 5 years.
Thanks for any advice
We've had 13 cases so far from a French backpacker from QLD, and haven't dealt with the numbers our eastern states brothers have at all during the pandemic before, but we all know the numbers are coming in the future.
Can you give us some real life tips on what you've been doing as an individual to mitigate exposure - what has worked, what hasn't worked, what to do or not do?
I'm not talking the obvious "mask up and sanitise", but just like any extras you do that seem to have helped- shoes off at the door, bag clothes after leaving the house and straight in the wash etc?
Also, if you have been in a household that have people that have gotten sick, what worked to make sure the rest of the household didn't get infected?
I was getting onto 128S from the North Shore Mall and there was some poor guy from Florida in front of me with literally no clue as to how to navigate the onramp. He just couldn't find the groove and take the leap. I waited patiently for him as he kind of edged out and managed give him the space he needed to floor it. I felt kind of bad for him. But it was kind of cute, too.
Iโve known so many locals and friends who have worked at Stater Bros since high school graduation for another 4-10+ years seemingly. Are their benefits really great? Or whatโs up with Staters having this type of employment trend ?
Any stater bros employee opinions would be great!
First off, we are absolutely glad youโre visiting, and hope you enjoy your time!
However, if thereโs inclement weather, and youโre driving behind a car with 4/All-wheel drive and Vermont plates, trust us. Our roads can be very dangerous, and we are going the maximum speed we know is safe on our roads. Tailgating or passing isnโt a great idea. Ask any Vermonter: we rarely pull our neighbors out of ditches, itโs almost always people from out-of-state. Keep some distance, drive slow, be safe.
Iโm sure this will get downvoted to oblivion by all of the hate filled people on this sub, but it needs to be said. Those of you who attack people moving here because of where theyโre from are no better than racists attacking people of color, or homophobes attacking lgbtq people. Just because someone โainโt from Montanaโ doesnโt mean that theyโre not simply looking for what we all are - a good and fulfilling life.
The insecurity of those who troll Reddit to try to put down non-natives is truly pathetic. These people are not to blame for your problems. Housing prices have skyrocketed in almost every area in the US. Missoula is not special in that regard. Driving divisiveness into this community will ruin the culture that you claim to be trying to protect.
Iโm routinely embarrassed when I hop on here to find that someoneโs question about a fishing trip has been downvoted to hell, and theyโre getting a bunch of mean comments. Is this how you people live? I canโt imagine going through life like that.
Did you know that itโs the right of humans to live wherever they want to, and that theyโre making a big decision when they choose to join our community? Maybe we should welcome them, be kind, open, and genuine instead?
I say this as a native Montanan. Rant over, but please do better.
I live in 321, but I recently ascended a couple tax brackets and Itโs always been my dream to have 5+ acres.
In theory I would want to buy a nice plot of land in south Brevard or North Indian River, and have a beautiful house built on it. My budget is 600-750k.
Can anyone tell me how it works in real lifeโฆ.
Things like:
How to determine if the land is buildable.
How does a โroad extensionโ work (listing says parcel accessible by road extension. Doesnโt seem to be more than a few hundred feet).
Wetlands?
Is having a house build a ridiculous proposal due to recent inflation and materials increase?
other things I need to be aware of when trying for this plan? Endangered tortoises?
Thanks
Need to get a Covid test ASAP. Where can I find a home kit or get tested easily here? Iโm an out of stater and having a hard time trying to navigate this outside of my home state. I do not have my own car so drive through is not an option. Thank you so much in advance & happy holidays to all of you!
ETA: If it helps Iโm in Kirkwood MO
First post go easy on me ....
I am trying to start playing DnD. I have watched a fair few games on You Tube Etc, so i understand the basic concept of the game,
My partner bought me the Starter kit and the Essential Kit for Christmas. I have been reading all the rules etc a lot make sense but where I am struggling is with the Skills and Proficiencies with the "in box character sheets".
My question is this and i will use the Rouge as and Example as this is the same with all the charachter sheets .....
Essential Kit Rules Say .............
Choose four from Acrobatics, Athletics, Deception, Insight, Intimidation, Investigation, Perception, Performance, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand, and Stealth
But the character sheet has 6 skills boosted which are acrobatics deception, investigation, performance sleight of hand and Stealth.

What am I missing. I am obviously making some daft noob mistake if any one could explain this i would very greatfull.
How fast does tolerance really build and how long before it drops back down? Thanks skiers hope every one is having a nice time
I hope you are enjoying this glorious snow today, and I apologize for the length of this post!
If you have a few minutes, I want to tell you a story about an out-of-stater I met the other day. It's been a few days, and I just can't shake this feeling I have of disgust and want to explain to you why so many local people just cannot deal with these out-of-staters. Personally, I have no problem with them at large, but individually, I find they have questionable character traits.
Chapter 1
To put things into context, I met her through a client's friend's friend. So this woman was a complete stranger to me, and this is the first and only time we have ever spoken. She contacted me for snow removal, as a storm (this one) was about to blow in. To further clarify I am not a plow driver, or snow removal guy. But I like to help, and sometimes, I get new clients that way.
Now, I'm speaking with this woman, and she is from Florida. This is her first winter in Montana, and she kept on and on about how this climate is great, and the weather is so warm... Ok, fine, clueless, but fine, lol. I am also familiar with her home, in Gallatin Canyon, and is is roughly valued at $3.5m (you'll see in a second why I included this information).
After some pleasantries, and me giving her a little history about her home (built with SIP panels, last home built in the subdivision, etc) we get down to brass tacks. "How much do you think a plow will cost per storm?" she asks me, and I think for a moment, and give her the "friend of a friend" pricing, which is less than half of what a legit plow company would cost. But I said it is one-time, as I'm not a plow guy.
At this point, this woman's voice completely changed (we were on the phone), and she started huffing and puffing, "What? I pay my Mexicans half of what you said, to mow my lawn in Florida!" , and I'm like thinking, how is snow plowing the same thing as mowing a lawn...? At this point, just to give her shit I said, "Well why can't you hire them to come up to Montana to plow your driveway?" She actually started explaining to me about how they are illegals and would need to take a Greyhound to get here, and in my head I'm just thinking, JFC.
Then it hit me... She is just some entitled nobody, who doesn't understand how we do things in Montana. She moved here, with her Monopoly money, thinking she was Queen of Montana. Like the whole history of Montana just started because she moved here. I promise, I was very offended, but
... keep reading on reddit โกHi,
Was wondering if anyone had any advice on whether I should get a fast trak or not. I am moving to the bay area for about 1-2 months for work and have a Texas plate. Should I get a fast trak to make things simple?
Also which account is best? Im leaning towards "charge"
thanks!
Hi y'all! Hope everyone is having a lovely January.
As the title suggests, I'm planning on hiking the Long Trail in July. I have moderate hiking experience (hiked the white mountains over 3 days avg 7 ish miles a day over 6 hours, had a slow companion). What I am curious about is how exactly to arrive at the beginning and end of the trip. I don't think it'll to hard to start, where a family member will drive me up, but when people reach canada, how do y'all get back to your cars or get home in general?
Would it be better to leave a car in Mass. and then fly back from the top of vermont? Is that possible?
Thank you for reading, and feel free to share your experiences. I'm a bit nervous planning for this trip, but I could not be more excited to get in touch with such a great community.

Hi ya'll, hope everyone is doing well in the new year!
I'll be heading down to Tulsa for a solo over night trip this Saturday. I'm a MO Med patient and have my card all sorted out (btw, I was approved by OMMA in a matter of hours, and the card came days, not weeks, later. I feel lucky.)
Anyway, I've been doing a lot of research here on the best ways to take advantage of all that Tulsa has to offer. I think my main targets are cannabis connoisseur, apothecary, nature's kiss and magic leaf. A quick stop at Fritz's on the way down will probably happen too.
I'm not a HUGE flower person, but I've been getting back into that, so will definitely acquire some top shelf goods. Concentrates are my favorite though, and see daily use. Hence the apothecary stop... And rosin. How do I love thee .. Let me count the ways! I'm stoked to have so many options for my favorite medicine!
So, that being said I'm open to advice on a few fronts....
Any tips on anything super tasty hitting shops this week?
I haven't booked a hotel yet. Thinking of staying in the midtown area. I'm not going to get shot am I?
As far as food goes, I am hoping to hit mother road market, seems like some fun options. Coney Islander is also a likely stop. I have a deep love of regional cuisine so any suggestions are welcome.
Probably the only touristy thing I'm considering is decopolis. I do love me some art deco!
RSO. Love it, live it. Best options?
One other thing.. I've seen that some locations offer open consumption? I think I'd like to experience that. I've seen 473, gypsy, etc. Would love any more info on that sort of thing.
I probably have a few more questions that I'm overlooking, and may well be over thinking all of this. At any rate, I'm more than excited to get to experience one of the most free markets in history, and get to explore a new town (to me) on my own (seriously, I haven't taken a trip of any length alone in a loooong time.
So that's it for now. Thanks for reading and thanks even more if you reply. Any info is appreciated and will help me out greatly I'm sure. Thanks again and have a great day!
